The safest state: North Dakota.

Florida ranks #8 in 2007.

Yep, here too.

BUT, the portion of the state I'm in is probably a good bit safer than the opposite end of the state because it's not quite as populated.

#47 & it's a major reason I stay here. As much as I love FL & say that I want to move there some day, I don't want to give up the feeling of safety I have here for myself & my children.

Tennessee is #5 My guess is most of it is from Memphis -- the armpit of the state.

Oh well -- the only thing I can say about it is JOB SECURITY!!! DH is in law enforcement and I am an attorney who deals exclusively with criminal law.

Memphis is nothing but gang-bangers and corrupt politicians. Currently -- 43 capital cases pending in the trial courts and lots of federal indictments against Memphis based politicians. It could drop off into the Mississippi and we would all be better off.
