Sonja - that was a very sincere apology. If they don't remove their nasty hex, we'll just have to remember them in July and send them some "real" Texas heat.
I think you are right Kathy... my heart is very cold right now.. we have had one of the coldest, most snowy winters I can remember...I am not sure if my heart can ever thaw out especially after my sweet little buddy rubbed it in about how warm it was in Texas when we were having a wind chill factor of 20 below.. So all I can say is.. SUFFER...
My labrador, Sambuca, just went out. She was in a big hurry to get back inside where it's warm, and she took a corner a little too fast. Our pool deck is completely iced over, a real skating rink.
See where this is going? She comes around the corner, FAST, loses her footing... and slides toward the pool. You should have seen her face!! I thought I was going to be fishing one frozen dog out of the water in the sleet/ice/junk that's falling!
She's okay, didn't go into the water, and probably thinks I'm crazy for laughing so hard.
(Mahsha, want to come down and go swimming with the dog tonight? )
DISD is OFFICIALLY closed tomorrow. That means I don't have school tomorrow either! I'm soooo releived because I really didn't want to have to drive in that crap.
At least two dallas lawfirms that I am doing deals with are closed today. Luckily, the attorneys at these firms are still sending out and reviewing documents over the internet.
Houston is missing the fun. We will be in the 40s all day with no freezing prec.
HEX??? HOw about an all out Curse!! Have you ever had a Cuban curse placed upon your head....missy
It is frigid here, we have had snow upto our eyeballs and that is not an exageration for someone of OUR tall stature...and school has not closed once. So, if you do not mind dear...I don't want to hear it
I have some pictures of my street, I'll have to post them for you guys. Its all white out there and it would be great if it were all snow but it's not...it's all ICE! We could probably get out of our garage if we wanted to, but our driveway slopes downward and its all iced over so we would probably just slide out.
We recently moved to Frisco (just too lazy to change my handle ) and the schools here are closed too. Of course my workplace, a certain large auto finance company on the tollroad , is open so I was forced to use a day of vacation. I did hear that none of the managers have come in however.
I didn't get off work until 6:00 PM yesterday and going home was interesting to say the least. There are tons of traffic lights between work and home and while stopping wasn't too bad after going only 10 MPH, getting going again was sometimes an exciting experience. "Come on car. Go straight car. Stay away from that pickup, back end!..."
I will officially say "This is silly"! I drove from Flower Mound to downtown Dallas this morning and had absolutely no problem. We just totally freak out. I left my subdivision at 7:00am and I was definitely the first set of tire prints.
My company is offering to put people up at the hotel next door but I am going to brave it again.
FLOWER MOUND/LEWISVILLE residents only-
I was driving down Gerault off of International Parkway last night and it was so bad they had trucks pulling every car up. It got to my turn and I told them I wanted to try myself since it did not seem that bad. Went up just fine (even in my 7 year old Toyota).
I just heard the storm that was supposed to hit tomorrow was delayed as well.
