It was all started by a towel...

There really isn't any sort of planning or prepping going on right now. :confused3

I will pack on Sunday, which is mandated by the Packing Rules, covered earlier in this report. To recap, the Packing Rules state that all luggage must be packed in full at the 12 Day mark. Packing must be done in accordance with the Master Packing List for the season in which the trip will occur. The only items not bound by the 12 Day rule are items that must be used on the morning of departure.

I decided since I ALREADY have a rash there is no need to stay out of the sun, so I am enjoying the pool this week. And next week. The week after that I will probably be too busy dropping off and picking up kids (DS and my little charge) from camp to lounge at the pool.

DS MUST have a haircut. He looks like he has a haystack on his head. Not in a good way.

Zazu needs his next round of kitten vaccines.

I also need a haircut, color, and a pedicure. But not now. I want to wait until the last minute to have my toes done so they will look good the whole 2 weeks at WDW.

I wore my new sport sandals yesterday - they are nice! I think they will work for WDW. The Shoe Bag is going to be full. And heavy. Sigh. Maybe I will have to check 5 bags. Time will tell. ;)

What if you are not at home 12 days before the trip? Can one break the rules then?:rotfl2:

We need new photos of Zazu!

Glad the new sandals are working out well.

Um, no. There is no valid reason for circumventing the Packing Rules. AGAIN, you have failed to properly space your trips, Bernadette. :sad2: Tsk, tsk. I suppose you will have to pack for WDW before you leave for the Cape. I hope you have enough luggage for that.

Zazu moves too fast for photos these days. :rotfl: Or he falls asleep in the dark blue chair where it is almost impossible to get a good shot of him since he is all black. It's a wonder he has any hair at all since Arabella is chronically grooming him.

I have the shoes on again today. So far, so good.

I bought some under eye concealer at Nordstrom today. What I now see that I didn't notice before is that the inner rim of my lower lid is REALLY red. Once I had the concealer under my eye it accentuated how red that inner rim is. I am not sure if a shot of Visine would fix that or not. So for now I am going to hope the redness diminishes in the next 18 days!

Well....I didn't set the Cape trip dates...you know family obligation thing....and then Disney had the AP discount thing that expires 7/31 and I want to see friends at Disney......

Perhaps DH just needs the right lens to get a shot of Zazu.:rotfl2:

OK I better go run for cover now!:duck:

Families are overrated. ;)

And if you weren't trying to get in under the wire on the AP coupon you would have plenty of time to see us because we are there until 8/15.

I am sure DH would tell you he needs that lens to take pics of Zazu. But the fact of the matter is he doesn't like to take pics of people or pets. He likes to take pics of bugs. If the bug is on a flower then he likes it even more.

The other day he was taking pics of all the crap on our balcony. Like the grill, the door knob, a dirty lawn chair... Something to do with the viewfinder being too small to see what he is taking a pic of so he was comparing what he thought he saw to what the photo would be? Yeah. I know. Whatever. Not the sort of activity that makes me want to rush out and spend $439 on a lens. Though he did tell me last night there was a used one for $380. I thanked him for the info.

DS's BIG Dr. bill came in the mail today. Of course DH didn't open it and tell me how much it was for, he just called to tell me we received it. But unless it is MUCH lower than I was anticipating we will NOT have an extra $400 for a lens before we leave for WDW.

16 days until departure!!!

I have been working late every night this week. No, it does NOT make the time go faster, it makes me CRANKY! :headache:

It turns out the packet we got from the Dr. is just a report of his findings. The invoice is being sent separately. So we still don't know how much the bill is!

DS announced yesterday that he thinks he wants to be a zookeeper. OK, fair enough. He is not interested in the veterinary aspect of it, just wants to do animal care, observation, etc. Hopefully he will be able to find some CMs to chat with at AK and AKL so he can gather some more info.

15 days until departure!

Apparently DH is on a mission this morning to make me really, really angry. And it is WORKING! This was a very bad choice for him. He will figure that out soon enough.

Today is the last day of eye drops! YAY!! :yay: The eye continues to look better and worse, depending on the light in the room. Tedious, really.

I will be packing this weekend. For the most part I am finished shopping. I do need to exchange a defective lip liner, but beyond that I think I am all set.

I transferred my Visa Reward Dollars to the card yesterday. I will need to go get travelers checks, but that can wait another week or so.

Zazu is going to the vet this afternoon for his well check.

I need to decide if I want the pet sitter to stop by the day we leave and the day we come home, then I need to call and confirm that with her.

After some research we found that AK/AKL offers paid internships in Animal Programs, but DS has to be a college junior to be considered. He can volunteer in a similar capacity at our local zoo after he finishes his freshman year of college. Hopefully we will be able to meet some of the current interns during our trip so he will be inspired! Since he is just going to be in 8th grade he will have a rather long wait before he can apply. ;)

14 days until departure!!!

DS will be going for a haircut today.

I am doing laundry (again) because tomorrow is PACKING DAY!!!

OK, so maybe TODAY is packing day!

My carry-on is done. I am making my way towards my checked bag, and I am gathering the stuff for the Shoe Bag.

13 days until departure!!

DH's camera strap arrived yesterday. He has attached it to the camera. That camera looks heavy. I hope he doesn't swing around and hit some kid in the head with it.

My bags are packed. The shoe bag is about half full. I am not really sure what else needs to go in there. This is the good thing about the Packing Rule. I have plenty of time to figure out what else needs to go in there.

I have DS's carry-on completely packed and in the luggage line-up. I need to start his checked bag because I pulled a bunch of his clothes out and then left them on the floor in his room. I realized 1) he wore some of the shorts I need to pack and 2) I figured I would wash all of the new shorts. So once all of those are dry I can get them all packed. I must not forget to leave an outfit for him to wear on the plane. As for what he will wear around home the next 2 weeks? Nike athletic shorts. During the year he wears them for PE. I figure he can wear them for 2 weeks in the summer. He also has swim trunks in there. I am sure he will figure it out.

I have discovered that some naughty cat likes to gnaw the zipper pulls on the carry-on that we store under my bed. They look a little odd, but they still work fine.

I have finished packing for DS.

I bought another lint roller and a new bottle of eye drops at Target, so I THINK we are all set now.

DH picked up my suitcase and immediately started to screech about it being overweight for the plane. He claims it weighs close to 70 lbs. It does NOT.

We weighed it on the Wii Fit (which is harder than it sounds) and it said 45 lbs. The bathroom scale puts it close to 50 lbs. Either way, it is NOT 70 lbs. It has basically the same stuff in it that was in it last year, and it wasn't over last year, either!

It seems that Captain Sig's appearance at Epcot has now been confirmed! I hope I have the patience to stand in the line to meet him!

:scared1: I do hope your calculations are correct!

Eleven days until departure!

Well, this is NOT good. :sad2: Zazu was supposed to go in for neutering today. He was not supposed to have any food after 10 PM. DH left a brand new bag of cat food on the floor in the kitchen, and some enterprising cat (I am assuming one of the females) tipped the bag over and ripped it open! :scared1: I have no idea how much Zazu ate, so I see a cancelled surgery in our future. :headache:

10 days until departure!!!

Zazu is back on schedule for his surgery today. Hopefully that will go well.

My eye is NOT going well. Something else is wrong with it - it's all puffy. I am still on antibiotics! WHY is it all puffy?? :scared1: I suppose this warrants a call to the eye Dr. I am guessing it is either pink eye or another stye. I have only been off of the eye drops for 4 days, and I don't even know if the drops I have will get rid of pink eye.

Every day comes with it's own surprises.

:dance3:NINE days until departure!!:dance3:

Vet said Zazu's surgery went fine. DH will pick him up this morning.

My eye is about the same as yesterday.

Apparently it is time for the freak show dreams to start. Just had one about going to the airport barefoot.

DH's work schedule was switched unexpectedly, so he actually had to pack yesterday. I'm not really sure where he is in that process, but at least he has started!

EIGHT days until departure!!

Zazu is home and seems to be recovering well so far.

My eye is about the same, but no worse, so I'll take that.

DH is mostly packed.

That's about it!
