Is Tinkerbell....

I don't think so. She's considered one of the fairies, or "pixies" if you want to get real technical.

Why do you ask?

Hmm...they sell her outfit at the BBB, but no, I don't think Disney considers her a princess. Then again, I don't know why Mulan is considered a princess...

Tinkerbell is not a princess. That is an insult to the fairy hierarchy. Princesses are mere humans blessed with good looks and fortunate circumstances. ;)

I believe she's also been classified as a villain. Didn't she try to kill Wendy?

I was afraid this thread was going in another direction...the way of a thread from a while back... :rotfl2:

No, she is a fairy! Not a princess.

That made me giggle!

But no, Tink is not considered a princess just a fairy.

As for Mulan, she was the daughter of a lord which in itself is like royalty, but she also earned a high status. It never occurred to me she was never a princess until the second Mulan movie. But if you wanna get all technical about it, she wasn't born into royalty, nor did she marry into it, so she's not a true princess. Only a princess for the Disney franchise.

She used to be considered a villian, but now that she's so popular, I doubt they catagorize her that way ;)

You are all so funny!

Let me rephrase this:

In the Disney Merchandising world.....if I were to walk into say Target....or any store.....would Tinkerbell be considered Princess Merchandise or be labeled in any way as a Disney Princess.

From what I see written on here....I would HOPE NOT ROFL!!

Didnt realize there was a Princess vs Fairies Debate

Well now they have the whole Disney Faerie franchise so I think she'd fall into that category :]

This is actually a big plus for Mulan. Most royal families have centuries of inbreeding behind them, so it's best not to be a "true" princess.

And to make things even stranger, someone once posted a picture on DIS of questionable "male face" Tinkerbell sliding down the wire at the Magic Kingdom a few years ago. I remember being kinda horrified to see the picture and thinking this has to be photoshopped or something. Wonder if I can find it now......

Interesting Tinkerbell from old thread!

I think you are referring to Tinker Bill.

I don't see anything questionable in your link but many people see a 5 oclock shadow and a mustache on Tinker Bill. Its most likely the harness that holds the "hair" on and the lighting. Others also point to the fact that Tinker Bell looks a little buff. Well there are strength, height and weight restrictions and I would say the perfect person for the job is a grown up female gymnast, think Mary Lou Retton.

I thought she was the daughter of a war hero but not a lord and that the Emperor bestowed some sort of title to her at the end of the movie.
