Issues requesting two villas close to one another?

I've had good luck with this.

In May we had 2 2-bedrooms and I asked if they could be close together. We were right across the hall from each other.

Went May of 2010 had 2 2-bedrooms and one studio. The 2 2-bedrooms were again across the hall from each other and the studion was a little down the hall.

I make my request by email to MS a few months before we arrive.

Now when we travel alone I've never gotten my room requests so I guess it is the luck of the draw.

What about 1 reservation on points and 1 on cash? We are staying in on our points and our family is staying on cash? Any thoughts on this?

And I guess I should clarify. The cash reservation is not through Member Services... its through Disney Travel Company.

We made reservations for a group at 11 month at our home resort of VWL. We had 2-2BR & 2 studios and the 2 2BR were right across the hall from each other and the studios were both the next rooms down the hallway. So, we were very successful. Our next family trip - we needed 2 2BR, and 4 studios. We changed our reservation at 7 months to BCV. We were all on the same floor - but were not what I would consider close to each other. I assume it had to do with the 11 month/7 months difference as to the closeness. But - that is only a guess.

We are booked in a 2 br and a studio at BLT in two and a half weeks, so I'll let you know what happens! We are registered as "traveling with" so hopefully we will be close together. :wizard:

I think everyone has given some great answers to your question... I might just add that it is pretty straight forward. As has been mentioned, your best bet is to request they be listed "travel with". Then make sure to call week before and verify your ressie info is correct. Then just don't worry about it, Disney will try their best to accommodate. If you are going at a busy time or to busy resort like BLT, your chances are lower, simply because they have to have rooms coming open to offer them to you... the higher the hotel is booked to capacity, the greater chance that rooms are already occupied. It really is just luck of the draw... but don't stress, Disney will try their best... :thumbsup2

Really the time you booked shouldn't have affected you since they don't assign rooms until the time you arrive. More likely the issue was requesting 6 rooms to be near each other, and at BCV which runs close to capacity most of the time. That's a pretty tall order when you think about it :)

Sounds like they did still try though, so hope you trip was magical nonetheless :thumbsup2

Thanks for the "travel with" tip. We will be booking soon to bring family down in 2013, the first time we've ever booked more than one room. I'll cross my fingers and hope for pixie dust!
