I'm in the process of planning a family vacation for mid-November and need some help with logistics. On our first night (a Sunday), I've scheduled an early PS at Chef Mickey's. That same evening, I was hoping to do the Illuminations cruise. Will we have enough time to eat at a reasonable pace and still have time to greet the characters or will we feel rushed? If the timing will work, how should we get from the restaurant to the boat for the cruise (we'll have our own cars)? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We ate there for breakfast last year and we took about an hour. The Characters come to your tables while you eat so it shouldn't take that long.

What time is your PS and the Illuminations cruise?

Have fun,
Mike

Hi there..

EPCOT Ilumination Cruises leave from the Boardwalk or Yacht Club... but there are also cruises for the MK Fireworks that leave from the Grand Floridian (I think) which is just a quick monorail ride away from Chef Mickeys...

Here is a link with more info

Our PS for Chef Mickey's is 5 p.m. - I'm thinking it might be too early? I'm not sure what time the Illuminations cruise will be in mid-November. I understand that if we do the fireworks cruise, we can take the monorail, it is also run to where we need to board for Illuminations?

Last year, Illuminations was at 9 PM in November. PS at Chef Mickey at 5, leave for YC or BC about 6:30, get there by 7. Enjoy the Boardwalk and the grounds. You need to be by dock about 8:15 for 8:30 cruise.

MK firework cruises leave from each of the MK resorts, I think. I know we took one from the Poly in '99.

And welcome to the DIS!!!!!! Enjoy.

If you take the monorail to Epcot, it will drop you off at the front. You will need to walk THROUGH EPCOT (using a day of your pass) to get to either the YC/BC or BWI.

You are better off taking your car.

Good luck. I hope you're lucky enough to get the cruise.
