Itchin' For Some Fun...12/10/09 - 12/14/09...Finished 3/17

What an amazing time at MVMCP!! :goodvibes I think that I "aw"-ed out loud when you were talking about you and Tom becoming kids again at the parade.

People who don't "get it" are missing out on so much! Who wouldn't want to be a kid again for a little while? :confused3 Thanks so much for reading!

When I left off, we had finished up the MVMCP and gone to bed for the last time on this trip. Magical Express wasn’t picking us up until 3:00, so we had a good part of the day to do something. Originally I had thought about going to Animal Kingdom, but earlier in the trip we decided to just spend the day at Downtown Disney.

We got up, showered, and started packing up the room. That was quite an adventure! I thought we had left enough room in our suitcases for souvenirs, but as we started packing, I was convinced we weren’t going to be able to do it. Several times, I offered to go to Everything Pop and pick up another carryon. Somehow, though, Tom managed to get everything into the bags we had. He’s amazing at that kind of stuff!

We took one last look around the room and then left for the last time. We made our way over to Classic Hall and then outside to the desk where you check in your bags for the airline. We were also able to leave our carryons there until Magical Express came for us. With that done, we took our mugs and the Main Street Bakery cinnamon roll into Everything Pop and had ourselves a nice breakfast.

While we ate, Tom took care of a few work-related calls and I people watched. Then we rinsed our mugs, stashed them in the backpack, and went out to the bus stop. There was a bus waiting for us, and in no time at all, we were at Downtown Disney.

Our first stop was the Design-a-Tee shop.

Tom loves the show “Phineas and Ferb” and really wanted a Perry the Platypus shirt. We had looked all over Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios but were unable to find any. We thought maybe he could design one here; however, they also had nothing for us.

We continued on, taking some pictures as we went.

Next, we went into Pin Traders.

I picked out two pins to remind me of our trip.

...continued in next post...

Next we went into Once Upon A Toy.

I had wanted to fill a box with Mr. Potato Head parts for our granddaughter, but we were really disappointed with the selection. Everything was picked over, and we decided to skip it.

I glanced into TrenD was afraid to go in!

Next stop was Team Mickey.

We picked out a tshirt for Lee and a cute tote bag for Sarah.

Next we went into World of Disney.

Here’s what we got there.

For Rilynn (granddaughter):

For me:

Now is a good time to tell you that we have a Disney Visa and for the last year (since our October 2008 cruise) I had been using the card to pay for just about everything (and paying it off at the end of the month) except our mortgage so that I could accumulate points. By the time we went on this trip, we had $715 in points!!! We used them to pay for the MVMCP, my adult beverages, and our souvenirs. So anyway, when we paid at World Of Disney, after our Visa discount and the rest of our reward points, we paid $15. It was the first “real” money we had spent so far, so that was pretty amazing!

We were pretty hungry by this point, and I really wanted to try Wolfgang Puck Express, so we headed over that way.

There is a bathroom right outside the restaurant, so I headed in there to wash my hands. You can’t really tell how sore they were, but here is a picture of the rash on my hands.

Next up…lunch and the rest of our day…

Great update! I need to get going on mine!
TrenD- I actually really like some of the stuff in there-jewelry, pjs, purses.
Rash- I have gotten Golfer's vasculitis on my legs in summer. Is your rash from the sun?
WPE-:lovestruc Can't wait to see what you got!
Your dh- What a good sport, posing for those pics!

Okay, finally got myself all caught up!

I'm glad the parade didn't end up cancelled for y'all at MVMCP. I think I probably would have had a meltdown on the spot if that would have happened! I get very upset very quickly when things don't go as planned! And what a bummer about Space Mountain being down too. It seemed to happen a lot that week!

Your poor hands! Hopefully you figured out what was up and were able to treat it. I think I have a very mild latex allergy, because when I start wearing the gloves too much at work, my hands get red and irritated to the point where it burns to put them under water. Which as a nurse, I do A LOT! Not fun.

I'm sad to see this journey coming to an end :sad1: You really got some great souvies and an even greater way of paying for them! I wonder what the rash is on your hands :confused3 My oldest son was in the emergency room last week twice for a rash on his legs and at first we thought it might be diabetes related (it runs in our family and he's been told to go to his doctor to have it checked). But they said it was folliculitis and gave him antibiotics and ointment. It's gone away but he has blisters on the soles of his feet & between his toes now. Ick!

I hope you find out what is wrong and that it isn't serious. Downtown Disney is a great way to spend your last day so you don't feel so rushed. We have done AK twice on our last day and I think I will take your tip and go to DTD.

How sad that we are on your departure day :(, but I am always up for shopping pictures! I really like the Santa Yeti and the bag underneath it! Maybe we can bring a Santa Yeti home in 2011. :lovestruc

I picked out two pins to remind me of our trip.

THis looks extremely familiar to me right now. I just posted the same feathered friends on our TR this morning (or last night, I can't remember), except mine had two little crawly bug girls at the bottom.

I like your pin choices. The pins are becoming of more and more interest to me, since they are a nice small travel-friendly non-perishable reminder of the trips.

Those pins are perfect for your trip!! And WOW that you only had to pay $15 oop for the entire spending money during the trip!!!! :dance3: That's just incredible! It looks like you all had a great last morning at the World!

Wow you did great with your Disney Visa, it must have been great knowing you had all that "free" money to spend :thumbsup2

Your poor hands, did you find out what was making them so sore?

That's a great way to end the trip at DTD. One last stop at the Disney shops. Nice choice of pins :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about WPE. I'm really considering eating here on our first night in April for dinner. Hope to hear good things!

Love all your shopping pics---you made some good purchases. AND way to go with the reward points! :thumbsup2

What great souvenirs you got! :goodvibes

I'm excited to hear about what you thought about WPE. We used to have one here in Atlanta that I ate at a lot but it closed up recently :guilty: It was always really good :thumbsup2 I hope the one in DTD is as yummy!

Sad to see your trip come to an end. I loved your MVMCP pics, I would love to go there around the holidays one year.

Great souveniers. I love the Lady and the Tramp pin, too cute.

Gotta love the Disney Visa!!!! :thumbsup2 I hope that rash on your hands wasn't anything serious...

Wish Canadians were eligible for the Disney Visa :(

There's my picture of the cinnamon buns. I knew you wouldn't forget to take one! I just knew it.

OH NO!......Your trip is almost over. :sad1: I really enjoyed it. You guys had such a blast and I love how you used your Disney Visa to the max. I can't see your pics right now ...you know....the work thing, so I'll be back later.

Looks like you had a good time at DTD! Wow that Disney Visa worked great for you! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear that your trip is coming to a close though!

Oh! Your poor, poor hands!! They look terrible! I hope you were able to clear them up and figure out what was the cause, so you can avoid that forever!

I use my Disney Visa for everything, too. I charge EVERYTHING, just like you do- it is great to have that Disney $$ to spend on vacation- it really, really helps!

So sad you're almost done. :sad1: When is your cruise? I can't see the writing on your ticker.

Ellen
