Quick question: are Poly owners going to have first crack at room reservation...something similar to the 11-month advantage? Can can of the legacy resale owner book?

Yes, they will create a home resort booking period for those who own PVB, and because it’s the same association, all PVB points will be eligible.

Any chance they're waiting for D23 this weekend to drop all the deets?
I don’t imagine they’ll drop all the deets, but I would be surprised if there isn’t an overview with a few new details either in the parks presentation or in one of the ancillary minor media events.

I also think the odds are decent that two of those details will be an on sale date for members and an an sale date for gen pub.

Then point charts and pricing (it’s gonna be whatever Riviera is) will be announced within 48 hours of on sale, if not morning of.

I am going to the D23 Expo tomorrow and the app description for the DVC Booth mentions a preview of Island Tower. While I doubt we'll have an on sale date, I'm intrigued to see what they have (likely just the still images we've all seen 1000x already).

@tjkraz has a new article on DVCNews after he analyzed the declarations blue prints.

He caught something that I don't believe has been talked about here.
The second floor has an upper lobby lounge. See Tim's article to see his information.

Nice article Tim!!!
I'm looking at the drawings, the updated concept art for the building, and recent construction photos and I just don't see how that can actually be a second floor lounge. My guess is that it's the same as the "lobby terrace" shown on the first floor, but for some reason it got renamed on the second floor.

I'm a little surprised the roof over the restaurant doesn't appear to be open as a viewing deck.

Great article @tjkraz ! In all our speculation and obsession over the last few years/months I didn’t even think once about a little gift shop. I guess I thought it would be a given considering the larger size of the lobby, and now I’m sad that there doesn’t seem like there will be one here. And also can’t believe they’re not going to take the opportunity to add a small cafe à la the ever popular RIV one.

For all of its criticism, at least the Riviera lobby has reason to linger around- what’s the point of a pretty, grander lobby when there’s little reason to walk and sit around and enjoy? I still think it’s a really pretty concept if it ends up like its images, but just a bit disappointed in the lack of amenities and additions. But maybe there’s more that hasn’t been listed and we’ll hear more in the coming weeks.

Another thought - I doubt anywhere listed as roof on the plans will have guest access.

But isn’t one of the complaints about GCH is that it’s too busy with visitors mulling around?

Good question. This corner platform is listed as "roof" on the 2nd floor diagram, though there are clearly guests in concept art for the 3rd floor. We don't yet have plans for the 3rd floor but Is there some reason to think the 2nd floor would be treated differently than the 3rd?

On the 9th floor, why would they create a design with 4 employees-only roof platforms that each have doorway access from the hall? If none are intended for guest use, they could have put a locked hatchway somewhere to the very top of the building (probably exists anyway) with ladders leading down to the 4 roof platforms.

I mean that’s fair. I think if there’s one true thing about us fans is what makes one group happy, upsets another. I never found GCH busy to the point of being annoyed by it (the pools were another thing 😅) so for me, I’d rather there be more things in the lobby area even if that means more visitors. I also thought that making the Poly tower lobby a bit more of a destination would have taken away some of the crowds from the main lobby, too. But I’m sure some will be happier with the thought of this lobby being just a check-in space, making for a calmer atmosphere.
