I'm taking my big girls to the area next week and my daughter is jonesing for some beach time.

Having grown up in NoCal, I have a different view of the beach than she does. She expects Florida gulf white sand beaches and clear water, since that's what we've done for family trips. She's an aspie, so scents and crowds aren't great for her.

She will not enjoy seaweed like I do. :P

Is there anywhere that we can just lay around with our toes in the sand? Maybe on the bay side somewhere?

I don't mind driving a ways for a better option than Huntington.

Corona Del Mar beach in Newport.

Both my kids are on the Autism spectrum and that's "our" beach. It's relatively small and quiet, nice facilities, and CLEAN. Sand is fine and white, waves are not too big, but there will probably be seaweed, sorry. Can't really get away from the seaweed in So Cal.

You do have to pay for parking (like $10 for all day) but it is VERY worth it because the parking lot is literally at the edge of the sand.
