My bf actually put on a pair of swim pants and a t-shirt and went to Typhoon Lagoon with Miss Maddy and I today...and he actually stayed the ENTIRE TIME Miss Maddy and I were there.

Why is this such a miracle, you might ask? Well...for one...I've NEVER seen the man in a bathing suit on in any body of water before since I've known him. The LAST time he went swimming was well over 10 years ago! (He never went swimming on the Wonder, and we never made it to Castaway Cay...so I didn't get to see him in his bathing suit then, either)

Poor thing is very sore and a bit sunburned :sunny: ...but all in all, the three of us had a blast. Those mini donuts were YUMMY!!! :teeth: Maddy loved the wave pool and I personally liked the "lazy river". My arms are a bit red, but Maddy was well slathered in sunscreen...so she's good :)

Only thing that surprised me about the park was the amount of STAIRS that you have to climb. I didn't mind it, my bf got a bit winded. Maddy didn't care, she was carried most of the way :)

Other than that, it was a wonderful afternoon...we were there from 2-6 and there was hardly anyone there! :) Best of all...he wants to do Blizzard Beach NEXT week! Woot! I'll make him a water park goer yet!

So you've got a non-swimmer...

It's great to hear that he's coming around! I love Typhoon Lagoon! ya gotta love that wave pool!:sunny:

I gotta agree with you-those mini donuts are worth the price of admission...plus $4.00..lol

Did you swim with the sharks??

There are even more stairs at BB. Do the family raft ride, that is the best. When they take your picture at the end, make sure Miss Maddy is positioned in front of your tummy and thighs, not like my DH -- who hogged all the kids in front of him. That is my slimming trick I learned from another DISer - put the kids in front of you at all times.

Did he have a good time?

I can totally relate...........to your BF!! The last time I was in a pool was in 1982! I DID have a bathing suit one summer with an old BF but that was in 86! I DO NOT do swimming or pools. I do know HOW to swim, just am not comfortable in the pool (fish 'out' of water?? :crazy2: ). My kids REALLY want me to do this with them in Dec. Maybe I can use him as inspiration!!:sunny:

Yes, he had a great time. He was especially wonderful with Maddy. They played "run from the wave!" in the wave pool and she had a blast.

Our pictures didn't turn out so great, so we didn't buy any....a good excuse to go again!! :)

Neat, Steph. Closest I have been to any the water parks at WDW is the highways passing them y. :)

Sounds like fun.

Way to convert him!!!

So cute. The things men do for love, isn't it amazing? :)

Isn't it wonderful when our men 'come around' to the stuff we really love? I'm still amazed that my dh has taken to WDW as much as he has. Have a great time at BB!!

Sounds like you guys had a great time!:sunny: We went there in February for the first time and had a blast!:teeth:
