Itinerary help -- is this doable??

Is it possible to show up at Disney Studios on a Thursday (March 4) after lunch and cover the park? We wanted to do EE at MK that day, but leave MK at lunch time. Since we don't do thrill rides (kids are too little) we were wondering if showing up at the Studios say at 2:00 or 3:00pm would be ok or too crazy. The main thing there for us is Playhouse Disney, and some of the shows.

We'll be staying at the Swan.

Any opinions?

I think you could probably do it but I don't think you'd enjoy it,we normally allocate a full day for MK,even taking Splash Mountain,Big Thunder & Space Mountain out there's still lots to fit in! MGM normally for us is a 3/4 day affair,I think for you to do it you would have to be really lucky with the show times & probably rushing from "pillar to post"!I assume that you are "stuck" for time?If so then I would suggest AK (if you're going) & MGM,although there is a lot of walking there is less to do than at MK. My opinion only but hope it helps SD

Hi Mainebound,

I don't think it's possible (in general) to show up after lunch and see many shows and attractions. For one thing, show times often conflict (e.g., one show will start at 1:15 p.m., and another at 1:30 p.m.). Another pitfall is that there are only a certain number of shows per day, and that number is ususally in the four to six range, spread out over the entire day.

The easiest way to ballpark this would be to check out the show times at Steve Soares' site, and see if there's any combination of shows that would allow you to see everything.

Can it be done? Most likely. Will you enjoy it? Not as much since you may have to sprint to catch some of the shows. Like Len mentioned the show times vary across the park and while we have hit all of the shows in the shortest amount of time it required a lot of fast walking and even a little sprinting. Not the most enjoyable way to see them. It is a long way from one end of the park to the other! If it is busy there is no way it can be done without a flat out run, and even then you may not get a seat.

I think its doable. Mainly because we did almost the same thing in Sept. (did it on arrival day, so we didnt get to the park till ~2)

If you have little kids they are not going to let you stop and smell the roses anyway. According to Steves site you can do PHD at ~2:45 (times may change slightly) then FPass Little Mermaid, stake out a site for the parade and watch, then do Little Mermaid, then hit Beauty and the Beast at ~5:15. Depending on your kids you can decide if Fantasmic is right for you. People start lining up about 90-120 min before. Muppets 3D is an option too. (My 3 & 4 yo wouldnt keep their glasses on. ) That would give you plenty of time in between attrations.

Our little ones didnt want to spend much time there, except for the above mentioned attractions, because this park is really, overall, for bigger kids. I think with young children 1/2 day is ideal.

My DD5 and I will actually be there the same exact day! Have fun!

Thanks everyone! We are actually doing MK on the wed and fri that week, so maybe we'll skip MK ee that day.

I've NEVER used ee in all my years of going to WDW and I guess I was just trying to see if I could do it this time!

sydnclaire's mom -- my kids won't wear the glasses for muppetvision either. Guess we'll recognize each other if we are at the same showing -- LOL!!
