DH drove to work yesterday (Flower Mound to north Plano) and had no problem. BUT- he also said he was the only one on the road then.

I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to drive if I knew I'd have the road to myself. But I travel LBJ every day with a lot of careless and rude drivers. Tailgating, suddenly slashing across 4 lanes of traffice with no signal, passing in the medians, all in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I don't want to get in the middle of all that on icy-slick streets! If everyone would drive friendly and use good common sense, I agree that this would be silly.

Thankfully, I am able to work from the house thanks to the miracle of DSL.

Here's hoping for a good melt this afternoon, and hoping you make it home to the family! (My street is looking slushy and wet out the window now, so I think we're out of the messiest part.)

I have to use Loop 12 to get to school...did you guys see it this morning??? It's the one that looked like a parking lot! And DH has to go down 635, but I don't know how bad that was. My mom, who hasn't been to work all week, has to go over the 121 overpass in Lewisville.

The ice is melting outside now though...it's about time because I HAVE to go to school tomorrow.

As I said before, all this would have been tons of fun if only it were snow. But nooooooooo. That hex was so strong that the snow we wanted just turned into one solid sheet of ice covering the metroplex.

At 6:45am I came down International Parkway to 121 to 635 to 35 and 35 to Inwood. I went about 55-75 the whole way. The roads are completely clear. Yeah!

Yep, I left 30 minutes earlier than usually just to make sure and there was absolutly no traffic. I got to school in the same amount of time it usually takes me. I've never been happier to be at school..I hated being stuck in the house.
