Okay it is only -26 but the wind chill makes it feel like -39:scared1: :scared1: ......How do you dress a child to go to school in that......

I sure hope the podcast today tells us what temperature it is in Orlando.:rolleyes1

I need a list of "As Cold as".....

...the surface of the moon....

I am sure John can come up some good ones....

Oh my! Our district says enough is enough with a -30 wind chill...which we might just get tomorrow and Friday. Only time will tell. ;)

Until then, off to work I trudge (I teach).

That is just not right!

I can't imagine negative temps. We're at 25 right now & I was freezing my butt off at the bus stop.

I thought 1° (-15° with windchill) :cold: was bad. :confused3

That feels like a heat wave compared to what you've got. They're predicting -10° by Friday. Is May here yet???

WOW...... I am feeling toastie with it being 19 degrees here in Mass. :cool1: Sounds like a good time for a hot drink ......:surfweb:

Was I the only one chanting shut up pete when he was giving his weather report on the podcast this morning?? :rotfl: When he started talking about the weather there in Orlando, I was driving to work...it was snowing...and the temps are below zero with the windchill. I was NOT a happy camper to hear the nicer temps.

But Kevin's shoveling sunshine comment had me rolling...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It's 12 here right now and tomorrow night it's going down to about 8. So - Pete - the low 60's doesn't sound too bad to me right now.

Yowzers on your temps!!!

I'm in NW FL and it was 28 on the way to work this morning. Thank goodness for heated seats. :)

I will go with this - I can't convert temperature today. Still on my second coffee. I am only a few hours east, it should be close.

Either way - I had to get out the woolies this morning! Good thing DH is willing to brave the cold in his jammies to warm up my car for me ;)

As cold as the green smoke surrounding Maleficent?

As cold as the icy stare from the Evil Queen?

Stuck your tongue on the fencepost cold?

It's a whopping 5 degrees here in Cleve-burg. Good thing I'm going to DisneyWorld in 10 days!

Those are great.....

Ottawa cold....

How can you be so much warmer in Cambridge..almost makes we want to move in Southwestern Ontario but then my in-laws are there.....so I guess I will take the cold.

I know what you mean.

It's a chilly 53 degrees here this morning.

I had to wear long sleeves when I walked the dog.

It's almost inhuman.

:lmao:

Sorry.....I just cant help myself.:lmao: :lmao:

I don't know if the OP is from Minnesota but it is around -8 with -29F windchill here. And for some reason the traffic slows waaay down when it is cold. Arg! But we are in for a heat wave next week - 30F!

I wish I was going to WDW in the next couple of months!

In day 5 of pure -40c (universal -40) I think -50 something with the wind. This isn't normal and it is the third cold streak. The podcast made me laugh as I dressed in 3 layers to walk to work. But I know it is all realtive....I have 4 emails this morning telling me how cold the Canadian South thinking I can relate...

-40, however is locally know as have the plumber and heating technician or speed dial weather (just knocked on real wood)

it colder out side than in the freezer
it cold enough to freeze the car themometer (most stop at -30)
it cold enough to steal the air out of lungs (I am dealing with cold induced asthma because it is too cold too snow the air wants moisture)
cold enough even the ravens are hibernating
cold enough to freeze the nose and eyelids shut (rather annoying)
cold enough to freeze to make ice roads (a good thing)
cold enough you cant see through ice fog to hoar frost covered trees

Did you get all that "Sunshine" shoveled? :lmao:

That was classic Kevin!

We're actually having a heat wave out here. It's been in the upper 80s for three days now!

Ottawa with a transit strike cold you mean!

I have an Uncle up there - he has to walk to Quebec before getting a bus the rest of the way to work. He's lost about 5 pounds so far!

and to Northern Julie - nice to hear from someone who understands the true meaning of cold...I had actually forgotten about "too cold to snow" since we are supposed to get a little of that today too.
