It was to be a SURPRISE trip, but I blew it May 2012 PTR (New May 9 )

Yay, that's just so exciting! What an awesome surprise. You know I'm along for the ride.

I personally would love it if you went to Star Wars Weekend  I have always wanted to go and it seems like a lot of fun! You could always check it out for a while and even if you aren't fans you might enjoy the Hyperspace Hoopla which includes the characters dancing to Top 40 songs :thumbsup2

The last couple times we went in May it was hot! Not as humid as August but it was hot and we needed the middle of the day pool break!

I've been twice in May (but early May) and I did not think it was as hot as summer. However, you are going later in the month so I am thinking HOT! What's hard about May vs the end of the summer is you have absolutely NO time to get used to hot weather before getting there. I think that makes it FEEL hotter.

I've been in the park on a Star Wars weekend and I just stayed clear of that area. I didn't think it impacted overall crowd level.

Hope you can figure out your flights.

Happy ADR planning! Whenever I think about your trip I picture that pretty little piano pool!

I'm trying to think of what the weather is usually like around here at the end of May, and if my memory is correct, it's pretty warm, but not unbearable. If you can handle WDW in August, late May will not a big problem. I will say, though, you might catch a few afternoon showers, but they go away quickly.

Of course, I'm kind of afraid the weather is going to be different this year than most, because it is unbelievably warm right now. Normally, Florida gets in the 30s and 40s during all of January and February, but this year we've stayed between 60 and 70 degrees. :scared1: (It's been warm enough to go to the beach, which is not normal!) So, I know for me, I'm planning a hot May trip. :confused3

I'm not sure about Star Wars weekend. I've never been during those times, but I don't think it should mess with your plans too much. Maybe just cause DHS to be a little more crowded than usual.

Perfect, I was kinda hoping more like Sept weather than August so that's great!

When we were in Florida two years ago at this exact time, it was freezing...and remember we're Canadians!:lmao: We had to buy little gloves and new sweatshirts and you all know how much I hate shopping for things at WDW:rolleyes1 I'm hoping you're right about the hot May trip!!

I figure worse case scenerio it will be as crowded as your Thanksgiving week and we made it thru that in 1998!:lmao:

Yay, that's just so exciting! What an awesome surprise. You know I'm along for the ride.
Hey chicky!! I'm so glad you're here:hug:

Well your wish is my command, we're going to go on the 25th! I always look forward to our afternoon pool breaks so I"m glad we'll be fitting them in again!

That is such a great point, I hadn't thought about that! I guess we'll still be pretty pasty looking too from the long winter....better get high SPF sunscreen too:rotfl2:

That's great to hear...thanks!
Hope you can figure out your flights.
You and me both...I check at least a half a dozen times a day and I can't believe how often they change...my sister gave me that little tip!
Happy ADR planning! Whenever I think about your trip I picture that pretty little piano pool!
And I think of you everytime we're there! I am hoping we get one of the Broadway buildings...I just love how quiet it is over there!
Forget Geodoc, I'm jealous about Star Wars Weekend.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Well...looks like we're going to go on the 25th so I will be sure to take a ton of pictures!

Hope the flights work out for you. That is what is keeping me from booking a summer trip right now :(

Girls and I did DHS while hubby checked out the SW stuff. The Storm Troopers out front are pretty funny.

Good tip about the AP and TIW card. We used it this past trip and it paid for itself.

Can't wait to hear about the food :)

We have gone in May 2x. It is humid but not as hot as Sep. Better bring some rain stuff just in case......

The one good thing is we only to buy one because I have enough visa points to pay for the other one!:thumbsup2

Jasmine was saying that she wanted to see the storm troppers on the roof! She said she saw a picture of that somewhere...that would be kinda cool! We did the TIW card this past August when we were there with my sister and her family and it was great!

Umbrellas and ponchos are on the list!:thumbsup2

:yay::yay: I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!! THIS IS GREAT NEWS!! :yay::yay:

Wow, you had us all fooled.

Sorry your surprise was ruined.

I was feeling so bad that you were going to have to skip Disney this year.
Glad that is not the case now.
You seem to have taken care of everything.

You are such a sweet Mom to do this for her! I can just imagine how excited she must be.
I see a trip to the US in your future so she can get some new clothes.

Now...you can use your new suitcase. :woohoo:

I will throw some pixie dust your way to get good flights! pixiedust:

Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning. :goodvibes

Thanks! Ok....that seals the deal....we have to take in a SWW!

We are over the moon! I was up bright and early this morning trying to finalize our first couple of days so I'm hoping to have those up before the Super Bowl starts...but no promises!

LOL...Jasmine already asked me if we would be going to Fargo for our toiletries:lmao: maybe that was code for clothes! If we do a trip, it will only be a day trip, I'm telling her if she "needs" some new clothes she "needs" to start looking here!

I can't wait to use my new suitcase....will you think I'm a total weirdo if I already have some incidentals in there already:rolleyes1

I will be checking the flights again today so thanks for the pixie dust!!

Aww...thanks for being here with us:hug:

Queen - I have loved reading your reports to date. And I just realized we will be down there at the same time as you in May. In fact we will be getting in May 24th through the 29th. We are going down to celebrate our birthdays. Everyone in my family has May birthdays. Whew. And our youngest daughter wants to go to Star Wars Days. She will be turning 16 and that is what we did for her sister when she turned 16. However, we will be going on Saturday to DHS. They loved it when we went last time.

We also take the afternoon pool breaks. Can't beat it. Refreshes you for the rest of the night.

Have a great time planning your upcoming trip and maybe we will run in to each other some time. :flower3:

:rotfl2:...like you can't get toiletries here...I do the same thing...any excuse to go to the States works for me too.

I'm thinking of going today for some yogurt and Duncan Donuts. :lmao:

I have fallen in love with these yogurts...
keylimeyogurtthick.jpg

I'm sure I can find some other things to buy aswell....;)

Who doesn't love a nice Sunday drive and if it just happens to take me over a certain bridge..so be it.

I definitely do not think you are a weirdo. I have already started putting stuff in ours.
I ordered a new Rapunzel drawstring park bag for Lexi and it arrived the other day so in it will go. :)

Thank you so much, you are too kind! I think that celebrating birthday's in the World is just about the best thing you can do! We love it!

We are going to DHS on Saturday the 25th too!! We decided that we were going to go and take in all that SWW has to offer to us:rotfl2: If that is the same day, I sure hope we can meet even if it's just to say hello!!

I agree about the pool, I love having a shower after, putting on clean clothes...feels like you're starting your day all over again doesn't it!

I didn't check before I replied to this, but do you have a PTR going?

Exactly....do you want to know what her answer was..."they are about a dollar cheaper on each travel sized item mom".....clearly the banker in me hasn't rubbed off on her:rotfl2:

One of the guys that I work with goes down to grocery shop every month and he always brings those yogurts back...will definitely have to check them out!

We love going on Sunday because we don't have to get up as early because none of the stores open until noon...works for me!

Oh thank goodness it's not just me!:rotfl2: I love Rapunzel...she is on our list to see this trip!

Joining in! I'm planning a May trip also, so it will be fun to read along with others planning trips for May! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry your surprise got ruined, but at least Jasmine can help with the planning now! :woohoo: Can't wait to read more!

Hi Queen. That is exciting we will all be at the park on Saturday. Would definitely like to meet you both. I know first thing Saturday morning we have to get over to Shades of Green to get my daughter's friend her Park Hopper ticket. It saves big bucks for us getting it there for her. Then we are making a bee line to DHS.

And your comment about the pool is spot on. It just makes the day better. ;)

And sorry to say, I have no PTR going. I am not a writer and am not that witty. I just love to read them. :goodvibes

:woohoo::woohoo:so glad you joined us! I just popped over and subbed to your current TR....I know how I'm spending my Sunday eveningpopcorn::

You're right! This morning she grabbed the laptop as soon as she got up and said I'll check the flights today mom!! She was so giddy this morning....she is really looking forward to this one so I think it was meant to be!

We would love to meet up too! We will be sure to give you our cell numbers before we leave and then we can text when we're all at the park!!

Well I am so happy that you're along for ours....we can at least follow each other's plans!

I love the key lime yogurt too! Yoplait used to have a coconut cream pie one that was yummy, but no more - I dunno why.
Sorry to hijack, Queen!

Hijack away girl! They are on my list for "the next time we go to the states" trip! Coconut cream pie....yum! Too bad they don't make it anymore!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Jasmine and I spent our weekend mulling over our plans and checking the flights every chance we got!

As the flights sit right now, it looks like we'll be booking on Delta! We have been checking United also, however, their flights are more than double what Delta's are:scared1:

Right now there are two flights leaving in the morning to Minneapolis and then onto Orlando. One leaves at 630am and one leaves at 740am so I thought, we'd take the 740am because then we wouldn't have to get up quite so early. Jasmine thinks we should take the 630am because it does give us extra time in Minneapolis and her thought is we can have breakfast there to pass the time but at least we're there! So the 630am flight it will be. It gets us into Orlando at 213pm. The return flight would have us leaving Orlando at 810am and arriving in Winnipeg at 1245pm! The price they are quoting including all taxes etc is $678.97...I looked up what we paid last year and it was $543.00 I love that, it will give me all day to unpack and then we can relax on Sunday before both heading back to work! I am still going to hold off for a bit to see if them do come down at all in price!

So that's where we stand on that! Now on with the first few days of our trip. I have decided I will take the Friday off before we leave. I just can't imagine getting home at 630 - 7pm on Friday evening and leaving at 630am the next morning! I will make our pedicure appointments for first thing that morning and Jasmine wants to get one of those shellac manicures...she swears by those! She tried one and it definitely lasts two weeks with no chipping! After that, we will head home and I will finish any last minute laundry and packing! By 5pm I would like to have the family over to enjoy our last evening at home! I will pick up something easy at the Italian Speciality Store and send any leftovers home with my dad and Peg!

Jeff has graciously offered to drive us to the airport in the middle of night! He thinks it's a waste a money to get a car to take us when he's around! The boy has a good point! We live only about 10 - 15 minutes from the airport (especially in the middle of the night when there is no traffic) and being a Saturday morning the traffic should be very light!

This upcoming trip will have us taking off from our brand new airport and we can't wait to see it! We've only seen it on the news the day it opened which just happened to be Jasmine's birthday and the pictures Peg got when they were there a couple of weeks ago! We will go through US customs and security, then I'll grab my last cup of Tim Horton's coffee for two weeks and we'll wait to board!

We are very comfortable with Minneapolis airport and know our way around pretty good (Jasmine's first stop with be Starbucks) and we'll find our gate and grab a bite!

Our arrival time in MCO is 213pm so I figure by the time we get off the plane, get to and board ME, arrive and ASMu, our room will hopefully be ready for us to drop our carry ons and freshen up!

We will then head to DTD for our ADR at Raglan Road! This is an arrival day tradition for us! We love spending our arrival day at DTD and we love RR!! Depending on how tired we are we may look around the shops for a bit or head back. Our luggage will hopefully be in our room and we will unpack and get settled in! For those of you who have read past TR's now that I clean the room down before we do anything! I have watched way to many of those Dateline shows:lmao:

There you have it ....sound good so far?

Your plans sound great for the first day, crossing my fingers that the flights come down in price for you!

2:13 sounds like a great arrival time, enough time to get freshened up before your DTD evening.

Can't wait to hear more:goodvibes
