My two sons (13 and 11) jst returned home after spending the best vacation we'd ever experienced at WDW. We had a beautiful Courtyard view room at WL, and despite the rainy weather, it was absolutely the most fantastic vacation.
There truly is magic in the air at Disney, and I now find myself feeling kind of low and almost depressed.
Is this a common feeling for anyone else after they return home?
At any rate, we are saving up for our next trip, which cannot come soon enough.
I look forward to your responses.

Hi! Yes, it is very normal! So glad you had fun:teeth: Isn't WL just beautiful? I had a Courtyard view in April but it was of the Villas courtyard. Next time I'd love the Main Courtyard:earsgirl:
We ret'd on Monday and had zero rain for our 5 night stay, so I'm surprised at your comment abt. the weather...
Anyway, start planning for that next trip!!:wave2:

I know just how you feel! We returned home on the 4th of July, and it doesn't seem any better now than it did then!
I am scrounging around looking for anyway to get back to WDW!!

i know what you mean about coming home after a stay in disney. i find myself looking at the clock and thinking to myself that this time last week i was at the MK or eating at the hotel or just being at disney. it makes you want to plan a trip and go right back. i came home on july 17th and i'm still on disney time.

I hate coming home so much that I actually get depressed before we even go because I know the trip will be over so soon and then we'll be back home again. I have a lovely home, good family, nice job, and I know I am blessed by all of this, but there is just something about being at WDW! So, I get readjusted by doing scrapbook pages, listening to Disney music, watching videos, and surfing the DIS. Of course the best thing to do is to start planning your next trip!

I'm like that, too. Disney is the one vacation that I start planning a return trip as soon as I get home. I have been on other vacations, Hawaii, cruises, etc. where when I get home I think I can't wait to go back, but that feeling will subside. Disney, however, the feeling never goes away! I suppose that's why we're going back this fall.:cheer2: :cheer2: Enjoy planning your next trip. That is half of the fun!:)

We just returned on the 26th and I know exactly what you mean. All the planning and excitement is over. The only thing that helps me is that we're planning another trip for next July. Have to make good use of those APs.

Same here - we returned home on July 22 and I still am in Disney mentally. At the same time, I am planning next summer's trip. A whole year away is so hard to wait for!

We had cloudy, showery and, at times, downpours on Sunday the 18th through Tuesday the 20th but we just donned the ponchos and went on our way. It actually kept the heat at bay.

Sadly, my feeling is happening RIGHT NOW and we did not even leave yet. We look so forward to our vacation.

We leave on August 11th...and return home August 22nd. We are 11 days away....BUT.......

3 weeks from tomorrow...we will be home.

When you are away...its great...but reality sets in..and you know its time to go back home. ( Unless lightning strikes and we win the lottery. )

Then we return for Thanksgiving...Nov 24 - 28th.
After Thanksgiving it will be 261 more days until our annual August vacation in 05...( if the big guy upstairs wants.).

I am convinced my family is going through Disneyitis......we usually go to DL for spring break and WDW for the 4th but we skipped this year because of the kids sports. Boy is my family CRABBY!

Now I am having trouble planning our next trip because of the same reason........take them while they are young!!!!!

I get feeling down too, so you are not alone. This year's trip was a bit more crazy as we not only had our 5 1/2 year old but also it was our 6 month old's first trip. We had a great time but it was kinda nuts compared to our previous 2 trips with just our older dd.

We drove down and before we were even got out of FL I was trying to get dh to talk to me about our next trip, lol. He wouldn't (and still won't) entertain me and discuss where we might like to stay next time. So I come here and read-read-read and try to decide what I want and where I want to stay. :-)

Actually even before we even left, we went to a couple other resorts (WL and AKL as well as FW) to look around and get some ideas if we would be interested in staying there next time or for future trips. So I guess we were already somewhat planning for our next trip whether dh wants to admit it or not. :-)

But yeah, I do feel pretty blue after returning. We had an awesome view of the castle from our CR tower room. Boy, I miss that...

But here's to our next trip -- hopefully in a year or less...

Take care,
Deb*

We are planning to go in Sept '04 and it seems to help to have a plan for your next visit - I know we're going back July '05 and I'm already looking forward to planning that trip.

I hope you can return soon!

Thank you! I am not alone! I have been nearly depressed since coming home in early July! I haven't been able to put my finger on it but I was thinking it was because....

...we only spent 4 days and 3 nights which didn't afford us enough time to do everything we wanted.

...my DD (age 14) took a friend and we missed the family bonding and closeness with her

...we went to the beach after our 4 days and it certainly isn't as nice as WDW

...we are addicted to WDW!

In any event, we are blessed that we were able to convince ourselves that...

...our DD will be a freshman in 3 weeks and we need to spend some time quality family time with her

...our DS (age 8) was 'cheated' of some of the Disney Magic because we didn's stay long enough

...we are WDW and Disney fanatics and really WANT to go back!

So we booked everything and are packing and planning for a trip in August!

It sounds crazy...but it's always been well worth the trip...and we want more of the Magic!

I normally don't do things like this, but a higher power compelled me to go. Nutty? Don't think so!

If you are feeling the urge...make a plan, get buy in from the family and execute it!

I've been home since May and I'm still depressed. Doesn't look like we'll go back until 2006. When I need a Disney 'fix' I come here, look at pictures from previous trips, or dig out my planning guides and read/look at the pictures!!! I miss Disney :(

We just returned mid July and we feel the same way.......sad!:sad2: :sad1: I need to get my pictures done and into albums so we can look back at our fun! I am sitting here listening to Wishes and thinking about our days at WDW.

WOW!!!! are we all depressed today.
I felt the same way when we returned in January. The only thing that is keeping me going is to plan another trip. It was are first time and wow can't figure out why we didn't go before. I'm still planning and going on this web site everyday to help me keep the spirit alive. The one thing DH and I and the 3 kids do (which I got off this wonderful board) is you pick the park and then the ride you want you give the initials out. Everyone has to guess eg:Magic Kingdom, AG (ariel's grotto). This helps!!!!:earseek:

I'm happy to know i'm not the only one who is depressed after getiing home.lol we returned from our trip 7/22. it is just so magical there that it is really hard to come back to the same old same old.i just got our pictures back yesterday so that cheered me up and i'm planning our next trip next summer(unless i win the lottery then i'll go back sooner!) i also really enjoy going on the disboards and seeing everyones tips and such.

I, too, get depressed before we go because I know that we will have to leave. Usually, only other Dis'ers understand. I get sick when I look at my countdown, but I am thankful that we go every year.

This is why I started my ING account. I was originally going to pull the money out before our trip and spend it at WDW this trip, but then I thought about how awful it feels when I come home from WDW and Florida in general, so now my ING account is my next trip funds and I am actively saving and doing surveys and adding that money to next year's trip funds. So I will come back and come to the boards and continue in the saving and planning, and though my trip counter will be reset, at least I will be counting down with the rest of you and that will help to keep my spirits up (not to mention I am on vacation again in Vegas for a week in September)

I've named this phenomenon PDD, Post Disney Depression. Temporary relief comes in many forms; reading the Dis boards, listening to Disney park music (try Live 365), scrapbooking or making slideshows with your vacation pictures, watching your vacation videos (or the WDW planning video) over and over, the list could go on and on. However, I've found the only real cure is planning another vacation! Of course, then you risk coming down with MDD, Manic Disney Depression. You get excited about an upcoming trip, then you feel let down when it's over, so you plan another trip. You get excited about that trip, and then...well, you get the idea! Personally, it's a risk I'm more than happy to take!
