I just finished putting my 10foot prelighted tree (only took an hour!)
I dont't usually put it up this early, but I am having surgery on 11/18, and then leaving for WDW Dec2-11, so I am trying to get a jump on things.

So... is your tree up yet, and why?

Holy Cow that is early. Will probably put it up December 1.

Yikes. I'm still trying to recover from my Halloween candy overdose. Christmas is far, far away for me.

We're moving in a week and a half. I think DH would freak if I started putting the tree up right now. It would be fun watching his reaction, but I've got too much to do to try it. :rotfl2:

Is your tree a real tree, or a fake one? If it is real, how do you keep it fresh for so long?

She said it was prelighted. That would be quite the botanical feat if it were real. :)

Mine would be up if I had my way, but since DH works at Wally World in all the Christmas hoopla he is a scrooge about starting too early at home.

I'm glad I'm not the only one  It's SUPER early for us as we are usually very traditional Thanksgiving weekend and no sooner type people :) but we are really in the Christmas spirit and have been listening to christmas music so we put up the small tree we have in our bedroom up today. It's only 3' and done in blue and silver and looks so pretty. We'll get to enjoy it an extra few weeks. We don't have the big tree up yet but if we make it to Thanksgiving I'll be shocked we seem to be very anxious this year. :)

Ours have been up for a little over a week. A very dear friend of mine, is an interior designer and decorates my house for Christmas :goodvibes With her busy schedule it is either in October or April :rotfl2:

Yeah, that's early, but with what you have ahead of you, I'd do the same thing. My boss said she's probably going to start putting up her 6 trees either this weekend or next! :earseek: (I also know she doesn't take them down until just before Easter.)

I was in a woman's clothing store yesterday and they were playing CHRISTMAS music. Now that's the earliest I've heard it in a retail setting.

I have a 6 1/2' pre-lighted tree with all my Disney ornaments on it in my bedroom right now. I am doing 2 trees this year. Normally neither tree would be up this early but the pre-lighted tree was a Christmas gift last Christmas. I had never taken it out of the box to see if it worked so I thought I better do that now!

TC :cool1:

No, we don't usually start to decorate for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving.

Yes - it's up -- in the woods! :teeth:

We will get ours around the first of December.

Goodness no! We don't put ours up until about 2 weeks before Christmas.

Our Halloween decorations are going up the attic tomorrow, and the Christmas ones will be coming down! We'll start decorating the inside of the house soon, then the tree will go up in a week or two. (It may have to wait until Thanksgiving if my professors don't lay off the exams and quizzes). The outside decorations will go up Thanksgiving weekend.

Happy Holidays!

Mike

PS I listen to Christmas music all year long. I love the looks I get in July. :confused3

No, and since we will not be home for Christmas Day (first time, but we'll be in WDW!) the deal with my DH is that we would not decorate. :guilty:
It's gonna be weird.

We are going to be on a cruise Dec 20-30 and we are still decorating and the gifts will be under the tree until we get home.

It's waaaaaay too early for us to put one up. We'll get ours up sometime after the start of Advent.

Cute related story: DW and I have this practice of rolling our eyes at each other and pretending to vomit when we encounter Christmas stuff at early dates such at this. Whaddaya know... the kids have started doing it too! We were over at the bazaar at church today. DS5 saw something Christmasy, rolled his eyes, slapped his forehead in feign disgust, and went "bleaaaah' for all the nice church ladies to hear. DW and I were
