It can take a long time, but...

Yes! I will buy a computer! I promise.

But first things, first. I need to get our bedrooms painted, move DS out of the nursery, turn that room into an office, and buy a desk so I have a place to put the computer.

I have to say that I'm relieved that the company is giving me so much notice before I have to clear out of here. I don't really want to work during the holidays, though, but I will. :D

December 31 will be my last day. I'll probably be blubbering that day! I practically grew up here. I started when I was 29 and single. Now I'm 40 with a husband, child, and house.

I've shared so much with my co-workers through the years, too. I had a whole table full of them as guests at my wedding. And I got two separate baby showers here. One from my department (at the time) and the other from all the girls who work in my position. I've gotten to know some very special people here.

JJ,
I know what you mean. I started getting my hair cut at the place I worked at when I was 13. No one esle has cut my hair since! These girls watched me grow up. I started working there when I was 18. I met DH there and got married and had Hunter while I was there! I was there 11 years. I was so ready to move on and start my own business but I cried the day I left too.

That's great JJ!!

Make sure to stock up on those office supplies before you go though. They can certainly add up. :D

Won't be needing much of those, RM! LOL! I'm not planning to do much office work in the future.

LOL, JJ! You sound like I did. I started working at one bank when I was 16, a senior in HS. They went through, proms, graduation, boy friends, partying years, etc... with me. That bank got bought out by another bank so I went to the new bank, with most of the same people from the first job. While there I planned my wedding, got married and had 1st DS with them all. After a total of 10 years with most of these people, that bank got bought out by another and my job was eliminated. Although I was thrilled about becoming a SAHM, I was a mess the whole last week. Our final day together we all just sat around and cried. DH ended up sending me a flower arrangement and the card said "Heres to the future". I just lost it! :(
Good luck! It will be tough Im sure, but well worth it. :)

Yes but your son still needs supplies right?

Congratulations Janice. I did that a few years ago with a company I had been with for almost 10 years. Of course my package wasn't that nice. Just remember the tax rate may not be the same as the tax rate for a paycheck. When I was laid off in May, my whole whopping two weeks of pay was taxed at about 35%.

I'm happy for you JJ!:D Enjoy Life!

No, the school has us buying them through them now. A way of raising funds without raising tuition, I suppose.

But thanks for your interest! (I'm surprised at how much you care about me and my life, Kimberly. It's quite touching. :D)

Congrats Janice! I know this is what you have been waiting and hoping for for a while now. It's awesome that your DH makes enough to support you guys without your income.

It is, isn't it? Good Luck in your future endeavors.

That is totally awesome news Janice! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I am so happy you can stay home with DS now. The trips to Disney can be put on hold for now. Just enjoy your time with DS. :D That's the most important thing.

LOL kid! I assume His Lordship is referring to candy. Like Peg Bundy used to eat on the couch, right?

Actually, I'm going to try to get in better shape. I lost a good amount of weight this summer, but have kind of stalled since.

Now that I'll be home and not sitting at a desk all day, I hope I can get down to my pre-baby weight. (And I had that baby 6 years ago. ;))

We're thinking about getting DS a puppy for Christmas. He's been begging us for one, and since it's likely I'll be home for several months, I can train the dog then.

Here's hoping that doggie gives me a work-out running around on his leash!

Congratulations!!
Good luck to you in the future and enjoy your time at home. I've been a SAHM for a little over 5 yrs now. And since I just had DS this past July it looks as if I'll be at home for at least 5 more years.:)

Congratulations Janice! Enjoy your new career at home :)
