Here's a semifinal cut at the itinerary for our September trip. Would love for folks to look at it, find my errors, and suggest improvements.

Background:
  • We are mid 60s Disney fans. Have been coming since our honeymoon in 1982, including living in Orlando for 3 1/2 years.
  • We love the parks and rides, but don't like doing commando days. You'll see some hotel relax time every day.
  • We are staying at Beach Club.
  • Have currently decided to skip the free water park day on day 1, but it is still an option if we "feel it" when we arrive.
  • Only planning two sit down meals, and they are at restaurants we particularly like. The rest of the time we'll do quick service or EPCOT Food & Wine items.

Sounds like fun - can I come? 😉

Looks great to me. With low crowds at that time of year you should be fine! Ending almost every night near your hotel makes for an easy exit back to your room at the end of the night. That said, after at party at MK we slow walked out from BTMRR after riding at midnight, were on a bus by 12:30, and were in our beds by 1am. So, even that was pretty streamlined!

Love a beautiful colour coded sheet.

My comment would be whether you feel the need to hit any "must have" rides. If yes, might be worth slotting those specifically in. Alos, food for thought - you said you don't want to park commando, but you have MNSSHP as well as EEH on your schedule, with early mornings directly following. I would consider what a later start in the morning might mean to you in terms of schedule. If you stay out until midnight I think you might be hard pressed to make a 9 am start the next day if you're looking for a slower pace.

Good thought on slotting must rides.

I did put a little later start to the day after MNSSHP, but didn't for day after EEH days. For the 16th we can slide the whole schedule down if we want to sleep in. For the 18th, that's the day we leave anyway, so we are seriously debating just some BC pool before we head to the airport.

Good tips. Thanks !

I'm not sure what time the boats start leaving for HS, but it was later than when we wanted to be in line for rope drop and ended up walking from Dolphin. Easy walk - we are also in our 60s. I just advise knowing the boat schedule so you can adjust as need for the morning of HS if you are rope dropping. Enjoy!

That looks remarkably like the schedule we would make, if we made a schedule. Late 60's here.

We always hit rope drop, and we usually return to the resort in the afternoon for a swim and maybe a couple drinks, going out for dinner then a different evening park.

Probably the only change we'd make is after years and years of trips we have always found MK to be the slowest at rope drop on Sunday mornings, so we always go to MK on Sundays.
