You can imagine how every booking phone call is going to go tomorrow… the CMs are going to have to explain every room in detail to every person: sleeping arrangements, facilities, bathrooms, layout, price, view… they will be pulling their hair out by the end of the day if Disney doesn’t release any details in advance. Poor sods.

... or when someone calls in they ask 'What dates would you like?', and then they'd tell you what's available. '1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms are available for that stay'.

You'd ask 'How many beds in a 1 bedroom?' - they would say 'The system doesn't tell us'. What is the view? 'The system doesn't tell us'. What's the cost? 'The system doesn't tell us. Just give us your credit card number and we'll charge you when that information becomes available'

You can always just cancel your booking if the rooms/details don't meet expectations...that's at least my no fun/common sense take.

Only that the first night open will be sometime in December. Beyond that, no details on what dates they will open up for bookings.

you have way less Disneyland hotels. I can see a demand for booking way higher than at island tower. I follow DVC fairly closely and I had no idea cash bookings started tomorrow.

Sure but what kind of way is that to do business for a Fortune 100 company selling vacations? Seems like the least efficient, most frustrating, least "common sense" way they could possibly do it.

I also used the Chat service and they contacted Member Services for me. It took a while, but they also confirmed no info until they open tomorrow at 9 EST.

Then you have the deal with missing conversations. Sometimes the FB threads get confusing trying to assume what was said.

The VDH Duo garden was a whopping $688 night and $804 after the tax. Made getting points feel better.

Yeah by no means am I saying what Disney is doing is common sense. I was just saying if one were to book tomorrow (without having seen the rooms) the common sense thing to do would be to cancel your reservation if you end up not liking the rooms after they're revealed in X day/weeks (assuming not MONTHS down the road). Unless of course the cancellation/refund policy is different in this scenario; if that's the case then my foot is indeed far into my mouth.

Yes. Can definitely do that. But the concern is booking the wrong type of room. Then, once you get the details, the room type you want may no longer be available.

Unless you book two room types and cancel one later...but it feels like that should be an unnecessary step in the process by providing some more info in advance...

They obviously feel that knowing there will be duos, studios. 1 and 2 bedrooms and 2 bedroom penthouses is all that is needed.

The other pieice is they may be opening up only one view type..assuming there are more…for the cash booking so the details beyond that are not needed?

It does seem strange that we didn’t get more. But, then again, IMO, this whole project has been shared in such a weird way that I am not at all surprised.

I totally get keeping details on something new limited, and then releasing them in a way that builds antici…pation. Like Universal is doing very well with EU.

Disney, with Island Tower but not just Island Tower, is forgetting to do the second part.

I know we were all kind of thinking we’d get details last week and we didn’t so we thought hey they have to do it Monday because it becomes available super early Tuesday and they didn’t.

But they super definitely are going to release details tomorrow. I mean people would be booking blind otherwise! They’d be CRAZY not to!
