Since we are Military, we always bought our tickets the first night we were at Disney. But since the FP+ came out, that gave us a big disadvantage. We live in MN, and the closest base to us was in Wisconsin. I called that base and ordered our tickets. I asked how would they get my ID. They said they are
Walt Disney World Exchange Certificates. They do not check your ID on base, BUT when you go to Guest services in Disney, before they exchange them for a real ticket, you have to show your ID. So if you would buy the tickets for your family, but your parents are not going, you could not use them. The person that has the government ID has to be present to activate the tickets. There is a number on the back of the certificate that you can enter into your My Disney Experience Account. After that is done, you can make your FP+ selections 30 days out.Since you are off site, you will have to do this at the 30 day mark for each day. Hope this helps.
