I stayed at Isla Bonita, in Emerald Island resort from 3/20-3/24. The house is very conveniently located to WDW. We left the house at 7:45 am, and were at the entrance gates of AK, MGM and MK by 8:00. A grocery store/plaza is at the intersection, less than a mile away.
The house was 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Perfectly ready for us to move in when we arrived at 11:15 am (we had permission to check in early). The folks at the gate and clubhouse were remarkably efficient and very friendly and helpful. The resort was VERY quiet!
My family and I chaperoned a Disney YES trip with 9 teenagers, 2 elementary schoolers, and 3 adult chaperones stayed here comfortably. Although the #1 rule was no drama, I think I would have heard if anything was wrong. In fact, we all wandered around saying, "I can't believe how wonderful this is!"
A rollaway bed was requested, and provided. More than enough linens, towels, bathrobes (YES! Bathrobes!!!) were provided. Beach towels were above the laundry area.
The washer and dryer worked perfectly. We used the dishwasher frequently, as I hate having dishes pile up. However, more than enough dishes are provided to last you all week without running and emptying the dishwasher. We cooked twice, and had plenty of utensils and pots/pans/serving dishes. The grill worked great!
We opened the sliding door to the lanai (screened in pool) and had a huge family room. Everyone really had a fun time hanging out in the pool. There are tons of pool toys, even a volleyball net and basketball hoops over the pool! We were grateful for the boundary of the hot tub while the extreme basketball games went on! And 6 people really can fit into the hot tub (even more can, but I wasn't supposed to know about that). The pool was large enough for all 11 kids, 2 chaperones, and innumerable pool toys at one time.
I loved staying here. I hope to stay here again in summer 2008 If you have any questions, I'll try to answer.
