I am buying our tickets from the ITR office. The way I understand it, I have to activate the tickets when we get to Disney. Am I able to book our fastpasses 30 days out even though they haven't been activated yet?

I am not sure what tickets you have, but if they are the military tickets, yes you can. We are staying on site, I linked all of our tickets last night. Do you have an MDE account. You do it through there. Go to link tickets and do what they say. Had some problems with the 0(zero) verses an O(letter), but once we got that figured out, we were good to go.

I haven't bought them yet, but in the past we have had to show proof of government worker ID at the gates for them to be activated. We are not military, my parents work on a government base as military contractors and can buy tickets at our local ITR office. We are staying offsite so I have not set up a MDE yet. Just wondering how all of this will work with the new fastpass+ .

Since we are Military, we always bought our tickets the first night we were at Disney. But since the FP+ came out, that gave us a big disadvantage. We live in MN, and the closest base to us was in Wisconsin. I called that base and ordered our tickets. I asked how would they get my ID. They said they are
Walt Disney World Exchange Certificates. They do not check your ID on base, BUT when you go to Guest services in Disney, before they exchange them for a real ticket, you have to show your ID. So if you would buy the tickets for your family, but your parents are not going, you could not use them. The person that has the government ID has to be present to activate the tickets. There is a number on the back of the certificate that you can enter into your My Disney Experience Account. After that is done, you can make your FP+ selections 30 days out.Since you are off site, you will have to do this at the 30 day mark for each day. Hope this helps.

My parents are going with us to Disney. I know the last time we went to Disneyland they did have to show ID at the gate to activate the tickets, but this was several years ago wasn't sure if things were still the same. Hopefully I will be able to enter the ticket information when I get them so we can reserve fastpasses at the 30 day mark.
