Isn't this being a little too trusting?

To introduce myself: I am new to VMK, I've only been a member about a week. I really love this game so far!

Anyway, here's my story of the day. I went to someone's guest room to play a game. The owner left and asked me to wait there until he got back. While he was gone, another person came into the room and asked me to trade with her. She proceeded to offer me a green Christmas hat and asked me if I would give it to the room's owner when he got back. Surprised, I said, "Wow, do you really want to trust me with that?" and she just replied, "plz give it to him". She gave me the hat and then left. When the owner got back I asked him if he was expecting a green hat. He said "Oh yeah", asked me to trade and I traded the hat to him.

I still am confused as to why someone would just entrust a complete stranger with a rare hat . I have absolutely nothing yet in the way of rare items and I really wanted to keep that hat. I'm sure there are others who would keep it.

There are some very trusting ppl on vmk and that is exactly how they get their things stolen.

About a week ago Host Lily gave my friend inferno. Long story short she traded the inferno for alot of rare clothes sparrow and stitch being two. Her "best" friend asked if she could wear the sparrow and stitch just to take a pic and hang in her room. Trusting in her friend, she allowed this trade. Needless to say her friend then created a guest account to keep the goods and rip off my friend. Reporting did no good.

Moral of the story trust no one on vmk. I only have one person I can trust with anything, that's Sweet.

Well considering the green hat isn't too rare I suspect it wouldn't have really mattered but it's still nice to see that there are still good and respectable vmk players (even the new ones) in the game. Just the other week my friend asked to borrow my yellow space suit for a photo - op thingy and when I told her no she left my friends list for good. So now I believe that she only was my friend so she could rip some stuff off me. Well not too much harm done... I only knew her for about two months
