It wouldn't be spring without an Epcot F&G Festival! New pg 35

Just found your PTR. We are also going in April-:yay: And staying at Sheraton Vistana Resort (not Villages)
We also  the BC wish we were staying there again!
Had to tell you how awesome your family Christmas pics are!
Can't wait to go at Christmas time with my DH and DSs- SOMEDAY! ( I went w/ my parents and sister's family 2 yrs. ago- it was AMAZING!)
I hear you about the New England winters, although this yr. has not been bad for us at all. But I can't wait til JUNE for the sun and warm weather!! :) LOL So April is such a relief.

Love all your plans so far. We did Hoop Dee Doo revue in 2008 and had a great time. We hope to do it when my youngest is probably 3 or 4.

Great plans, Amy. I love Columbia Harbor House...it is one of my favorites.

We never did Hoop Dee Doo when our kids were young. And I don't know why...it sounds so fun.

I'll probably not get back here until after our trip, but I look forward to more plans.

how fun, can't wait to see how the boys enjoy the hoop. And I'm really anxious to read about your plans for your two non disney park days

I've always wanted to do Hoop too, just wish you didn't have to pay in full including tip 6mos in advance. :sad2: I'll look forward to your review, how do the boys do with noise? I've always been a bit leary of it with Daniel but he too likes corny humor and I think he'd like it.

Great plans! I love that you are going to have a resort day at Beach Club and that you are going to try Hoop De Doo -- both of those should be a blast!

Hoop De Doo looks like fun.
I'm wondering if I should take my nephews. Do you think 4 is too young?

Amy -

I'm not sure how I ended up being two weeks late for your new PTR, but I'm here and all caught up now.

Your plans sound like so much fun! I think you have a great variety of things planned for the family. Now that you have your baseball tickets it will be interesting to see how you modify things.

I have a non expiring ticket that has a bunch of water park passes still on them. I hope I get to use it this summer!!!!!

I love corny humor....maybe we need to give the Hoop Dee Doo Revue a try on our next trip! :thumbsup2

I'm really excited to see it again & share it with the boys. If we keep it on the itinerary... :rolleyes1

:welcome: Is it your first time at Vistana Resort? You'll love it! It's the next best thing to staying onsite. Lots more room & just around the corner from Disney! :thumbsup2

Thanks about the Christmas pictures - we had a great trip & luckily have some good photos to prove it!

Love all your plans so far. We did Hoop Dee Doo revue in 2008 and had a great time. We hope to do it when my youngest is probably 3 or 4.

Thanks! I might have some changes coming up... but hopefully HDDR will still make the cut.

I think our kids will enjoy Hoop Dee Doo... They can get into things like that! Hope you are having a fun trip!

The two non-park days are a bit up in the air... more coming right up on that.

I've always wanted to do Hoop too, just wish you didn't have to pay in full including tip 6mos in advance. :sad2: I'll look forward to your review, how do the boys do with noise? I've always been a bit leary of it with Daniel but he too likes corny humor and I think he'd like it.

I'm kind of glad we've paid for it ahead of time... one less thing to pay for later! Alex will do fine with the noise. Zach... depends on the day. He's been doing much better with noise. We'll pack the headphones. ;)

Great plans! I love that you are going to have a resort day at Beach Club and that you are going to try Hoop De Doo -- both of those should be a blast!

I'm sooooo looking forward to enjoying the Beach Club to the fullest!

Hoop De Doo looks like fun.

I don't know... 4 is probably OK - probably depends on the kid. :confused3

:welcome: Glad you made it over! You've been a busy lady!

I'm curious to see how long the waterpark & more tickets last us. We didn't use any in November so this will be the first use.

We interrupt this PTR with a change of plans! :rotfl:

To summarize the plans I’ve shared with you so far…

Thursday, 4/19: Arrival, hang out at BC, dinner at ‘Ohana

Friday, 4/20: Hollywood Studios

Saturday, 4/21: Hang out at BC/Boardwalk area

Sunday, 4/22: Epcot

Monday, 4/23: Animal Kingdom & HDDR

Tuesday 4/24: Magic Kingdom

BUT… this weekend we spent a good chunk of change on baseball tickets. We bought tickets to see the Red Sox in June!

This one is easy enough because we’re only an hour north of Boston. The big one is that we also bought Yankees tickets!

def89762.jpg

Which means a road trip to NYC! We’ve booked two nights at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and went for the Times Square view!

Even though it’ll be a short trip, it is going to be expensive! What does this have to do with our trip? Well we decided to see where we can cut some costs without majorly affecting our trip. We’re still staying club level at the Beach Club but we are thinking about skipping Universal. I was already starting to waiver on these plans because Zach isn’t 54 inches yet & Despicable Me won’t be opening until the summer. Alex LOVES that movie! Those two things alone aren't a deal breaker, but it's something to consider.

The other thing we are considering changing is Hoop Dee Doo. Tim isn't a huge fan (although he's only been once) but I'm hoping we still keep it in our plans. We'll see...

For now, I'll continue with our original plans & let you know what we move around if we skip Universal.

So moving on...

Wednesday 4/25:
This will be our Islands of Adventure day... if we go.

We want to see Harry, of course.

And Spiderman:

And I'm sure we'll get wet:

We'll have lunch at NBA City (just outside the park at CityWalk), which the boys will LOVE:

Coming up... Plans for our last two days!

:yay: for Red Sox tix!!! (DH won't bring DS10 yet b/c he still has trouble sitting through the whole game- he has ADHD). He did ok at the Bruins though except he wanted to keep going to the pro shop to buy stuff.
Not sure what to say about the Yankees tix- no Yanks fans around here :rotfl:
Are you seeing the Yankees in Boston too?
I can relate to skipping Uni/IOA b/c of height restrictions. We waited for the kids to be big enough to go there. Harry helped too- DS14 was a HP freak!! DH even took him at midnight to get his Book 7.:rotfl:

We didn't take the boys to their first Red Sox game until last summer. Alex is pretty obsessive about keeping score so that kept him busy. Zach is very antsy so we took several walks... including one to the pro shop!

We're not seeing the Red Sox play against the Yankees in either place. Since we area divided household, we decided it best not to cause too much friction & stick with rooting for one team at a time. Maybe when they are older.

I'm still very much on the fence about skipping IOA... not sure what we'll end up doing at this point. I've got a plan A & a plan B.

I hope you don't have to give up the dark side, but if you do I'm sure you will find something equally fun to replace it. Do your boys like Disney Quest? I know its not as great as universal but you already have the tickets.

Your road trip to NYC is going to be a blast. Lucky boys!

Love Typhoon Lagoon, haven't been for many years but now that the kids are all tall/old enough for all of the slides we might give it a try. We have some pluses left on old tix for 3 of us so that makes it easier.

Yay on the baseball tix, looks like a lot of fun. Best of luck deciding on what/if to cut. We've wanted to do IOA but once I add up the tix, etc it's always easier/cheaper to just add a couple of days to our MYW tix. Someday......

Can't wait to see how your plans will develop with the possible changes. The plans look great so far, but I agree that whatever you come up with/changes you need to make will still be fun:goodvibes

I am enjoying watching your plans evolve. If you don't keep the original plans, the boys will still love eating at NBA City. There will be plenty of other things to do - either free or cheaper than the park. They will love Tyhphoon Lagoon day. :cool1:

Disney Quest is exactly what I was thinking! :thumbsup2 We've never been but I think they'd like it. We'll see what happens when we get our tax refund - it's looking like it'll be a pretty good one this year.

I'm very excited for NYC!

I'm excited to check out Typhoon Lagoon! I know the boys will love it!

It is expensive to add tickets at a different park!

I agree! Whichever way we go, it will be fun!

Coming from a huge baseball fan....I'd trade baseball tickets for Universal tickets any day! Have fun!

:thumbsup2

We will probably only eat at NBA City if we go to Universal. But I suppose we could still go over to City Walk for a meal... I just wonder if they'll be upset when they see rollercoasters in the distance that we aren't going to ride!

:thumbsup2
Loving it

Thanks!

Having spent a day at each of the four major parks, we’ll spend our last two hopping around visiting our favorite attractions.

Friday 4/27:
We’ll return to Hollywood Studios & enjoy lunch at Sci Fi. We ate there for the first time last February but skipped it in November. The food wasn’t great, but apparently the restaurant was memorable because the kids were disappointed we didn’t eat there in November. Tim isn’t thrilled to be going back so hopefully he’ll like it better this time.

We’ll probably take a mid-day break at the resort before heading back out for our evening at Magic Kingdom. We have dinner at Chef Mickey’s at 5:00.

Not the best family picture...

After dinner we’ll visit our favorite MK attractions before watching Wishes from the Tomorrowland Terrace at the Wishes dessert party! I’m really excited to try this out because the worst part of fireworks for us, is the crowds!

Saturday 4/28: Our last day! :sad1:

We’ll spend the morning at Epcot visiting the attractions we missed & our favorites. We have lunch scheduled at Le Cellier, which is always a great way to end a trip!

Yum!

After lunch, we’ll head to Animal Kingdom which is open until 7pm. We’ll have an early night since our flight leave Orlando at 9am the next day.

So to sum things up, here are the plans as they stood last week, before we spent a million dollars on baseball tickets!

Thursday, 4/19: Arrival, hang out at BC (dinner at ‘Ohana)
Friday, 4/20: Hollywood Studios (lunch at 50s)
Saturday, 4/21: Hang out at BC/Boardwalk area (lunch at ESPN & dinner at Cape May)
Sunday, 4/22: Epcot (lunch at Teppan Edo with Heidi)/move from BC to Vistana Villages
Monday, 4/23: Animal Kingdom & HDDR
Tuesday 4/24: Magic Kingdom
Wednesday 4/25: Islands of Adventure (lunch at NBA City)
Thursday 4/26: Typhoon Lagoon
Friday 4/27: DHS (Sci Fi lunch), MK (dinner at Chef Mickeys) & Wishes dessert party
Saturday 4/28: Epcot (Le Cellier) & AK
Sunday 4/29: Early flight home

Up next: Possible changes to the itinerary!
