It’s Always Sunny in California!..Eh?...L’il Bit!

Ack, you never did see any of those offsite hotels! Sorry! We should have just walked over there for you so you could see them. You have to pass the bus depot first, so I would say that it is the same distance to get to the street they are on as it is to get to the entrance to DGC.

I have so enjoyed reading about your adventures and best yet you just saved me about $411.10!!!

:scared1: You are correct, the ferris wheel is indeed a death trap. I didn't like the swinging and I really didn't like that there was nothing to hold onto. Stay away!

CA has changed so much since I was there last. You've done a good job with your overview. :thumbsup2 I'm toying with going in June to visit my sons who live in California but I can't get off the fence post and decide.

My husband has a golf tournament each July and I usually treat myself to a Broadway play that day. I was looking at tickets earlier today to see Aladdin. $211 for a matinee. Plus train, plus lunch and dinner (and 10 cents for a postcard for my mother at one of the cheapie places). I didn't realize there is such a big production at CA. If I go to Disneyland I can forgo NYC and save over $400. Thanks.

That boiler room is really creepy! Great pictures in there. You got lots of low level lighting!

OMG your redneck ride photo is just too funny! Thanks for sharing. You look like a little kid! So cute!

So it drops right away? You always know in WDW because you can see the light come in as you line up in the shaft. This sound scarier.

Your pictures from the Aladdin show are wonderful. That looks like such a cool show.

I forget Jen - what time of year were you there? I think I am going to plan a trip for the last week of February because I still have some left over DVC points that I don't want to bank.

Great updates!

Jen, fabulous, fabulous pictures from the Aladdin Show. It sounds and looks wonderful. I've added it to my list.

You probably remember more than I do. I know it was set up differently all around. I also found out later the elevators are double deckers. We had people below us on the same ride. I thought that was weird when I realized that.

OOOOOOh that is weird about the double deckers. I was really distracted by that hallway that turned out to be the exit later.

Wasn't Aladdin cool???? That elephant was really cool and I laughed when I realized it had hydraulics to lower it so it could get out the doorway. :lmao:

Genie stole the show. I do not think I actually saw the carpet fly- I guess it was having issues, I would think I would have remembered that.

That's OK..and I think we drove by that side the one day and I could see it.

Well I am always happy to save people money! :thumbsup2 Even if it is with fuzzy Disney Math! :rotfl2:

I think was was laughing so hard through the whole ride. It was a bit scarier as I had no clue when we would drop and then it just came! You have a little time sitting there, but since I was unfamiliar with it, I just didn't know when it would happen.
Aladdin is a fabulous show. You must go and see it!
I was there the last week of Feb as well. I arrived on the 23rd.

Jen, fabulous, fabulous pictures from the Aladdin Show. It sounds and looks wonderful. I've added it to my list.

It's a good one to put on your to do list! There are so many things to do that are slightly different or totally different there. I really think we tackled our to do list very nicely while we were there. Of course there is so much more I didn't see, but I am very happy with the amount of things we did. We had a few things that never did get tackled that we left for Friday...and weather was not our friend that day. :rolleyes1

I think I noticed the double deckers while waiting for Aladdin. I watched it open the doors as it would go up and down and I noticed it always opened 2 doors and then it clicked to me why we went upstairs to get on while others went downstairs.
I had seen a show a while back about the elephant and I thought that was so neat. Sadly it was pretty much out the door and moving by the time Cass pointed it out to me.
Genie is fabulous. I have heard that the flying carpet has a lot of issues and many times it does not work, so I was pretty excited it flew that day.

We kept moving along and spotted the Mad Hatter out for a meet and greet. I took some quick shots of him as we walked by.

He wasn’t cooperating and looking directly at me like I wanted him too.

We had a mission, a ride both of us wanted to ride, so I followed Cass as she led the way through Adventureland.

DL felt more crowded to me, even with the narrower paths.

I never did make it to Tarzan’s treehouse, but I took pictures of it several times.

Ok….I have one favorite ride above all others at WDW and DL has its own version which is different and longer. I HAD to ride it.

The line was long, but we got in anyways.
Hey look the D Suite is right there!

Of course I occupied some of the time by taking pictures.

Finally we made it in and loaded onto our boat. The queue and loading area is totally different than WDW’s version. You also start out going around the Blue Bayou restaurant and you can see people dining.

I attempted to take a few pictures on the ride, but most did not come out very well.

There are some scenes that are close to the same and some are very different.

I believe the skull on the headboard is a real skull!!

The treasure room is very different and it is towards the beginning of the ride.

Of course the ride has some familiar scenes in it too!

We Wants the Redhead!!!

Now Captain Jack is sitting at the very end. At WDW he looks so real! This one…..not so much. The 2nd time we rode this ride I noticed it more and thought “wow, he looks really bad!” and at that same moment Cass turned to me and said the same thing. He was kind of dirty looking and just not quite right.

So my thoughts on DL’s version of Pirates? I loved it! I would not say it’s better than WDW, but I love them both equally. It’s different and fun and I am really glad to finally see this version of it.

The exit area of the ride comes out here so I had to get a few more shots.

Off we went. Another ride that was on our list was the Matterhorn, so we headed that way.

Before riding this bad boy, I needed to make a potty run!

How cute is this area????

I snuck a picture inside because it was just themed so well.

When we came out we went to check the wait time…..the line was quite long, but we planned to use the single rider line. Well they informed us the ride was not running right now and they were not sure when it would be back to running. We could wait if we wanted to, but we chose to keep moving.

I then spotted these ladies walking in high heels. I have no clue how they could be comfortable walking around a park in those things. I took a quick crappy picture of them because I was just amazed.

I can’t even stand in those type of shoes, let alone walk in them!

Onward we went. We spotted It’s a Small Word. And yes I would have LOVED to ride the original version, but sadly it was down for refurbishment, which was the case with a lot of rides and attractions while we were there that week.

We came across some ducks that were just so darn cute. Of course I got a picture.

And it was time for a snack for me! I was getting pretty darn hungry and I needed something to tie me over.

Ok, maybe not so much hungry….but I NEEDED a Mickey bar! LOL

I love the latest update. The only problem with going off season is the refurbishments. I still go of season because I prefer a smaller crowd. We have been in June a few times and all the rides were up but we rode on less rides because they were that busy.

It was pretty busy when we were there! They really had a lot down too, more than normal from what I read, but that is just a reason to go back.

We were there in January. The 5th through the 10th and the crowds were awful on the 5th because it was the last day of the holiday season. Everyone wanted to see the Haunted Mansion before it was closed for the rehab. The rest of the visit was great! There were very few closures. But, I can always find a reason to go back! :rotfl:

Sounds like you made out pretty good in DL- I took pictures of that restroom too! So cute.

Indiana Jones was down when I went so I know that is a priority for me. ::yes::

Bummer bout missing small world but yay for Mickey bars! :goodvibes

The Aladdin show looks amazing! You got some really really good pictures. :thumbsup2

Disneyland does look more crowded than the other park. Maybe it was a combination of the narrower pathways AND more people.

I can see that. I think we were busy because people came for dapper days and then stayed.

It was such a cool restroom.
It's a great ride. I hear a lot say it's their favorite.

Getting caught up again!

Love that restroom picture, that's neat!!

Have fun on your trip!!!

Yeah that was a bummer. A Mickey bar makes everything better though.

I think it was that very combo.

LOVE all your pics!

Thanks!

Jen, just wanted to let you know that I sent one of my Dis friends over to your cruise reports. She booked a Disney cruise less than 30 days out and has never been before. Hopefully, she can get some great tips from reading your reports.:thumbsup2

Since we were in the area of Small World still, I decided it was time to take a few more pictures.

And now it was time to head to Toontown.

We checked out some wait times and looked around, but we had limited time right now and everything was pretty busy today.

Hey! There’s Goofy!
