It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

I agree! I went once in July. Never. Again.

I went once in July. I was in my early 20's so that makes it the late 90's/early 00's. It was after the 4th. I remember it being HOT but it was no where near as crowded as I imagined it to be!

I'm sure things have changed since, though.

I went in 2005 and the crowds weren't that bad but it was the HEAT. Oppresive. Miserable. A few other words that I can't think of right now. Blech.

You are making DF really want to head to Disney World, like tonight....

He is so looking forward to Fantasmic!

And I am glad you liked the Brown Derby!!!!

And I can't wait to read more! popcorn::

Oh my gosh I haven't been to the Brown Derby in 20 years but between your report & Kat's, now I really want to go back! The food looks soooo good.
The Mickey boppers are cracking me up too.
And I have to add that I went in July of 2006 (4th of July!) and it really wasn't bad! Although I adore the heat. It's officially jacket weather here in PA and I am not happy about it!

Our favorite sign.

I love this sign! For whatever reason when I read it, I have to read it outloud. Its just funnier to me that way! :goodvibes

I totally agree with your DH. I really hate those bleachers and you are so uncomfortable sitting there pre-show but as soon as the lights go out, you don't even think of it anymore! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear if you do EMH!

WOO HOO! I can't wait to hear if you are able to snag an ADR! :goodvibes

I did! I did!! :cool1: And it's even at a normal time - 11:50 for lunch!

I've never seen Fantasmic... you have me thinking about that too.

Totally agree on WDW in July. Sounds like torture! BUT that's when my birthday is and I love free stuff... :rolleyes1

Wow. I'm so behind, so many updates, LL!

Finally caught up. I'm so glad you got to eat at the Brown Derby. It is really one of my favorites, I love the Cobb Salad. I think it's adorable that you switched dinners.:lmao: At least you were both happy!

I haven't seen Fantasmic in so long! I love your pictures from that.:goodvibes

You should go again! It's so yummy. I don't like the heat at all. I melt.

Oh yes, it's much better if you say it out loud! We kept saying it to each other all night.

This totally reminded me - I almost got these on my trip too but ended up opting for some other ears instead. But I was making them bop around all over the place when I tried them on.
They are so much fun to bop. The kitties loved them when I brought them home.

I did! I did!! :cool1: And it's even at a normal time - 11:50 for lunch!

I am so happy that you got an ADR! I hope it lives up to my drooling reviews. You should try to fit in Fantasmic. It's really great and worth the see!

It was cute, just like out of a movie. :lovestruc I am glad you are caught up! I missed your witty comments!

Day 3. Part 4.

Extra Magic Hours had begun and we were feeling good. DHS was still fairly crowded so we decided to kill some time in some shops while everyone was still exciting Fantasmic.

At about this time Marc asked me a question, "Do you want to eat our desserts?" We hadn't gotten a chance to eat them yet, we were too amazed by Fantasmic to eat. I wasn't hungry at the moment and wasn't too worried about it. So we started to go to the shops. First up was the Villian Shop. I had so much fun in there looking at all the great Villian products. They even had a DHS magnet and in the contained some of them still said MGM. I almost bought one but didn't. I should have. I did by this really cool Villian Book, it's the case files on the Villians and they have all this cool info. I was very excited about it. They also had these other books where it tells stories from the original point of view, like Ariel and then you flip the book over and it has Ursula's point of view. I should have gotten one of those too, they were really neat.

We went to a couple more shops and all the while, Marc keeps asking me if I want to eat dessert. I will never pretend to anyone that I have a lot of patience but after the 3rd or 4th time I had it. I freaked. He was interupting my high from Fantasmic! I was like FINE LET'S EAT. It was too dark to take pictures so that annoyed me. His preoccupation with the desserts was annoying. I told him if he was sick of carrying them around then throw them out. I was also concerned about having them out in the heat too long. He didn't want to throw them out, he wanted to eat his. Fine. So I grabbed the bag from him and started shoving mouthfuls of mine in my mouth. Even though I was angry, it was good. If he would have said he wanted to eat his that would have been fine, but asking me if I wanted to eat mine over and over is truly annoying. Just tell me what you want to do! We sat on a bench in front of the hat. The music was so loud at that point that we couldn't even talk to each other. It was really loud. Maybe they were just trying to get everyone out of the park but it was LOUD. Which was probably a good thing at this point because it allowed us to cool down. We aplogized to each other and moved on.

We decided to get some water and Marc went to brave the line. It took like 15 mins. I guess water was a hot commodity at this time of night. I went into some shops by the Animation Courtyard. I was also suprised to learn that Playhouse Disney does this dance party during EMH Evening hours. It was cute, they had the doors open so I could see in and hear the DJ. They were having contests with the kids and characters were there dancing. I couldn't believe how many kids were up that late and dancing but good for them! They were on vacation.

We decided to do the Animation Studio. We had to wait about 10 mins for the next show to start, Marc said it was too long to wait for that. When are they going to update this!? I love you Mushu, but it's time to go. You could tell our CM wasn't that into it either.

Afterwards we played around in the animation area. We did the character test.

I was....

There were quite a few people waiting for the Animation lesson. I had wanted to do it, but I was getting tired and in my tired fog I decided we didn't have too. I did take more pictures on the way out though.

The Academy Award for Ferdinand the Bull. I love this cartoon, I need to get a copy of it. I was suprised that the Academy Awards were a bit dusty.

Then we poked around the art store. I really wanted to get a poster but still couldn't find one I liked.

We went to Voyage of the Little Mermaid next. We were one of the last people to get into the waiting area. We didn't wait very long either just a few minutes. I just love this show, Marc had no idea what to expect either and he really enjoyed it as well. Plus it gave us time to say hello to family...Ursula aka my grandmother. Hehehehe. For those of you who don't know, I call my grandmother Ursula. My cousins and I have since we saw The Little Mermaid. She looks just like and acts just like her. And no. I am not kidding.

We decided to check out TSM one last time. We figured maybe the line had gone down. Nope! 50 minute wait. No thanks again.

At this point we were exhuausted and decided to head out.

On the way out though, we stopped at 3 different photopass photographers.

The Pop bus line was jammed packed. The was the longest bus line we encountered all week. There were 4 different people waiting in those things electric thingys. What the heck are they called? I am having a brain fart. You know what I am talking about. Anyways. One bus pulls up and the first three load up. I am thinking NO WAY are we getting on this bus. Just then another Pop bus pulls up and pulls up right along side the other bus. There is no room for the other lady in the electric thingamabob to load. She starts freaking out. FREAKING OUT. Saying it's not fair and yada yada yada. I wanted to tell her it's not fair to everyone else to have to wait precious disney minutes for them to load all the time. I bit my tongue. I was tired. I realize this makes me sound like a bad person but look at how long everyone else has to wait all the time, and for someone who usually gets on first to be complaining like that was a bit ridiculous. The CM also told her that the other bus had already left Pop and was heading to her right then. So it wasn't like she had to wait for those two buses to come back. We ended up standing on the bus on the way back.

We were back at Pop in our room at 12:45AM. We decided to continue with our nightly tradition of taking a swim. The 50's pool was pretty crowded so we decided to head over to the Hippy Dippy Pool. There were people swimming but it was too bad. I just couldn't believe how LOUD the kids were. It's after 1AM and they are screeching and hollering. I would be so mad if they were keeping me up at that time while I was trying to sleep. The parents said nothing the entire time either. I know it's Disney but it's also after 1AM!

We recapped our day like we normally did while swimming. We both had to drool over Brown Derby so more and even contemplated trying to get an lunch ADR for our next day there. We also had some planning to do. The previous evening while swimming we had discussed making a change in our plans. Our original plan was to go to Animal Kingdom the next day. Since we had arrived, I wasn't feeling it. This was scary and abnormal. I love the Animal Kingdom but I was overwhelmed by going there. Call me crazy, but I was. We had decided the night before that we might not go to AK. Of course, I told Marc I wanted to think about for the day and then decide because I always reserve the right to change my mind. We discussed waking up for rope drop and that sounded like torture to me, but I didn't want to go later in the morning either. If I was going to AK, I wanted to go at rope drop and be done by lunch time. Sure, there were other mornings we could fit this in but I was tired and it was vacation afterall. Marc had never been to AK so that was weighing heavily on my mind as well. We discussed and weighed out the pros and cons together deciding that....

....we would............

...................................................

NOT be going to Animal Kingdom in the morning. Crazy, huh? We decided that later in the week if we wanted to go, we could fit it in on another morning. I was happy with this decision. I really wanted to go to Downtown Disney and it looked like we could go the next day.

We got back to our room, showered and ate our chocolate cake leftover from Sunday. I updated my trip notes and finished writiing them at 2:46AM and headed to bed.

Would I wake up regretting our decision?
Do we go to AK afterall?
How were we going to get to the Poly for our romantical evening?

You are spoiling me with Sunday night updates! :goodvibes Another good one... as always!

I like shopping in MGM (yes, MGM it will always be to me!). That villan book you bought sounds really cute. I hate regretting not purchasing something! There's always next trip for those other items you didn't get.

I amazed at kids stamina for things like dance parties and swimming after midnight. Too bad they can't bottle that energy!!

I really like the tradition you and Marc have developed of debriefing on the day and planning the next while night-swimming. I know what you mean about "the plan" weighing heavily on you and not feeling it. Sometimes I think we don't do ourselves any favors with all of this obsessive planning b/c afterall even though I have every single one of my meals mapped out, how the heck do I know what I want to eat 3 weeks from now? I think you have to make room for those game day decisions.

Cliff hanger!!

A romantical evening at the Poly sounds divine. I am becoming obsessed with that resort!

Great update!:) I have never done the emh at DHS. I am glad that the dessert was good. You also gave me a great idea to go swimming late at night. It seems like a perfect way to end a busy day. The villians store is really cool. We were just talking about going there. I am all about shopping!;)

Then we poked around the art store. I really wanted to get a poster but still couldn't find one I liked.

What? No gratuitous mention of TK?

DID YOU AT LEAST THINK OF ME??????????? ;)

In all seriousness, thank you, thank you. I love that picture! I did see some Jack artwork in my travels, but not this one, and I love that grin. Tink knows why. ;) ;)

Wow! I can't believe all those kids were out there at 1 a.m.!

What a nice way to end each evening, with a swim. Sounds perfectly magical! :wizard:

Great update! I love how your husband kept asking if you wanted to eat the dessert, that is just like a man. That totally sounds like something DH would do!

Lovely update to go along with my chocolate chip muffin and coffee. :goodvibes

I would have been annoyed at the whole dessert thing also. :headache:

:rotfl2: about seeing family at The Little Mermaid! Do you ever start humming Poor Unfortunate Souls when "she" is around?

I do hope that you made it to Animal Kingdom sometime during the week that you were there!

Great Update AGAIN!!! I can't wait to see what is coming next!!!! I have to agree with you on the decision not to hurry up for AK......but something tells me you will be visiting there later in the week.

I have to agree with everyone else...Great update!!! :thumbsup2 But I'm looking forward to more. :goodvibes
