It will be my last trip for a loong time

YEAH we have favorite shows and rides from Pakey and HeatherBelle!!!! Anyone else want to chime in?

I see that tiny little print on Pakey's response (was it there before?) that you have never made a rope drop? My confession...I have only made rope drops on my April 2008 trip. Didn't know what they were, didn't think we needed to be there early. Then I found WDWDis and Tour Guide Mike and WOW a whole new world. On our trip in April my Dsis#2 was not a happy camper about getting up that early and to the parks before it opened. Dsis#2 and her girls tried it with me and the boys and loved the MK rope drop and the train and singing. So we did it for AK and DHS.

Dsis#2 is a sleeper and likes to take her time in the morning and so do her girls. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier with boys!!! They got up, brushed their teeth, showered (no hair or makeup to do) and got their shorts, t shirts and shoes on and out the door.

Even at home, I get them up at 6:15 am and we are in the car to leave at 6:45. Thas includes feed the dogs, letting them out, and getting thier school stuff together. I get up earlier than them so it all works out :)

My boys are not breakfast eaters in general. They are okay with piece of fruit or something along that lines and will wait to eat if need be. So that works out great when we went to MK rope drop and wanted the big cinnamon buns at the Main Street Bakery.
I think when we will skip some of the morning's at the food court and grab something at some of the park bakery's.

Sideline....there is a huge thunder storm moving in as I type right now. I am trying to keep Simba in the living room to watch TV so he has no idea it's rolling in right now. He is really afraid of big storms. When he was smaller (and this happened 2 different times to him) he was caught outside when a HUGE storm came in out of no where and the sky went from sunny to black in a matter of 2 minutes. Tree's limbs came off, hail came down, it was scary for an adult. He was across the street from our house with his brother at the park and I had to run over to help him bring Simba home, the wind was so bad it was hard to walk.

Well time for me to get more laundry done :laundy: I hate laundry, really if I ever the lottery first thing I will do is hire someone to do my laundry!!!

Yes, I confess (in small print because I was ashamed) that I have never made a rope drop. With the 3 hour time change, there's no way I'm getting up at the equivalent of 3 am while on vacation. Nothing is worth that to me. We have been to WDW 575785957474 times and we have nothing, other than ToT that is a must do.

We are not breakfast eaters either. However, I do love that Tusker House breakfast with Donald. I really like that food as there are non-breakfast items there so we go late and treat it as a brunch.

We are usually at the parks by 10 am (that would be 7 am for us) and leave by 3. The only park we usually go into at night is Epcot.

And I know what you mean about boys being easier. The first vacation we took after we had daughters in law, I just about popped a blood vessel. We missed our very first ADR at Boma because one of them couldn't get her hair to look right. :scared: I learned a lot from that vacation and changed how we vacation when the family is with us.

It's high 70's here right now and the pollen is killing me. I think it's supposed to cool down this weekend and maybe have some rain on Sunday.

It's in the 40's here and (yes I mean this) it makes me think of Spring so I am going to go out after work and get me some Lilies, Mums, etc to make my house feel and smell like Spring (even though snow is in the forecast, lol)

Well back to work

Oh! I hate storms, too! The stupid tornado sirens go off here so often that I associated any storm with that terrible feeling!

I know that all of us in Western NY complain about the snow and cold but ya know what? We can dig out of the snow :)
No tornado's, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. We know when a storm is coming for the most part and when to just sit at home and not go out in it.
The storm that Simba was caught in was a freak storm. We never get hail in the middle of summer or winds like that. It lasted for 1/2 an hour and was gone. Well we had rain for the rest of the day but the bad part was over.

I agree. I spent 7 years in Mississippi and 5 years in Missouri. I had my share of tornados and hurricanes. Thank you, I'll stick with the earthquakes.

Although after 1 year in Minnesota, I don't think anything is as bad as that level of cold. But I think I've pretty well blocked those memories from my mind.

It was so warm today we had to turn on the air conditioning.

Oh so not nice Pakey!!! It is 26 degrees here right now and they are calling for snow flurries. :scared:

I know-not nice. But trust me, in July, when it's 110 every day here and so smoggy that you can't see across the street, you can laugh at me.

Eww, no smog for me.

Well I treated myself to a new toy today (I'm an electronic gadget person, love them all) and got a mini laptop. 7 inch screen, weighs 2 1/2 pounds and super cool!! I have been checking them out for weeks and today I said, the heck with it, you deserve it, get it, so I ordered it and it will be here on Tuesday. I have 2 laptops now (my sister has one of them when her's broke)
the largest is a 15 inch screen and was a lot of money a few years ago and is basically out of date. I can get it updated at work though. The other one was bought for me from work for a job well done. It's a Toshiba Tablet/notebook. It weighs only 8 pounds and is an 11 inch screen and it's nice, very nice but I wanted smaller. I can put the new one in my purse and take it with me on vacation and not worry about it :) I am thinking back to our first computer (which was a rebuilt one) and how much space it took up and for the last 2 years I have had a small laptop that I use in the dining room with wireless internet. Ahhhhh the great inventions of our time :cloud9:

If I don't like it I can return it (I got it from Walmart believe it or not - on line)

I am looking into becoming a cruise travel agent with Expedia, part time for some extra cash. I have the webinar next week for it and if it looks good I will give it a try.

I got a call from Mickey from bootcamp last night. He has 2 fractured ribs from his last physical challenge but is still graduating and probably with honors. He loves it and is doing very, very well. I am so happy for him. He is super smart and always got bored with college, jobs, etc and now he fits in which is very important for him.

OOOOHHHHHHH the mini laptop sounds so nice. I have a Dell with a 17 inch screen and it's a bear to travel with it (but I'm blind and need the big screen).

I'm glad Mickey is enjoying his military life. I spent 4 years (long ago) in the military before going to college and I still feel it's the best thing I ever did in my life.

I spent the afternoon with my husband and son looking at houses for sale. Oh my, I've been living in a paper doll world I guess. The only houses for sale are foreclosures (and there are thousands of them) but these people beat the heck out of these houses before abandoning them. I could not believe the condition of these houses and why people felt the need to trash them so badly.

My weekend plans are to finish my Paris scrapbook. Three pages left and then I can clean up the mess. I have a scrapbooking room but prefer to spread the mess through the great room instead. I'm more excited about cleaning up the mess than finishing the book.

Well today will be our Epcot day. I have to be honest out of all the parks this is my least favorite. It's not that I don't love going there but out of the 4 this is the 4th. There are parts that are fantastic, like the countries and a few rides but overall, it just doesn't do it for me.
BUT, my guys LOVE this park! So I do what they want to do here, 100% I am the follower.
When we went in April 08 I alomost bought a few tiles from Morocco, I loved them so much, no idea where I would have put them but I have promised myself that I will buy them when we go this year. It only has to be 3 or 4 but they are MINE I tell you, MINE. :lovestruc

Back to Day 3....up and out for RD. Soarin fast passes (Donald as our runner!) and then to Test Track, Mission Space (that's the name right?) Ellen's ride (this is one of my fav's), Figment,Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Soarin, Nemo, Crush, etc etc etc.
I will spend sometime in Mouse Gears :woohoo: while the boys go to Innovations and play with all that stuff. Depending on the crowds we will go back to the resort for a break and go back to Epcot to the Rose and Crown for dinner (first for most of us) and then hit my countries!
This is the part where I use to loose the boys but last year I showed them the great part of the countries, snacks, window shopping and they loved the details. We stopped and "looked" at everything. Plus Kidscot helped ALOT last year and now that I have the passport for Simba he will have fun.

We wont stay for Illuminations since that is what the boys want and go back to the resort for our evening swim.

Pakey, we were writing at the same time! Donald bought me a Disney scrapebook from DTD and all the stuff to go with it for Christmas. Mickey and Minnie are totally into doing them and have huge ones from thier trips to WDW together. I have never done one and have no idea where to start. How about I send it all to you and you can put it together for me :thumbsup2
PLEASE.
HeatherBelle do you scrapebook?

I have been saving all the mail from Disney, postcards from them, everything from this trip so I can do the book.

I may be sending you pictures of the book for help :goodvibes

I have sworn off doing any more Disney scrapbooks. I have at least 10 of them and I just got so sick of seeing the same stuff. I have not scrapbooked my Disneyland Paris pics yet but I think I will do it non-Disney anyway.

One of my favorite books is the one where I took the Character autographs, photocopied them smaller and made "tags" to go with the pictures.

Our Jan trip, I just did the Disney photopass book online. That I could handle.

I love to scrap. Like most scrappers, I have every gadget ever invented. I start each project with lots of enthusiasm but when it gets down to the end, I just want to finish. I'm sure anyone going through one of books could pick out the last few pages cuz they are so plain compared to the others.

Hope to see you back on here soon.

Good Morning All!
It's a rainy morning here and I love it! I really should live in Seattle where there is rain most of the time or New England, I love the rain! It's so nice watching my landscape shows and listening to the rain outside. It's cleaning up all the brown yuck that we get here after all the snow melts.

The puppies are doing great and this past week they all opened their eyes and are learning to use thier legs, lol. They try to sit up and then topple over.

There has been a lot going on this past week or so and I haven't had the mind set to write much at all, but I think things have settled down and I am back.

It's only 50 days till we set sail on the fantasy life of living at "The World" for 9 whole days! :dance3:

Okay bad news....I got my new purse in for the trip, tried it out all week and it will not work at all. It's similar to the baggalini and I thought it would great. It does not hold as much as it says it does and it's not comfortbale to carry around. SOOOOO I am back on the look out for something different. I have my basic Disney bag that I have used the last 2 times we went and I love it but there are no pockets inside it and I need some pockets (actually I have about 4 Disney bags.)
Minnie had (she wore it out at college this semester) had found a backpack from Animal Kingdom when she went last summer and it was cute, not too big and and had lots of pockets and I thought about waiting to see if when we go down there in 50 DAYS I could just find it and get it there, but I am too impatient, lol. I can't find it on line so I will look for something similar around here.

Sorry the bag did not work out for you. It's terrible having to buy another one. ;)

Your plans are sounding fantastic! You are getting so close; I'm excited for you!!

I'm sorry your bag didn't work out; I've been ordering stuff off of Ebay for our trip. I'm so worried it won't be what I thought; we'll see!

Yet another rainy day here but we reached 50 degrees :goodvibes

I am home with Simba, stomach problems this morning and since he had his roller skating party field trip today I know he wasn't faking, lol.
When I was cleaning my closet this weekend I found my basket of "stuff" from our trip last April. So I still have my sewing kit, little bottles for hairspray, hand lotion, etc.
Simba is going to make a list of what he thinks we should bring to WDW while he is laying down and then wants to compare it to my list. I know I am doing something right when a 10 year old wants to make sure we have everything listed out for our trip.

Is there anything special you all bring?

Day four....Typhoon Lagoon!!!! Remember I live in a cold place for about 9 months of the year so when we go to Typhoon Lagoon I feel like I am in the tropics (when I squint my eyes and turn my head to the side just a little bit, lol) I love thinking about TL as I look out my back door and see the snow flakes float down, yes, on April 4th it is snowing and it was in the 60's just 2 days ago. The Easter Egg hunt will be done indoors again this year :confused3

We will wake early and go through the routine, get breakfast in the food court this morning. The bus will bring us to the front entrance, okay to the side of that, it never fails we get dropped off yards and yards away from the entrance and the walk with the "stuff" for the day bothers me. After we walk in I will get lost, this is tradition, it nevers fails, I never know where I am even with the map in my hand after we go through that first pathway.
We have always sat in the small kids area near the shelters but this year since we have no "small" children we will try a new area that we found last year as we explored the park. Over by the shark swim area. It was deserted and this was in April during spring break time. Once we set our stuff down the boys will leave us, I will see them again when it's time for lunch, lol.
Me and Simba will do the wave pool, family raft and a few small slides. The sunand water will soak the life out of us, it always does, we will love it just the same. Going down the lazy river can take a lot of my day, it's just so great.
After we leave TL it is up for grabs on what else we do for the day. Well, the first thing will be the resort and clean up and change. I have a feeling the kids will want to hit DTD at this point to spend more of their $ and I have a few items to buy at the Lego store for my nephew and Simba for Christmas (I can hide them) but again, it's up to the boys, I will patient :rolleyes1
If they don't want to head to DTD maybe a couple hours after we eat at MK to wander around? There is always the resort jant's, go to a few we have never seen and check them out.

Okay time to wake the kids, Goofy has a fundraiser for his trip to Germany and Simba has an Easter Egg hunt.
