DH and I will be spending 4 days at WDW then going on a 3 day cruise on the Wonder. :cool1:

Since this will be my first trip to WDW I know I will want to by souviners at the parks but I really don't want to have to pack and carry them on the ship or on the plane when we fly home.

My question is. If I purchase something like a snowglobe will they ship it to my home address?

TIA for any and all replys.

Yes, they will! I do that every trip. The nice thing about this is not only do you NOT pay taxes on items shipped home, but you also have the pleasure of getting home and having a package from WDW arriving at your home a few weeks later. It's so fun unpacking the box!

I have learned to "stake out" as much as possible to ship at one time. Therefore you won't have to keep dropping the shipping charges.

They will also pack your items so carefully. I have never received anything broken or squished. :thumbsup2

Indeed. What disneyaggie said. Another bonus: If it arrives broken, it will be replaced for free. We always use this service to ship items we purchase while at WDW. The cost is negligible compared to the peace of mind you'll have.

I once shipped 50 bars of my favorite Norwegian candy bar home from Norway in Epcot. Yum! That was a great package to have waiting when I got home!

So if you want to ship all your purchases do you save them up and have them shipped/packed at your resort or do you need to take them elsewhere?
I know my SIL had a bunch of breakables shipped last trip but she did it from each store she bought from..so this added up to alot of extra shipping charges.
Thanks for the info

That is what I do. If I recall correctly, shipping amount based on dollar amount of goods and is calculated along certain intervals, although I do not know those intervals. Maybe someone can post the table used for determining shipping rates.

I just shipped a bunch of items back to our house from our last Disney trip. We could not take it all back with us! The cost was $15.95 for any total over $100 in cost. There is no higher cost - the max shipping cost is $15.95 (which was a great deal since we shipped a bunch of stuff!).

Last week I was told by the Gift Shop CM at POP to bring all my packages to the gift shop to have shipped home and not the front desk. She said the gift shops base the shipping charges on the purchase amounts as opposed to the front desk using the weights.

We waited until the end of our trip to have everything shipped. They tell you it takes between 10-14 days UPS Ground but I received one package in 5 days and the other is slated to arrive tommorrow, so 6 days not counting the weekend.

One other note. It did take the CM a little while to complete all the paperwork and take care of everything. So if you wait until the end of your trip to ship, set aside a little bit of time and be patient with the CM.

Wonderful! Thanks for the info, I have no doubt our total will be more than $100 and probably lots of breakables since my DD wants a bunch of stuff from the store in Japan!

I am planning on getting some Christmas ornaments shipped home! I am glad to hear that you can save your purchases and have them all shipped at once! I guess the only downside to that is that you do still have to pay the sales tax.

Thanks for all the replys everyone. This will really make things much easier.

I need to double check my receipts, but I think when we took everything to the gift shop, they did a return and a resale. I believe they took away the tax and added the shipping. Don't quote me on this yet. I'll check when I get home and post confirmation.

Oh my goodness ! This is a great ideas. We always but some dishes and glasses and I always have to worry abouthow I will get them home. I guess this year it will be POP that helps me get them home and not Frontier Airlines.

You really do learn somethingnew here everyday !! THanks guys !
