It happened, we did get VGC!

3 week nights in May. Our adventure will begin in Tampa, visiting our family, then WDW to enjoy F&G, stopping at VB, on through the Panama Canal on DCL, then some Cali national parks and finally DisneyLand!

DH breathed a sigh of relief, I often think I have to own where I want to stay!this is most likely a 1 time stay! Yeah, we got in at 7 months!

I checked the VGC thread to learn about requests, thank you for mentioning that! It seems as if you can face the World of Color. Is " view of Paradise Pier" an acceptable request? I usually e-mail my requests to MS.

At VGC you can request specific rooms by room number. Many, including me on most stays, have had great success with that. I usually call MS and read them a list of rooms in the order I want.

On that page at the bottom of Nonsuch's post is his great layout of the rooms by type and view in his signature. Check that out, keeping in mind where he has VGC and the rooms by color legend is where the pool is.

You can do that or as Breyean mentioned VGC is a small enough resort that it also can work to request certain room numbers. Honestly I've had mixed luck. I've done no request and got the pool view - it's very nice and had a benefit of allowing me to look down and see how many were in the hot tub. One trip I requested high floor Paradise Pier view and did get exactly that. Then I tried the room numbers and received either the 3rd or 4th choice which was a room with the Grizzly peak view. Also liked that room as well.

As another tip - at DL the room number is listed at the top of the form you sign for check in so you'll know if you got a request or not and if you want to try and ask for a different assignment.

Wow, the thread showing the views has some spectacular ones!

DH & I did the EBTA DCL cruise as the 45th anniversary gift to each other! this trip seems to top that! As we approach 50 years, I will need help planning.
