My FW and I were debating if we should make PS at Victoria and Alberts. We are both picky eaters. Would it be worth it for us to go?

Never been here maybe some day. Heard that they treat you so special you have a butler and waitress just for you. The chef does special courses a real treat. Enjoy maybe some day we can also say we have been to Victoria & Alberta.

I thought about going there this summer but decided no matter how good the food is one meal is not worth that much money. I have no doubts the V&A is an experience.

oh yes!!!!! it is certainly worth it!

my dh is a picky eater, in the way that he always wants a huge steak... but he loves V&A's!
it is the type of restaurant that no matter what you are served... it is delicious!!!!!!
and the atmosphere and ambience are in a class by themselves!

have a great time!

Laura :)

Just at V&A on November 1st.
Don't miss it...very romantic and if you are staying onsite WDW will provide transportation....last time we got a Town Car, this time we got a Streeetch Limo!!
V&A is very quiet and subdued with a harpist and there are seven courses. You can get a wine pairing for an additional $42 per person which is worth it to try some new wines.
If you want a rundown of the menu we had, let me know.

This is the first time I've heard that. How much does it cost? I would really rather not drive back to my resort from the GF.

The two times we went to V&A we were on the Grand Plan, so I am not sure if the transportation was "included" in that or if it is included if you are staying at WDW. When we got our intinerary from the YC, it just included transportion.
If you opted for the wine pairing with dinner, I wouldn't think WDW would want you driving around.

Well it's not for everyone, certainly, but I've found it to be well worth the $$$. Since it appears you'll be on your honeymoon, it would be an especially memorable meal.

The problem is that the menu changes daily, so no real way to know what will be available the evening you go. But they almost always have a fish and a meat entree, so I think you'd find something that would suit you.

I don't think the complimentary transportation is a given. I have seen the bellman at GF arrange transportation back after V&A but on an as available basis. It was around midnight when they offered to drive a couple back when they asked about a cab.

V&A is an evening out and would be a special treat for a honeymoon. There is always something that appeals to the plainer appetite and the ambience is wonderful. It's not at all stuffy and your servers will help guide you without making you feel like you should know what things are. Dinner will take about 3 hours so plan on it being the evening's event.

Last I heard, the price without wine or drinks was $85 per person. Yesterday, I saw something about a similar meal at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans and it was $150 per person. V&A is expensive but it is a very good value.

We did the Chef's Table, PLUS had to pay for our three kids to go to the Neverland Club and we still thought it was worth it (15th Anniversary)

I guess it depends how picky you are. We are not picky at all and are totally open to trying new things and new combinations. I had never had caviar before and I liked it, but then I like sardines and that's the closest thing I can compare the taste to. If you are really, really picky and only want plain meat and potatoes, you may be disappointed. Although you may do OK with the main course, the others seemed to be more exotic. There are absolutely some people who don't like it. Try looking at some sample menus which will at least give you an idea of the types of choices you will be making. It is a lot of money to spend if you are not sure you will enjoy the meal.

We would not return and definitely did not think that it was worth the money. We have only tried it once so perhaps it was an off night.

If a picky eater, probably not. We aren't that picky, but I do like my meat and fish well done, I'm not crazy about a few gourmet type items. After looking at menus, we probably won't be going there.

Take a look at a few sample menus folks have posted from V & A's...If everything appeals to you, sure, give it a shot.

I would say that it's not a place that you will find worth the money. V&A is VERY gourmet- in other words, a lot of "weird" food. If you're not interested in stretching your palate, you won't enjoy yourself.

My whole life I was a very picky eater, until the last decade or so, when I've developed an appreciation for trying new things. (On a recent trip to a French Restaurant I had calamari, escargot AND pate- it was a personal event worth marking down. My poor mom would have fainted.)

Even so, my capacity to be open-minded was stretched at V&A's. And, frankly, for that amount of money, I don't believe it was worth it. I have had better meals for a lot less money, at WDW and other places.

I think you'd be more happy with someplace like California Grille or Citrico's. You will get a very, very nice meal, for alot less money (although still very pricey).

If V&A's was priced in accordance with those restaurants, I would probably go there again. But for that amount of money, I can't justify it, two servers or not.

V&A is definetly worth it for special occasions such as yours. Yes it is very expensive but the experience and the memories from the dinner are worth it. I have eaten at many fine restaraunts around the country and I fine V&A ranks right up there with them. Enjoy your meal.

Absolutely!

My DH and I have been there 4 times since 1996, and we will be returning there a week from today (am I excited - yes!). We have always found the menu selections to be absolutely wonderful and well worth the cost.

I have to agree. I love V&A's, but it isn't for everyone. If you're both picky eaters I fear you will be disappointed with the limited options on the menu. I see that you will be honeymooning at the YC. The Yachtsma's Steakhouse has excellent beef and would be great alternative.

I see a lot of different opinions on Victoria and Alberts here. Does anyone have an up to date menu they could post? Also, if they don't serve a chicken dish, I KNOW my FW will not eat there. Thanks for the help everyone!

:smooth:

Their menu changes daily... but, I'm pretty sure there's one around somewhere..

We're having our first experience there for our anniversary later this month, we're both looking forward to it :-)

The menu at V&A's changes all the time. The good thing is that if you call them and request a chicken dish they will probably bend over backwards making your FW a very nice one.

So, I guess dead cow at The Yachtsman Steakhouse is out ;)?
