Issues at Boardwalk possibly due to Food & Wine going on?

Hmmmm....BWV owner with 8 stays there (out of our 32 DVC stays since buying in 2006). Never experienced this. We never had a BW view room though. Though last stay was in one of those side BW views (looking at that green grass area) and we did notice it was busy and loud...until about 11pm. I am a light light sleeper too but had no issues after 11pm. Though DH and I agree we don't want to request that location again (I had requested it). I book standard view as often as I can. Then we just hear the beeping of the airport luggage trucks.

For the poster above that suggested calling security from the room, how would you go about doing this? Is there a security button on the phone?
Do you call the front desk and ask for security?

It might be useful for others issues in addition to noise lasting until 2:30 on the boardwalk.

Sorry to hear about the issues with guests.
We have stayed at BWV for the last several years and never had an issue with noise or guests. We have done the 1 BR garden view.
I have also been on the Boardwalk area at night watching the acts.
OTOH, I have seen many very drunk people at the EPCOT area on the weekends during F&W.

The reality is that if you want a quiet room, BW View rooms are not for you. They are for people who want a room on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, or Times Square in New York City or Picadilly Circus in London. They are the most "happenin'" hotel rooms at Disney - and frankly not everyone likes "happenin'." Boardwalk is set up - more than any other resort, for drinkers to stumble back to their beds. Disney isn't going to do much, because plenty of people realize this is the case and don't book those rooms - and there are plenty more who want those rooms and don't mind the noise - and they make a lot of change selling alcohol. Sometimes they are fine - and sometimes they are loud - and the perception of individuals is going to depend on how quiet they are used to and how quiet they can tolerate.

Complaining about the noise from the Boardwalk is a little like booking a room at SSR and saying "we had to take the bus everywhere." You booked a room over a string of bars - what did you expect?

The Food & Wine Classic at the Swan and Dolphin was the weekend of October 26-27 so that may have contributed. They had a ticket option for unlimited beverages so there were probably more drunks that weekend than the usual convention/wedding/festival crowds.

Did you READ my first post lol? I didn’t say we expected a quiet room. We’ve stayed here plenty of times, with the same view. We went to Abracadabar, the espn club and Bellevue ourselves on this trip. There’s drinking and having fun, and then there just a$$e$ who have no self control. Just didn’t expect an all out rager party three days in a row. Believe me, we’re not geriatric teetotalers here with unrealistic expectations. I was just trying to ascertain if this was the new normal though, as all our trips previous weren’t like this and if the management is letting things that out of control slide we’ll be booking in our 7 month window elsewhere more or grabbing standard views. I think it was a reasonable request to give details to try and compare to others experiences so we can make decisions about future trips.
I completely disagree with your Bourbon Street and Times Square though... if they want to go there and act like drunken loons, they should go there. Not something advertised as a “family” resort.

That being said...your “honey he’s not that into you” about overhearing conversations cracked me up!! That was more like the commotion of previous trips and that stuff is just funny.

Yeah, that post wasn't really for you, it was for all those people who don't understand that Boardwalk is a busy place, that sometimes a rowdy wedding party or a group of drunks will take humming background noise over the top. Sorry about that. But it isn't new. We've had the loud wedding party not during F&W and the last time we stayed over F&W was probably a dozen years ago - and it was bad then too. I always say "noticeable, but I didn't find it disturbing" - but I've lived in some sirens all night sort of places, apartments where the upstairs neighbors seem to move their furniture every night at 2am, and currently live in a place where you can hear trains singing all night from the trainyard (its like whalesong - but not nearly as soothing) - but like the Boardwalk, I trade noise for an awesome view (mine overlooks the Mississippi).
