There wasn't anyone around. I took my usual shortcut. Also they didn't have a lic plate..at all. When I was a bartender I saw a stinking drunk guy leave (I didn't serve him). I called the police to report it and they told me that unless I could detain him they wouldn't be able to come for about an hour. I really didn't know how much they could do if I didn't have a lic plate number. These guys obviously had this planed.

However, you could have provided police with the last seen/known location of these nasty li'l people because it does sound like they were looking for people like you and more.

I am sorry that happened to you. As evidenced, there are crazies on both sides. It is awful that you had to meet up with one of them.

Did you not have a cell phone with you to call the police while they were bumping you? If you are in the process of being attacked, they would come right away.

And do call the police. Tell them that you first met up with these criminals in the store parking lot. They may be hiding out there looking for more victims.

I know there weren't any plates, but I think you should still report it. If they do it to someone else (or several someones) they may be able to keep a look out for the truck, and God forbid, they cause an accident, there could be additional charges or more severe charges. It's worth a try, anyway.

Having nothing to do with the politics surrounding this situation, I would have HAD to call the police and report this. Think about the lesson learned by your daughters. You have no idea if the police could have been helpful since you didn't bother calling. They HIT your car repeatedly! They endangered your FAMILY. I just do not understand.

I was targeted yesterday because of my political bumper sticker.

I went to the grocery store, after I picked up my girls from school, yesterday. When I finished putting the groceries in my car I her very loud yelling and a "Hey You!" My DD11 thought they were talking to us but I usually don't pay attention to what others are saying...i it doesn't relate to me. As I was leaving the parking ot the truck next to me left as well. I then started down my shortcut through a residential area. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw that truck so close to me that I actally could see the pictures on the driver's shirt. I slowed down, didn't work. I then tapped my breaks to get them to back off. That was when they actually bumped my car. My DD's started screaming. They then hit my car again. Not that hard but still it was hard enough to notice. I turned on my left blinker so I could go into a busy parking lot. They went around my left side, so I couldn't turn. And yelled "F- You, you mother F-ing "C". The 3 huge signs filled their windows. They read vote for McCain and get r*ped for 8 more years. There was a cartoon McCain r*aping a cartoon Palin that was wearing only the American Flag.
My dd's were so upset luckily they didn't get that good of a look at the sign. My youngest was trying to read it but didn't have time. I had to hit reverse and go into the parking lot. I got the make of the truck but they didn't have a lic plate.

I just cannot believe that anyone would act this way. I am just so discusted how people would act. This is America and if I want to put a "Women for McCain" sticker or a "Women for Obama" sticker on my vehicle I should be able to that without worry that I could be attacked.

You said you turned into a busy parking lot which is where they showed you the signs. Do you think anybody there also saw it?

You have the description of the truck, you know what they were wearing, down to the pictures on their shirts and you were in a busy parking lot when you stopped.

That is plenty for the police to work on.

I am so sorry this happened to you and your daughters. We don't have any political info on our cars because you never know what nut job is going to go postal and do something to a vehicle or the occupants.

While it's probably too late, I would have called from the car on my cell phone, after calming the DD down, to report it.

I saw a "hit and run" once, got the license plate of the pickup truck that hit the parked van and did major damage to it, got the other witness to give me his phone number, saw the owners coming to their van and pulled him over there with me, and we gave all our information to the owners. The police called me about 3 hours later to confirm and they arrested the driver. It does work.

Wow , you could have given the police a description of the car/truck that they were driving. You stated that they were close enough for you to read what was printed on their shirts then you obviously could have given the police a description of the perpetrators. I would call them now to let them know that such dangerous people are driving around terrorizing your neighborhood. They could have killed you and your DDs by tapping the back your car. You could have lost control of your car.
