It was to be a SURPRISE trip, but I blew it May 2012 PTR (New May 9 )

May 21....we will be heading to the Magic Kingdom! I am hoping we will be bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning but I highly doubt it! We both find the first few days in the World a little hard to sleep...too excited I guess!
We will definitely be at the Park for rope drop...I have to see the show! It's one I cannot miss and hopefully will see it everyday that we are at the MK!

Our tradition is always to walk leisurely down Main Street and head over to Adventureland. We will wander around there and do some rides and probably have lunch while we're in the park. We both love CHH and Cosmic Rays, so depending where we are in the park will decide where we have lunch.

Of course then it is back to the resort to have some pool time, shower and get ready for dinner at Coral Reef! We skipped this one last year but the year before it was our best meal of the trip! Our ADR is early enough that hopefully we can take in Illuminations and a Grey Goose Slushie! I can't imagine standing to watch the show without one in my hands!:lmao:

Jasmine is off this weekend so I'm thinking that we'll probably be heading to the malls at some point to see what else she can buy for our trip:lmao: I am still holding off until April for my shopping....at least that's what I think I'm doing!

Your day sounds very nice and your plan is very relaxed. I have posted my MK day too and it's SOOO different from yours! It sounds like you take it all in stride - I am totally commando. so our plans are like day and night. We love to tour commando though and get in as many thrill rides as we can and then we do the same as you and head back to relax at the pool :) NO better way to spend a nice sunny Orlando afternoon.

Oh and I havn't gotten to shopping yet either :( I need to start thinking about it though b/c if I wait til April i just know I won't find anything i like.

The ONE thing I wanted to do on my honeymoon was MK ropedrop and I made the mistake to schedule our MK day later in the trip and we ended up sleeping through it!
This time, I'm scheduling it for our first day. Haha

There is nothing like the Magic Kingdom rope drop! The music, the characters, the countdown...they all make me feel like a kid and I can't help but sing along and get teary eyed :)

Isn't it much more fun to shop for our beautiful daughters? Everything looks so cute on them!

Enjoy your weekend :goodvibes
Me too! It's my favorite way to start a Disney Day!

Way more fun! I get frustrated when shopping but I love to get her in a change room and just bring her things to try on.....they are like our own little dolls:hug:

I hope you have a great weekend too! It's a long weekend for us here so we also get Monday off:yay:

Rope Drop is a must for a Magic Kingdom morning! And strolling leisurely down Main Street...one of the best things to do at WDW/:love:

Love that you're having some relaxing pool time before heading to Epcot. Perfect way to rejuvinate oneself before another trip into the parks. :thumbsup2
Couldn't agree more! MK is one park we just enjoy now...we do the rides we love and other than that we just enjoy our surroundings!

Love our afternoons and are very lucky that we have the time to enjoy them!

I love the opening show at the Magic Kingdom! I mean, how can you not. I wish that I made it more often though, I always end up being a little bit behind.

I sadly have not shopped much lately either. I am not allowed to until March 2nd, and I have to see how much weight I've lost in the past month. If I don't reach my goal, it's a no go.

Our MK mornings are really the only mornings that I am crazy mom where we have to be there on time! Jasmine will of course say I'm crazy mom everyday...but we'll ignore that:rolleyes1

Let me know how you're doing! It's so tough and a battle many of us face! I am happy to say I am back at the gym ( I had to have minor surgery so was away from it for a few weeks) and I was down 6 pounds while I was off! That was tough....fridge a few feet away.....pure torture all day!

What is a Grey Goose Slushie? And where might I find it??
My pal Darcy has answered that in his post and I couldn't agree with him more...they are heavenly and dangerous cause they taste so darn good:lmao:
It is a slushie made with Grey Goose vodka and you can get them at the kiosk in France. They are excellent!!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
We know that all too well don't we:rolleyes1

I used to be commando and couldn't understand why people would take time away from the parks but since 2006 we've changed our style!

That's my fear too...waiting too long and then not getting what I want. Hopefully, we will both have some luck!

That way there will be no way you'll miss it this time:thumbsup2

I meant to tell you too that Jasmine and Mini Montana are going to the Jet's/Avs game tonight! My BIL has season tickets so the girls are going tonight! They are very excited!

I love rope drop at MK, it's such a great way to start your morning! I usually like to do MK the first full day of our trip, I feel like that show kind of welcomes you to your Disney vacation, but it doesn't always work out that way!

CHH and Cosmic Ray's are both so good, either one will be great for lunch! :cool1:

I think I need to go to Coral Reef. I always read mixed reviews of it, but it seems like somewhere you have to go for yourself and try it, it sounds like it would be good, and it's so pretty in there!

Huh, I never thought of getting a slushie for Illuminations...great idea! :goodvibes

Your plans for May 21st sound awesome! There is nothing like the opening show to start at day at the MK off perfectly.

Going shopping for new things before a trip is always one of my favorite parts, and not just clothes and such either. I am always so excited when I get to purchase travel sized toiletries because it means the trip is getting closer.

I'm so excited for you guys that it is coming so fast, You're gonna have such an amazing time:goodvibes

I hope you have a great weekend too! It's a long weekend for us here so we also get Monday off:yay:

Ha!!! Not if you work for the Feds!!!! I start back to work tomorrow and the rest of the family has the day off!! Not Fair!!!:sad2:

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Debbie

I still haven't seen the MK rope drop show, but it sounds very magical. CHH and Cosmic Rays are both great choices!

I think it's the perfect way to start the morning too! I agree, this year it didn't work for us on our first full day either!
CHH and Cosmic Ray's are both so good, either one will be great for lunch! :cool1:
We are definitely fans of both too...just depends where we are in the park....there is always Casey's too...how I love those hotdogs!
I think I need to go to Coral Reef. I always read mixed reviews of it, but it seems like somewhere you have to go for yourself and try it, it sounds like it would be good, and it's so pretty in there!
We have never had a bad meal there, we did have horrible service once, but it didn't stop us from going back! We love the atmosphere so much in there too!
Huh, I never thought of getting a slushie for Illuminations...great idea! :goodvibes
We have lucked in a few times and grabbed one of the little tables right by the GGS kiosk and watched Illuminations right from there.....:cloud9:

You sound just like us! I've already got some toiletries in the suitcase:lmao: I figure it is only 89 days until we leave....can never be too prepared:worship:

It is coming quickly...I don't know where the first 3 weeks of February went!

Not fair at all....I didn't realize that until the mailman came to the door!

Hope it wasn't too bad of a day for you. Jasmine is at work today too and she said the store is very busy!

We may have to find away to fly in to meet you in France to have a couple. ;)
That would be wonderful! Is that a possibility or only if the lottery gods shine down on us?:worship:
THANKS! I will be sure to try it! YUMMMMMM!

You will not be disappointed, I can promise you that!!!!

Hello Queen!
Hey Carla:hug:
Congrats on the 'surprise trip!'
Thanks...it appears to have worked out exactly how it was supposed to....my partner in crime is in full force planning mode!
Just wanted to stop in and let you know I'm getting all caught up (finally!) and I just stumbled over this pre-trip report. I'm so happy for you two!
Thanks hon....we are pretty excited...bummed that this will be our last trip together for quite some time, but excited none the less!
Also wanted to say I love :lovestruc the furniture and all of the real-life updates. Very nice! Oh, and of course I'm loving your trip report. :goodvibes
Aww thanks...we are still loving it!
Love the adult time (drinks!) breaks, the pool breaks, all of the food pics and I love feeling like I'm sharing your wonderful trip with a very beautiful family.
I am so happy that I get to share it will you:hug:

So happy you stopped in and I hope you are all well...how is your planning coming along! It's right around the corner for you guys!
I still haven't seen the MK rope drop show, but it sounds very magical. CHH and Cosmic Rays are both great choices!
One of these trips you'll make it....maybe your adult only trip will be the one:rolleyes1

I agree, I also love Casey's but Jasmine isn't a huge fan of hotdogs!

:wave2: Hello! Just caught up on everything and now I'm subbing for the rest of the report :goodvibes Love the plans so far!

Well hello there! I am so happy to have another Canadian following along! Nova Scotia is one of my favorite places on earth!

Plans for May 21 sound good. And here's an incentive for you to have a Slushie...like you really need one. :lmao::lmao::lmao: It's Mark's and my 29th wedding anniversary...so get a slushie and toast us. ;)

Awww....I'll be thinking of you guys for sure when I have one....or two maybe:rolleyes1

Girl I am sooo disapointed.:sad2:

I'm happy for you that you are doing another trip but not that we'll be missing each other again. Really wishing you were headed in August instead. Sigh...

I'll just have to have the grey goose slushie on my own.

Any chance you'll be in Calgary at the end of July? I'm headed out there for the Swim Canada age championships.
