Curiosity got the best of me, what can I say. So I went to

http://www.lifegem.com

to see what this was all about. If you have not heard of it here are the basics.

When you die you can either pre-pay or your family can pay to have you cremated and made into DIAMONDS! They are not clear diamonds but instead a deep yellow/gold diamond. These are real diamonds certified and all.

You can have about 50 one carat diamonds made from a body.

It will cost $13,000 to have me princess cut....

Well, how about that. But the thought just creeps me out. lol

Does that include faceting to the cut of your choice? Are settings extra?

:)

At least they offer a discount on 2 or more...

What I loved about the site, the pictures on the right, couples and family members, but below are captions like "I'll always be there..." That is even creepier.

It said it could set it for you and any cut you want is available but round, princess and another i don't remember are the best.

OK, but how are they going to revive me in 1000 years? I want to be there when Walt comes back. :)

But if it's cut for the facets isn't that cutting off part of you. Like your nose, arm or something???

haha, now i can become soneone's bling-bling.... hahahaha:tongue:

I've read about this before. I absolutely love the idea! Now, if I only had the cash.............:earseek:

kinda creepy, but got me thinking - we had our wonderful dog cremated, could I have his remains turned into a diamond. His name was Crown Jewel Eisenhower (Ike) - he was a true gem so it just makes sense. Dh would probably put me away for good:crazy:

Well they do have cheaper options. I just quoted the one carat...I like to think big. But you can go down to .20 or something a little more economical. Maybe a pair of studs in the shape of mickey???

so are these "sunset" colored diamonds worth more than the clear ones? I've heard colored diamonds are worth a lot.

Not a bad idea, but I know I would lose my loved ones Diamond and that wouldn't be good. Wouldn't be worth it.

I don't think I'll ever think of estate sale diamonds the same way again :teeth:

:jester: ::yes::

When I saw that on the news...I thought it was a GREAT idea!! My 4 "angel" cats are up in my closet in boxes....BUT, I don't think DH would go for the idea....I wouldn't wear it....would be too afraid to lose it....but it would be a nice display with their pics around it....
