It was a secret trip!

We are going again next month to DLP,think its the 18th (useless with dates) ! staying in the Cheyenne with our son Ben who is 5 and my 2nd eldest child Sarah who is 16. Myself and the wife was keeping it under wraps for Sarah as she has just finished her exams and we thought oh to heck with it lets go! lol well it was a disguised Disney holiday break for 2 nights 3 days but we told her we was going to aA Haven Holiday Park in Cleethorpes! lol She seem fine with that.The plan was to drive from here to St Annes to pick her up and see how far we would get down the motorway before she said ...er Dad which way are we going ( probably asked about Folkestone lol) and i was going to say to her oh just look at these ( booking slip) and just confirm the Sat Nav coordinates lol. Well weve since thought it would be wrong not to tell her as she would have no Disney stuff with her not even her lanyard or even any Euros along with no shorts etc ! lets face it it will probably rain in Cleethorpes! so weve told her and shes delighted!
So its not a week in a caravan but a visit to Disney! wahoo cant wait ! Though she keeps taunting me with your going on the TOT and my reply is no way !

Brilliant!! We have our DD saving pocket money to buy a Rapunzel dress, little does she know she'll be buying it in DLP on her surprise birthday trip
Im bursting to tell her! I think you were best to tell your DD though and now she can be in on the planning.

Def best to tell a 16 yr old girl, imagine not having the right clothes or shoes

That is lovely 0 something for her to really look forwrd to. We aren't telling DD about our jan birthday trip, everytime she sees the disney castle she says 'been there' so we will wait to we actually get there to spring the surprise on her. My dd doesn't mind so much about what she is wearing as long as it is a dress and her euros will be mine

What a fabulous after-exam treat!! No wonder you're all excited!

I also think you've done the right thing in telling her - I've got three teenage DDs and whilst we did surprise them on our last trip by pretending we'd booked one hotel when we'd really booked another I wouldn't want to spring any bigger surprises than that on them.
