Itchin' For Some Fun...12/10/09 - 12/14/09...Finished 3/17

11 pages in???? Oh I am way behind :(

Going back to read now!!!

Update: All caught up. I didn't read the other comments...only your posts so I'm sure I'm repeating a lot of things!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the puppy...so cute!

I hope my DH takes me to WDW for my 40th....especially since my dinner ADR at Le Cellier for my 33rd went right out the window!

Glad you had a good plane ride down. Thanks for the decoration pics of the fake monorail. I wonder how fast they take down the Halloween ones and put up the Christmas ones!

LOVE that they let people with ME vouchers skip the line now!!!

POP beds- they should NOT advertise King Size bed rooms. They only have a handful for the whole resort and I believe they are all handicap accessible rooms. So you NEVER get one. That being said, DH and I are way bigger people that you and your DH and we've slept in POP beds plenty of times. It's just cozy LOL!!!

Congrats on being at rope drop for Epcot! Are the FP machines EVER working right????

Love the short wait times for all the big attractions. I love Mission: Space, but am with you. Once is enough!!!

The strawberry shortcake looks delish!

Bed bugs - how do you know if they're in your bed? I've seen several DISers talking about bed bugs and always checking for them. I am not one to be paranoid about that kind of stuff but then again, I hate bugs!!!! So please, give me the low-down on how to check for bed bugs. Especially since I'll be staying at Pop in February and April.

Thanks for all the sweet comments! As far as bed bugs, I researched it and found out to pull the sheets back to expose the mattress. Look carefully around the seams (where the sides meet the top) and especially around the tag. Also look in the nightstand drawers. We didn't see any at all. :thumbsup2

What is the difference between green and orange team on Mission Space? I refuse to ride it so I don't know anything about the ride. Besides that fact that I would most certainly have a panic attack and/or throw up if I were ever to ride it!

The Green Team is less intense, which I'm assuming means less/no spinning.

Going back to read now!!!

:rotfl2: Thanks for reading and getting caught up. :goodvibes

Awesome update! You hit some of my favorite attractions! And scored some impressive wait times to boot. Nice photos!

When I left off, we had finished up with Future World and were on our way to World Showcase. It was 11:20, a few minutes behind my schedule, but I actually didn’t care. I was in Disney with the love of my life and the crowds were no where near what I expected them to be.

We were both really hungry by now and were trying to decide what to eat. While we were walking, Tom got a call from work that he needed to take.

Soon we were on our way again, and made our way into Canada.

I had wanted to take the kids some candy from each country, so we stopped into the shop there to look around. We thought these soaps were hilarious!

I wish I had bought some. I did end up buying some maple fudge, though.

We continued on our walk and took some more pictures in the UK.

Tom was pretending to talk with his boss!

Sarah wanted a tea set from the UK, and I wanted to take my time to look for one, so we skipped shopping there for now.

On into France.

We were getting really hungry, so the pictures and shopping were dropped!

When we got to Morocco, I remembered how good the food at Tangierine Café had looked. So we stopped to eat lunch there. There was no one else around, so we had no wait. I got:

Mediteranean Sliders Combo - three pita pockets - lamb, chicken and falafel with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber and Tahini sauce served with Lentils, Hummus and Tabouleh

Oh my gosh, this was so incredibly delicious! I especially enjoyed ripping off pieces of the pita and using it to eat the hummus. Mmmm…

Tom got:

Lamb Wrap - served with Tangierine CousCous salad and Lentil salad

Tom really enjoyed this as well. He loved, loved, loved the lentil salad!

We both got Cokes (Tom’s diet) and baklava for dessert. I consider myself a baklava connoisseur, and this was some awesome baklava!

This meal would have cost $35.96, but we used two CS credits.

We had chosen to sit at a table outside and eat under the umbrella. It was so nice to chat and watch people walk by.

Tom saw this couple walk by and said, “Hey, that looks like Mr. and Mrs. ____ (my parents’ former next door neighbors).” By the time I turned to look, they were gone. About 10 minutes later, they were coming back from the other direction. Tom was urging me to go over and say hi. I am soooo not outgoing and it took every bit of courage I had to walk over and say hi. Well, as I got close I could tell it definitely was not them, but I was committed. They had seen me approaching. So I played it all cool and said, “Hi, is your name ____?” They said, “No,” and kept walking. I was so embarrassed!

When I got back to the table, Tom was laughing hysterically. He said that as soon as I left the table he realized it wasn’t them, but he didn’t want to make a scene by calling me back over. :sad2:

So we finished up lunch and continued on our way around World Showcase. It had gotten a little chillier, so I had to put on my sweater.

We got to Japan.

I looked around in the shop here for some candy, but didn’t see anything I thought the kids would like. When we walked back out, the drummers were out, so we stopped to listen.

They were so impressive! If I could have sat down, I would have liked to stay and listen a little longer.

Coming up…America and the highlight of my Epcot day…

We loved our meal at the Tangierine Cafe as well -- my stomach is growling just looking at your pictures!

Mistaking total strangers for someone else is totally something I would do! :lmao: Oh, well, just remember you will never see them again! :goodvibes

I have to also agree on eating at the Morocco cafe -- it's lots of food, never crowded and tastes really good!

I like the idea of getting candy from each country!:thumbsup2

Looks like a great start to your Epcot day! Must have been chilly there were a lot of people in jackets!

Merry Christmas!

Dawn

I bought my sister-in-law Beaver Butt soap as a gag for her birthday while I was in WDW. And I'm from Canada and I still thought it was mighty funny. In fact I have yet to see any this side of the border.

I love me some baclava! The above mentioned sister-in-law lives in greek town in Toronto and I always make sure I stop in somewhere and pick some up. YUM!

Was the fudge good?

Eating and people-watching in Epcot - one of the simple pleasures of life! :thumbsup2

You could spend a whole day just watching complete shows in Epcot and never even getting on a ride, especially at Christmas time with all the storytellers. I'm hoping to listen to the singing in America and hear at least one or two storytellers this trip. I also want to see some of the Candlelight Processional and see Illuminations with the special holiday ending.

Thanks for the Epcot tour! :)

Loved your update. Your pictures are so great! Sorry, can't say that your meal looked good b/c it didn't to me. But - I am SO NOT an adventurous eater. Picky would be more the word, but not as picky as my child is! ;) I don't think anyone is THAT picky!

Bummer about that couple not being who you thought they were and you being embarrassed. But, they didn't have to be so rude and just walk away. Maybe some wouldn't consider that rude, but I wouldn't do that to someone. My response would be more like, "No, sorry! We must have one of those faces," or something like that.

Brrrrr! It sure looks chilly in those pictures with everyone in long pants and jackets.

The food looks so yummy at Tangerine Cafe but sadly I was scarred by that place back in '05. We ate there as a last resort one night when we couldn't get into any sit-downs (this was before the DIS and knowing the importance of ADRs  ) So we ended up at this place. I will never forget the food on my plate. I couldn't identify any of it! Since then my culinary choices have changed and I have broadened the types of food I eat. So seeing what's offered there now looks great! But back then, I was the pickiest little thing :snooty: Seeing what you guys ate makes me really want to try it again. Maybe in February....

I always thought those soaps were a hoot! I actually got the Beaver Butt soap for my younger brother one year. I wonder if it smells like a beaver butt?? :rotfl:

That's what I kept telling myself! :rotfl:

I wasn't able to pull it off, but it was a good idea!

At first it felt really good, but it got much cooler as the day went on.

Merry Christmas to you, too!

Can you believe I still haven't tried it yet? There have been too many other holiday treats around here! :upsidedow

I'm actually pretty picky, too, and went out of my comfort zone for this meal. You might surprise yourself and like it! ;)

I'm here, I'm here! Thanks for the PM! Just caught up. Love the pictures of Raven. That's what my dog does when I leave too.

Great pictures so far. Can't wait to read more.

Those soaps were hilarious! Glad you made it around the world and had a nice lunch too! I love humus! I agree...it does look cold and windy out! :tilt: Can't wait for more....love the report!! :thumbsup2
