Issue with DVC owner transferring a reservation to my name

Hello, first time poster and DVC points renter here. We recently rented points from a reputable (we did lots of research on them) DVC owner. We signed his contract, confirmed our dates were booked (via screenshots) it was booked under the owners name to be changed after booking and we payed via PayPal. My question is this, has anyone had issues with MS transferring reservation into a renters name? The owner says he has called MS a couple of times and we are supposed to get a confirmation to my email with the name change a reservation number. This has been for a couple of weeks now and still no email. The owner has been responsive to us and says they are having some issues. Curious if anyone has had this similar experience or if there is anything I can do to help it. Thanks!
 
It's possible. The website has been glitchy lately and the hold times to get to MS can be quite lengthy.

In the meantime, I'd have him add you (and as many of the rest of your party to the reservation as he can without exceeding the villa max occupancy). If he does that, you should be able to link the reservation to your MDE account and then proceed with park reservations, etc. The owner can do that online using the reservation modify feature.

Then ask him to have MS change the lead person to you and delete him. He will have to call or chat with MS to get that done. If your reservation is more than a couple of months away, he could even email MS to get that done. Good luck!

Did they offer to add you all onto the reservation while this “ issue” is being addressed? I just completed a
modification of some guest online and it was no issue what so ever. I did not need to change the lead guest however. Ask him to add you and your party to the reservation so that you can link it in MDE. Once he takes his name off, the reservation number will stay the same but only update to remove himself.

Great! I was wondering if I could just take the reservation he has and plug that into my MDE account to view it. Sounds like that is possible if he adds me/my party to the reservation and then change the lead person with MS at a later time. We have a little bit of time before our reservation date, we just want to get it loaded in our MDE account.

This makes sense, I will have him do that. Thanks for the guidance!

I have had it take a few days to get the email. But, other times, quickly.
This^^^ Sometimes you get an email in a few minutes, sometimes a couple of hours, other times just never. If the owner has already linked the reservation to his MDE account it won’t be able to be linked to yours too. You’d have to wait for him to remove his name for that to work.

I don’t think this is correct. Any guest on the reservation can link to MDE as long as their names are on the reservation and spelled correctly!

Once a reservation is linked to an MDE account, it can’t be linked to another. If you are friends who share plans, the guests named will see it.

But the system won’t let it be added to more than one.
 
The issue I have run into is 90 + minute wait times, to get a ms cast member.
That is only if I don’t just book the res in the renter‘s name.

Now that it's been a while, and the thread got bumped inquiring minds want to know if things went ok for you.
