Is TPing yards a Homecoming tradition where you live?

It's a Homecoming tradition for the high school kids to toilet paper yards during Homecoming Week in our small town. They don't get destructive and do permanent damage. It does make a big mess though. The other night I think DH had as much fun as the kids did trying to catch them and chase them off. We live out inthe country and eventually they outnumbered him and he couldn't watch everything, they got us. What do you think, is this good old fashioned fun or vandalism?

We would TP the school, the pricipals house and the homes of the football players.

We had the hose all ready last night because we heard they were coming back but they never showed!

Here the King/Queen Candidates TP each others homes. I think as long as it's strictly TP it's no big deal, but if it goes beyond that is vandalism. In a nearby town they TP the school and it got so out of hand they were spray painting the school and what not. They really laid down the law this year and intended on canceling a lot of the festivities if anything happened. Including TP.

Our kids TP for every big game not just homecoming. It's harmless fun for them. Yes it is a mess but it makes a great scrapbook page! :flower:

We used to TP here for any reason. We would usually do a celebratory TP of somebodys house each week on Thursday. Just to celebrate on more day of class. I prefer the forking. Sticking green plastic forks in the yard just high enough not to notice until the lawn mower hit them. It was fun to hide and watch people mowing plastic forks.

We used to TP the friends of homes all the time.

My family has a funny story about it--we had a family that we were very close friends with. One night, my sister and a boy in the family who were the same age were going out tp'ing. The boy's mom insisted that his younger brother go along with them--it was no secret where they were going, everyone used to TP everyone else all the time & we usually helped with the cleanup the next day. Well, they got picked up by the cops and the cop was laughing hysterically by the time they got the kids back to the house because poor little Jimmy kept insisting, "But my mom MADE me go!"

In high school we got caught in the act ...............it was a friends house and we didn't really the girlfriend....................... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: it was her house boy were they mad just a little bit of tp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'll never forget her yelling you'd better clean it up! :rotfl: :rotfl: I live in the midwest and this still goes on today-mostly the senior high kids houses and football players, etc.

My ds is only 13 (8th grade) and the girls in the neighborhood have already TP'd our house twice. The first time they also sprayed some glitter lotion which took a little extra work for my son to clean up, last time it was just the tp. I don't mind, but I haven't let him retaliate.
