It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

We went to Everything Pop, bought our refillable mug, 2 waters and a snack for each of us. I bought nerds and Marc bought some mixed nuts. We also had the joy of trying our first slushie coke. Yum! DH toasted the TK clan for us!

On the way back to our room, I took some pictures of the 50's area.

I also spotted a fellow DISer's room window! Bentleygirl22. I was jealous of her mad decorating skills. It's not a great picture but you get the idea. I am too lazy to edit it and flip it the right way. Photobucket is not my friend recently.

Once we had gotten back to the room, we changed and went swimming. It had stopped raining. *Rolls eyes* The swim was very nice. I was commenting on the great shape of the pool and DH looks at me funny. Sigh. He didn't realize it was a bowling pin shape. How do you not see that? I asked him what he thought the bowling balls were for on the side of the pool and he goes, "What bowling balls?". Men. Pfffft. It was a nice swim, relaxing and the rain stayed away.

After the swim we showered and checked out the Pop food court for the second time for that day. DH got the Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread and I got the Chicken Fingers with french fries. We both got the mixed fruit bowls.

DH really liked his flatbread, I had a bite of it but thought the flavoring was a bit strong. While I liked it, I know I couldn't have eaten the whole thing because of the flavoring. The chicken fingers were okay, nothing great but edible so that's a plus. The fruit was really, really, REALLY good. It tasted so great and just really hit the spot.

During our trek through Epcot I developed a strong feeling about Vera and that was that she was not Disney material. Don't get me wrong, I love Vera, I even bring her to work everyday but she was just too cumbersome for the parks. I know. I know. DH now refers to me as the bag lady with bag drama. We ventured into the Pop gift shop to check out their bag offerings. We came away with a cute little backpack thingy for $19.95. DH informed me once I picked it out that he had a bag at home just like that and why didn't we bring it? I told him that I had no idea such a bag existed at our house and that he should have told me. Pffft. I happily bought my new backpack and also a $6 water bottle carrier thing. Ridiculous amount of money but it's cute. It's on a carabineer clip and it holds a bottle of water with a Mickey head shape doohickey. I don't know how to describe it. You are going to have to wait for pictures, we took some of the bag on the next day. I am not that nice to share everything all at once. ;)

Another picture along the way.

IMG_0449.jpg

After we got back to the room, DH noticed that our towel rack was broken so we called Mousekeeping/Maintenance and they said they would come by to fix it tomorrow morning.

Overall, we had a good first day. We were both very tired at this point and thought it was a good idea to come back to the room instead of staying for Illuminations. We had to get up early the next day for a certain park opening and an ADR. Oh and in case you were wondering, even though I was worried about not taking enough pictures because of the rain, my first day I took 122 pictures. It's a disease.

Does our wake up call work?
Do we make our ADR on time?
Who gets chosen to open a certain land?

Holy double post, Batman!

That was a LONG one!

But I loved every word. I'm so enjoying reading about your adventures, and I know you weren't pleased with it, but I think DH's opinion of Beverly is priceless. Funny how he couldn't catch you reaction as well... :rolleyes1

Pop looks like it was a fun resort. I forget how much I love the 50s section, with Lady and the Tramp, and it's so pretty at night. Much less hectic than the 60s where I was last year.

And about Living with the Land...I know you'll probably laugh at me, but there is SO a reason that thing needs fastpass. Honestly, I enjoy that ride, but haven't been on it in years...why you ask, TK? Because the line is so LONG!!!! It has been outright ridiculous, and it's fun to see the cool vegetables, but not that fun, people. Moving on. :lmao:

Great that you got to meet up with Crissy. Must have been so cool to see a Lapuette in person!:thumbsup2 And, I, as well, mourn the loss of LGMH. Alas, poor LGMH...LL knew you well. You parted all too soon.

Can't wait to hear more!

Edit: Hey, thanks for the props on the slushie cokes!

Sounds like a great first day---with a few minor speedbumps!!! Oh, I wish there was more right now!!!! But I know how long it takes to get everything updated and pictures set, so I will be patient!!!! Or WILL I?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I have fear of potential bag drama! I'm studying my options like a mad woman...

Yay i found your trip report!

On a side note relating to the teeth whitening. The most horrendous thing i've EVER seen at an airport was...

A grown man...in a suit and tie...with the whole business luggage thing..

Picking his nose and then proceeding to put it in his mouth...and then he spit (the booger) out onto the floor...OF THE AIRPORT.

Mind you this is the middle of the airport public area..

But moving on and putting that memory back into the "i almost threw up that day" repressed area. I'm loving your report and your pictures, that and your bad hair day is better than my good hair days ;_;

Great update!!! I am really enjoying reading your report! I can't wait to see the backpack you bought and the water bottle holder. I love seeing the souveniers that people buy from Disney, but sadly, not many people take pictures and post them. :sad2: I wish more poeple took pictures of the stores. One thing I love to do is shop, and sadly, on all my trips, I haven't really had much time to do it as we are too busy running around riding rides!! We have an upcoming trip in December, first time in 13 trips I am going around Christmas, and this time I have planned extra time to shop!! Anyway, I love looking at pictures of the items in the stores, especially the housewares, it kinda gives me an idea of what I might want to buy when I am there. Call me silly! Anyway, I am really looking forward to getting some Christmas ornaments this time. Is it just me, or has Disney dropped the ball on their online shopping sight??? There is like never anything on there! I mean sure, there are stuff, but when you think about how much stuff they sell in the parks, why can't they give us more of a supply online?

Anyway, sorry for hijacking, keep up the great work and I can't wait to hear more!!!

Wow what an update! I am currently trying to kill the second last day of work before our trip and what better way to kill some time than reading a fabulous update on someone else's trip :thumbsup2

I love living with the land. We missed that one our first year and when I discovered it last year I was really excited. However, I have never seen a line there so I also do not understand the need for FP :confused3

Hi Crissy and LL!!!

I think he kind of looks like he's about to spit it right back into that lil' cup.

Favoritest. Living. Seas. Thing. EVER.

[We walked on Living with The Land. Why oh why do they have fastpasses for that ride? Why? What is the reason? They have fastpasses for Living with The Land but not POTC? Nuts. Rant over.

Then it would surprise you to know that the last time I was there there was a 90 min. wait and the FPs were gone for the day already, huh? ;)
Seriously!
But I'm with you. I love this ride too and would also like to do Behind the Seeds.
I remember it being completely different when I was younger and I am pretty sure they have updated it but it's just plain silly now. Not cute and fun like it used to be.

I think this might be THE most lamented ride in Epcot history. The original was the best. Then they updated it with a version that Made. NO. Sense. Then this incarnation, which, I agree, is Meh.

I also spotted a fellow DISer's room window! Bentleygirl22. I was jealous of her mad decorating skills. It's not a great picture but you get the idea. I am too lazy to edit it and flip it the right way. Photobucket is not my friend recently.

O.M.G. I SO want to decorate our door.

DH now refers to me as the bag lady with bag drama.

Hm. Better than the Shoe Lady with the Shoe Drama.
::coughcough::
TK.
LL.
TINK.

GREAT update!

:flower3:

It sounds like the day was fun! I'm so glad that I got to meet up with you. It's just too bad I had to leave to go back my bags for the trip home. boo!

A new bag too? Such bag drama!

YAY!!! I am in!

First off... some people that take a trip believe that once they are on the flight they can do what they want, because they paid for the seat....This guy seems to be the king of that! The Crest strips part though was nasty and totally classless! There is one on every plane... Sometimes you get two...or three.... :goodvibes

Did you two tell him to "Rock on!"? :lmao:

Ouch!!! That stinks! I am sorry about the lady hitting you in the head with the compartment door.

And Squinty lady sounds like quite the lady....

Your room looks awesome!!!

mmmm.... I love a good cheeseburger!

The tie dyed cheesecake does look like playdough... but the yummy kind you can make in your kitchen and eat!
:lmao: We should have told him to rock on. That would have been really funny!

Welcome! How was your trip?

Holy double post, Batman!

The line wasn't long at all, in fact the fast pass return time was like 15 minutes from when you got it, if I was reading the clock correctly. I can't imagine a crazy line for that.
I had to try a slushie coke for you! It was a must do on this trip and it was very very yummy!

I really enjoyed it. I was sorry it ended. :goodvibes
More to come, more to come. :goodvibes

:lmao: You are just going to have to be patient. My house is in such a state of chaos that I must spend some time organizing tonight, I can't stand the mess any longer. :rotfl2:

I have fear of potential bag drama! I'm studying my options like a mad woman...
Dude. Shoe drama, bag drama, so not fun! Test out any contenders extensively before your trip!

That is just so disgusting. I would have thrown up if I saw that.
Thanks for the hair compliment, my hair got better as the week went on but still. Stupid hair.

I already took pictures of my souvies to share! I probably won't share them until the end though. I had such a blast at the Christmas store, we bought two ornaments and I could have bought 50! So many of them were so cool.

Glad I could help you kill some work time! ;) I am glad I am not the only one to not see a line at Living with the Land!

Great update LL!!!

I love all the picures, especially the pictures at Club Cool! I can not wait to read more!!!
I loved Club Cool, we wanted to go back but we never had a chance too. Sad.

:flower3:
:lmao: I laughed out loud at the image of DH spitting the soda back in the cup. :lmao:

I think you and TK have the Curse of Living with the Land. :lmao:

I felt like my window decorations were completely inadequete! I will have to fix this the next trip.

Shoe Drama, Bag Drama, Hair Drama....I have it all! Lucky Me.

It sounds like the day was fun! I'm so glad that I got to meet up with you. It's just too bad I had to leave to go back my bags for the trip home. boo!

A new bag too? Such bag drama!
Total bag drama. I agree, our meet was way too short but lots of fun!

I have that Mickey water bottle holder.....it's on my Crocs bag right now.
It's a great little thing. DH also put it on his belt loop during the week as well. :thumbsup2

You can count me in as a witness to crazy long lines at Living with the Land.....Now if you were talking about that Norway ride having FP I would agree as I have never seen a line there worth of FP.

You have to vet out a park bag like it was your running mate (NOSarahPalin). I love my Crocs bag....it goes everywhere with me.

Alas, we have not reached the Norway portion of my trip yet. ;)

I brought Vera to work with me everyday and tested it out shopping too. I really thought she was a keeper. It was very sad parting ways with her during Disney. Oh well. She has resumed going to work with me everyday.

At least this way she stayed nice for work and shopping trips like a good girlfriend.

The shoes I wore last trip were CHAMPS!!! Teva Terra-Fi's---AWESOME!!! So comfy--needed no socks, so they were cool----and NO BLISTERS!!!!!

I used a Vera hipster this trip---it was the best bag I have used so far, but I think I might use something else next time---just not sure what?!?!?!?!?

I used a Vera Messenger Bag which I love it was just a bit bulky. Maybe the hipster would work better. I just fear it wouldn't fit all my "stuff".

Okay--how much "stuff" did you actually carry around with you each day?

My camera which is much bulkier than a regular point and shoot. My gorillapod, my wallet, our ponchos, my pins, my itinerary, extra batteries and memory cards and bandaids. I think that is it. Yep, I am pretty much a pack mule.
