It finally happened...{sigh...}

I, too, hear the familiar cry of my family..."again?" For some reason the rest of my family (my parents and two sisters) were born without the Disney gene. I alone possess the capacity for unless WDW enjoyment. Fortunately, I married a man with a similar enjoyment of all things of the Mouse. We are blessed with two children who don't show any signs of disney dislike (now in their late teens).

Well I travel solo but my family looks at me crosseyed when I tell them I'm going AGAIN. I tell them its what makes me HAPPY so what do they care. I work all year and this is the one thing I truely enjoy even though its only for a week. Its one week of pure pleasure for me.

We don't even tell my mil that we are going to WDW anymore!!! She just doesn't get it. Yes, I guess there are other places to go and we will see them too. I'll be going to WDW solo in late Nov and there are some that think I'm crazy...after all, why in God's name would I want to go to a kid's place by myself??? Others are envious. My own mother never got it either...once she had made the trip with my dd and myself, that was it. She had been with her granddaughter, so why did we need to keep going back. I think she died so that she wouldn't have to hear about our buying DVC :rotfl: !!! But, she's probably sitting on her little cloud, just shaking her head. Nope, some just don't understand why we go...but they go to the Cape or the Jershey shore every year to the same cottage.

My family laughs every time I say I am going to Disney. I admit I am Disney crazy and proud of it. Thy just don't understand what they are missing. Disney makes you feel like a kid all the time and there is no better feeling. Who else give you all the entertainment and fun in one spot and yo get to see MICKEY MOUSE too!!! :confused3 ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo I LOVE MICKEY!!!!

WE have some family members who always give us a hard time about our "going to Disney again, why not someplace else"! I finally got tired of it and told them "there are also other places to go than Cape Hadderas (spelling?) which they go to twice a year every year!!!! So , my DW and I will continue to go see Mickey when we want even multiple times a year if we want! :banana: :banana: :earsboy: :earsgirl: Go Mickey!!!!!!

I hear you on this. My brother in-law and his wife can't believe we've been 4 times in 6 years. They wonder what the fascination is. My wife's other brother and his wife don't say anything when we mention WDW, they just ignore us/tolerate us. What's really funny to me is that there is a seeming air of "vacation superiority" about them. "you're going to a theme park, while we're going to a national park or a beautiful beach". They've never been to WDW before and I dare say they will never go. It's some kind of weird anti-WDW pride. Of course, they go to the Red-Neck Riviera at least twice a year. Yeah, that's a superior vacation. The thing is, I've tried their versions of vacations more than once and actually enjoyed them, but they refuse to do a WDW family gathering. There's always an excuse. But it's never money. They have the money. Oh well, maybe someday....

My husband and I get the same response from his family (parents, brother, etc). Try not to let it get to you. It bothered me at first, but now I could care less what they think about us going to Disney World again. After all, its our vacation, not theirs. And we are happy going.

We don't even bother saying anything anymore...in fact family members now looked surprised if they ask us and we say we have no trip planned, lol! ;)

Ok, mrcricket....what the heck is the "Redneck Riveria?!?!?" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Redneck Riviera is an affectionate term that some in the south have given the coastal area around Destin, FL. Even my Brother-in-law calls it that and he loves it there. Hope that clarifies.

I have lots of people that I don't bother to tell anymore and we only get to wdw every couple of years! Then there are the people that before I tell them, I say "Don't say anything about us going to wdw again".

My dh lives in Portland Oregon now so I have to add that to my places to go but I won't give up going to wdw.
