It's 65 degrees here in Dallas!

Yeah, I was pretty chilly today...it was a chilly 65 :)

Actuallly, I wouldn't mind the snow. It's only "snowed" once this winter and it wasn't even enough to cover the ground. Last year we actually had enough snow to build a snow man. No such luck this year.

Well, all the cold vibes you people sent this way seems to have just got here. It's coooooooooooooooooold. I got out of school and my mom and I decided to go out to eat. We were only there for maybe an hour and we came out and everything was ALL ICE! We saw it sleeting out the window but we didn't think it would get that bad that fast. It took us over an hour to drive less than ten miles! Schools are starting to close early, roads are being closed (I don't know why the sand trucks didn't come out to put sand on the bridges and over passes since they've known this was coming) and its just all nasty out there. Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Yup, all of our fellow Dallasites gloating about our great weather JINXED US!!!

Sleet, snow and ice now and in the forecast for tonight. The streets are slushy and the bridges are freezing. Rush hour this afternoon will be messy. This stuff is impossible to drive on- slick and invisible.

It's 27 now, and doesn't look like it will get any warmer for a day or two. Shiver!

What's that I hear, our midwestern and northeastern neighbors saying they have no sympathy? Grumbling that we shouldn't complain until we're shoveling three feet of snow??

Oh, well. We'll probably be back in shorts by the weekend! Bundle up till then, Aurora.

Okay, I'm not sure who to blame but between Sonja's bragging and Marsha's snow dancing we've got ice and very cold weather. Take it Back!

Janette, I tried pleading with them on another thread and for some reason they don't want to take it back:(

This stuff is just awful but the kids are jumping up and down, they love it. If it keeps up they probably will cancel school tomorrow.

<font color=navy>Hey, at least you didn't make anyone sick!!! :p ;)

It's almost that cold over here, Sonja!!!

We're just excited that we're going to actually get "weather" when it rains sometime today - if it rains sometime today. :teeth:

My 11yo DD says the 4th graders are supposed to take TEKS tomorrow. We've only been in LISD since 2001 and they've had no snow days but we'll see what it's like in the morning.

*ahem* JANETTE! One's friends are not supposed to remind others of their less-than-stellar moments. :p :p :p

I TAKE IT BACK!!!! I TAKE IT BACK!!!! NOW ALL YOU NORTHERNERS TAKE YOUR WEATHER BACK!!!!!!!!

Where's Marsha.......I knew that snow dance was bad news. :p

Does this mean I don't have to go to work tomorrow??? :teeth:

I don't know about you, but my 30 minute trip home took 1 hour and 20 minutes because of the ice. I, for one, plan to stay in tomorrow and not tackle LBJ.

I heard that it is suppose to freeze in Dallas. We are still above freeaing down here in Houston. Of course, if we do get ice or snow, the entire city will shut down. The last major snow storm was in 1989 and the last snow (it did not stick) was in 1994 or so.

Sonja!!! Apologize RIGHT NOW, young lady!

Hurry, before my toes get frostbite.

Come on Sonja apologize, I did:)

My sister in Illinois has no sympathy for me. She said it was 4 degrees up there with a windchill of -7.

I apologize too...the sleet just started pounding on my window again.

The sleet is coming down again here too. It's really Princess_Aurora's fault for reminding me Sonja. :p

Whoops! See what happens when I step away for a minute? :teeth:

I hereby and forthwith due humbly apologize to my fellow CBer's and any weather-type malevolent beings I may have offended with my ill-conceived remarks of a few days ago (do I need my attorney for this???) and due solemnly beseech all concerned for their forgiveness and forebearance of this duly chastised DIS servant. :o

I await your response with hopeful heart.

:teeth:

I'll forgive you as long as I can get to school okay tomorrow. They'll only close my school (I go to the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas) if DISD (and that's the entire DISD, not just a couple of schools in Dallas) officially closes.

Oh No.. is it cold there.. Gee. I am just so sorry about that.. This is what I think.. a certain little redhead got punished for bragging about how wonderfully warm it was in her neck of the woods.. I am just so darn sorry that the rest of you in the Texas area have to suffer because of that huge rubbing it in brag..

I cannot take the hex off.....I am not sure she was sincere in her apology...

Signed.. The strega

My Mahsha DOUBTS my sincerity?????? I am shocked......hurt..... APPALLED even..... that anyone would know me that well...... :p

but this time I am in earnest! I promise!!!!

PLEASE make the ugly frozen white death globs go away!!!!!!

Sonja, I thought that was a very nice apology.

But it sounds like you're going to have to work a lot harder to melt the cold, cold heart of your Boston buddy!!!
