It Was the Best of Times & the Worst, But It Was the Best Trip Evah!

This was Friday & Anne & the DGD's last full day at WDW. We left in a hurry to get back to HS so that Emily could register for the Star Wars Jedi Academy program.

The girls were wearing their new dresses that Anne made for them. Emily's was of the Frog Princess & Kelly had several princesses on her dress. They received many compliments from CM that we passed in the parks.

Here I am bright eyed & bushy tailed to start another day of commando touring!

Disney2011140.jpg

On our way into HS, as you can see the crowd level was pretty light!

Disney2011141.jpg

Here comes Emily bringing up the rear as usual. That child was always lagging behind us, we had to keep turning around to make sure that she was still with us.

Disney2011142.jpg

We were heading over to the registration for the Star Wars thing & Bob took this shot, also no people!

We had some time to fill before Emily had to be at the Padwan School, so for a couple of rides!

Disney2011145.jpg

This was the first time that I'd ridden this ride. I really had never spent much time in this area of HS. I thought that it was for small children.

I really liked the props, they brought back a lot of memories from mine & my kids childhoods!

Next ride up was this one, The Movie Ride at Grauman's Chinese Theater!

Disney2011147.jpg

I love this ride, it helps that I've seen just about every movie that they show clips of! I really love old movies! We got the gangsters this time, we've got the cowboys on previous trips. The next attraction was to be the Back Lot tour, but it was closed that day. That was a disappointment.

It was off to Star Tours for another great ride! We got a different scenario than our last ride which made the ride even better. Say hello to CP30!

Disney2011148.jpg

Outside of Star Tours there is this speed racer to pose for photos with. So we took advantage of it.

Emily was getting ready for her appearance at the Padwan school, so we were taking photos of Kelly.

While waiting for Emily to come onstage, Kelly wanted to get her face painted. So off went to accomplish that.

Here is the finished product on one very happy little girl!

Disney2011155.jpg

This lasted all day, it did cause some problems. Kelly got upset about something & was crying. She started crying harder when told that her face paint would wash off if she didn't stop! It worked out ok, but it was trying for me!! :rotfl:

A happy grandmama & her little flower!

Next up the Jedi Training with Emily!

Fun update!

Your granddaughter's face painting looks really neat! Good to hear that it did stay on and not come off too easily.
Can't wait for the adventure to continue! :thumbsup2

Too cute! The face painting matches her dress and is just enough to brighten her face! I can't wait to see the young Jedi!

Just realized I missed your last update. Those dresses are just adorable! Really, really cute. The girls look beautiful and so does the face painting!

Kelly really loved her face painting session. I think that it was a pretty good job for $10. The paint lasted all day which was pretty good for the really hot weather!

I loved those dresses, Anne makes really cute dresses. She likes the girls to be tom boys, but she does dress them in great dresses! :lovestruc

The CM's made quite a few comment about the dresses.

It was time for the Jedi School to begin,so it was on to gather in front of the stage. Here is our little Padwan now.

She is reciting the Jedi Knight oath.

Disney2011197.jpg

Learning to use the light saber, one need's to pay close attention to the Jedi Master.

Disney2011200.jpg

My brave Jedi warrior in training in her Princess dress wearing the matching butterfly earrings! Who says one can't be feminine & feisty at the same time?!

Disney2011203.jpg

I'd say that she is having a great time. This girl is getting her bedroom madeover with Star Wars stuff for Christmas!

Disney2011206.jpg

This was the Jedi Master, he was a real hoot, quite funny. Emily is getting ready to do battle with her nemisis, Darth Vadar! OOOHHH, scary!

Disney2011214.jpg

At last, face to face with the ultimate villian, old Darth himself!

Disney2011219.jpg

Hit him low with the light saber.

Disney2011221.jpg

Aim high this time!

Disney2011223.jpg

Duck down when Darth swings his light saber! Don'twantyour head cut off!:scared1:

Disney2011227.jpg

The last swish in their duel, she sent Lord Vader packing!

Disney2011238.jpg

The young Padwan has become a full fledged Jedi Knight. As such she is receiving her diploma. Congratulations young Jedi!:yay:

Disney2011240.jpg

After her battle, Emily had her turn on the Racer.

Disney2011166.jpg

On our way I decided to have my first ever Mickey Bar! Wow am I ever mad:eek: those things are the best ever! I loved every bite & had two more before the end of our vacation!:dance3:

Disney2011168.jpg

We decided to have lunch before we left HS. Since it was close to us & seemed a likely place, we stopped at Fairfax Fare. Never again will we eat there! The food was okay, salads & sandwiches, but the service was the worst in the entire WDW. Bob was so appalled that management allowed such slow service. The CMs would take the order then fill it one item at a time. This would mean walking across the kitchen to get one item, them back across to get another. There were more than a few angry peole in that line I can tell you!

Disney2011169.jpg

After our lunch we decided that it was time to leave. We wanted to do a bit of shopping in HS on the wasy out. Kelly & Emily decided that shopping was not for them. So they each got a bag of gummy worms with their snack credit.

Disney2011170.jpg

They looked cute & lady like sitting there enjoying their snacks.

Disney2011171.jpg

Now that Vader has been vanquished, it is time to begin our way out, but first some shopping.

Disney2011242.jpg

We decided to go to Downtown Disney for a couple of hours before we had to be at the Coral Reef for dinner.

Anne & Emily on the bus, I'm in the back with Kelly having a chat!

Disney2011174.jpg

Disney2011176.jpg

Next stop DD! The Lego Store was our destination!

Disney2011177.jpg

Disney2011178.jpg

Disney2011179.jpg

These things fascinate me, I'm lucky to build a box with Legos, let alone one of these statues!

Bob & I decided that we were going to eat lunch here after Anne & the girls went home. We like to laze around & dine by watersides on our vacations.

Disney2011180.jpg

We were now going to Epcot for our 5:30 ADR at Coral Reef. This was to be another first for us. It would also be the scene of Grandmama's meltdown!

You will have to wait for my next update, unwrapped Christmas gifts are calling me at the moment!

So glad Darth was defeated by that cute little Jedi!
We have never eaten at Fairfax, we stick to Starring Rolls.

Can't wait to hear about your meltdown....

What a cute Jedi!!!
Sounds like such a fun day at DHS and DTD.

...... meltdown? .......... can't wait to hear all about it! :thumbsup2

Yeah, it was not pretty, but was s resolved quickly!:thumbsup2

It's hard being a mother in law at times!:rolleyes1

the jedi training pictures are wonderful. It looks like she was in heaven.

I can't believe you left us with a cliffhanger! :scared1:

Well went out today to finish up some Christmas things, when sitting at a traffic light, Kabam! We were rear ended. The woman that hit us was going pretty fast & that was a big bang. Our heads snapped back, thank God for headrests. I had a headache that lasted well over an hour! The woman was elderly & quite confused & since she hit our pick up her car sustained more damage. At least no real bodily harm was done. Our poor dog was with us, scared the crap out of him.

Want to wish all my readers & all the Disers a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!

Doris

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Solstice, Happy New Year's, and for all, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
