It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

Okay...I lied. I didn't update tonight. I completely blame Zzub's trip reports, they are fantabulous even though I joined the party way late.

I am currently working on my revamped itinerary and am confused. Shocking? No. TourGuide Mike is confusing me, I don't know yet if I like him but in a moment of weakness I subscribed and now he is confusing me. I think I have more flexibility to "tweak" and what he says does make sense. Hmmmm....to do or not to do that is the question.

Yeah I know I have a lot on my plate, chill until after the wedding, oh no. This Disney trip has been my distraction of the wedding hoopla all along and I will not abandon what has worked in the final hour.

I am off to obsess! :goodvibes

Tour Guide Mike worked great for me, I followed his best days and we avoided crowds and lines during the very busy pre-Easter week.

I've never purchased TGM. I know it's supposed to be really helpful, but it totally goes against my wing it attitude for this trip, and I've read so many mixed reviews. Either people love his service or they're totally meh about it. I know for myself, it would stress me out more. I did take a look at the sample from a different site of best days and sort of plan around that, but I'm sure once we get there we'll totally disregard.

However, I think that LL likes her distractions from the wedding, in which case I say more power to you! But if it involves switching all your ADRs or something, I'd be very, very reluctant to do so. Every time I've had a must plan moment and tried to switch some things around, every thing I want is booked solid.

Just want to spare you some stress, hon!:goodvibes

I bought TGM for this trip....never again.....not worth it IMO. LL if there is something you would like me to look at for you on TGM PM me. Even thou I won't buy it again I'm pretty good with the site. Plus I have other resources.

That's what I want to hear!!

So far so good, no moving of the ADR's. There is only one I kinda want to move but I haven't yet. With less ADR's comes less stress for LL. ::yes::

I poked around on the website really late last night, which explains why I am just now getting up and I really like some of his tips so I think I am going to incorporate those into our touring plans. Thanks for the offer though!

TGM really help me plan so that we had a more relaxing, less commando style vacation. Whenever I would start to feel like I needed to cram more activities into our itinerary I would go read his vacations articles.

I am going to read more of them. We don't really have anything planned this weekend except to pack our suitcases...you know what that means....DIS DIS DIS! :lmao:

As we all know I have recovered from Wedding Brain. The one benefit to my Wedding Brain was that I am even happier with the new & improved itinerary. Who thought that would be possible? Alas, an itinerary is just an expanded list and we know how I feel about lists. :cloud9: I do have some questions that I am going to post at the end so maybe you gals can give me some feedback.

Questions:
Any suggestions for me for fireworks/parades/shows in general since I really have never seen any of them? Romantic viewing spots?
Plan of attack for MNSSHP? I have seen a times and guide on TourGuide Mike but I like to hear things from those that I trust. :goodvibes
Any fantabulous CS places that you can suggest to DF and I?

I am pretty happy with this new itinerary, the only thing that frustrates me is that I couldn't get an earlier time for Kona Cafe but I think I am going to keep trying and if I have too I will when I get down there too. I am very much looking forward to our "romantical" evening. DF laughs whenever I call it that.

We always go for burgers at Pecos Bill's CS in MK.....they have a huge toppings bar so you can pretty much make a salad on the side. I also like Cosmic Ray's in MK.
And Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney is a must. The line is long but they move fast.
In Epcot we usually hit the Yorkshire County Fish & Chips stand.

Ariel’s Grotto(before 10:30)

I'm assuming that you are going for pictures and autograph with Ariel. The year I made DH have his picture taken with every princess we could find we went here. We got in line 15 minutes before her first session and I couldn't believe how the line grew behind us.

Earl of Sandwich is where I want to go when we got to DTD. The pictures I have seen of those sandwiches make me drool! :rotfl2: I am leaning towards Yorkshire County Fish & Chips but DF would like something else so we will probably go to two different places. I haven't tried Pecos Bill's, thanks for the tips!

It's the princess in me. We'll see how I feel that day. Most of those attraction lists are not do or die, they are I would like too, we'll see. If that makes sense. :goodvibes

Oh, wow! Those lists!

...Can I confess something? I like lists, but short ones. My eyes start to glaze over when they get over 10 lines or so. I :worship: your listy ways!

Earl of Sandwich does have good sandwiches, and yes, the lines move quickly. We ate there once and also got sandwiches to go on our way to the airport. :thumbsup2

The horror!! :rotfl2: I generally prefer short lists when it comes to cleaning, grocery shopping and paying bills. Yep, I have lists for all of those. :faint: It gives me a sense of accomplishment. Yeah...that's it. ::yes::

I showed DF the new and improved itinerary this morning. Obviously the previous 62 versions didn't click in his head because he was concerned that I had "kid" rides on the list. Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh and Snow White's Scary Adventure to name a few. The man drives me nuts. Then he was concerned about Dumbo and promised that I wouldn't make him ride it. I think his concern is that he won't fit in the rides. He's a bigger guy and he hates to be embarrassed thanks to a comedian that shall remain nameless. Let's just say the comedian picked on him so badly that people came up to him after the show to say they couldn't believe how awful it was. Anyhoo....he's worried. I have showed him the pictures on allears of the ride vehicles and the only one I was super concerned about was Space Mountain so we both agreed we wouldn't go on it. I have my concerns too, I'm a tall bigger gal but when I went in 2005 I don't remember it being a problem. Granted I did not go on the three rides mentioned but others like It's A Small World, Pirates, Haunted Mansion. The point of this ramble is that DF is completely worried about fitting and starting to get anxiety about it. I am not worried about leg room cause DF has short legs *giggle*, his legs are shorter than mine *giggle*. It's more his belly area we are concerned about. How do I make him feel better? Any advice would be helpful as well. :goodvibes

He could read the "at large" articles on allearsnet....written by a big fellow.

Astro Orbitor is the only other ride then Space Mt. that I think I would be concerned with.

Oh and DH can always go thru the wheelchair gate instead of the small turnsils at some of the ride entrances

We have checked those out, which I found very reassuring, apparently he did not.

I told him that too. I keep telling him they are millions of plus sized people that go to WDW, that he's not the first or the biggest and he will be fine. It's another one of those, I told you so things. :rotfl:

:furious: Someone should slap that comedian upside the head and inform him that if he can't be "funny" without insulting people, he's not a comedian; he's a hack who tries to feel better about himself by making fun of others.

I think PassPorter's also has a section about touring the World as a person of larger girth. I haven't read it myself, but maybe you could look into it?

Really, from what I've read, WDW is just about the best park for accommodating people of all sizes, particularly with the newer rides. And on the whole, CMs will help out larger guests with no fuss and without calling attention to the situation. No "HEY STU! Open the wheelchair entrance because a guest WON'T FIT through the turnstile!" should he happen to be worried about that. :goodvibes

Seriously and he's fairly well known which makes it worse.

I tell him that, I think it's because it's always been such a big deal in his life (MIL always pointing it out to him) that it's hard for him not to worry. I told him the CM's will be very discreet. :goodvibes
