Are Italian charms a standard size? If I buy a bracelet at Claire's, will the WDW charms fit on it?

I'm trying to decide between the Italian charms bracelet and a pugster charms bracelet for my soon to be 6 yr old. I'd love to be able to give her the bracelet on her b-day (we'll be in Clearwater) and then let her pick a couple Disney charms later that week when we switch over to WDW.

I have been buying charms for DW and DD for a couple of years now, and for the most part, they are universal. WDW sells some very inexpensive charms that are made from something different, and they would not be compatible. However, you will know in an instant which charms these are (because they are only about 3 or 4 dollars a piece). WDW also sells the more expensive universal charms at many locations on property.:D

How expensive are these Italian charms? The actual bracelet at Claire's is only $6. I know the regular charms are only a few dollars each. I was thinking this would be a fun an inexpensive item for my DD's to collect over our future WDW trips. My kids are only 6 and 4 and I don't want to stress over how they choose to play with these bracelets. Maybe I should stick with the regular charms then.

WOW!!! I just found my answer. The Italian charms are roughly $25-$30 each. Definately not what I want my 6 yr old wearing out to play. They look very nice. I may ask for one for my birthday....lol. I know I won't lose it, get sand/mud on it or break it. As for my DD's b-day....I think I'll stick to the $6 charm bracelet with the $3 Disney charms. If she's careless with a charm or 2, I won't be happy but I won't cry either.

Thanks...
Jess

Just an FYI, and I am not recommending that you get the expensive charms for DD, but the bracelets and charms are made of stainless steel, so pretty hard to damage. I have bought charms on-line that didn't hold up too well, but I have given up on those. I have two bracelets full of nothing but Disney, and I get lots of comments on them.

I would suggest shopping ebay for inexpensive Disney charms for your DD. I've picked up some for as little as a few dollars. You could then give them to her while in WDW - perhaps one of a character as you come upon them in the parks.
