Is this worrisome or normal boy behavior?

I would have tried to hide it in my pocket to take home. But do remember Burning Ants with a magnify glass as well

I think squishing bugs at that age is totally normal.

But then again, I also know someone who's little boy, at 2 years old, thought it was funny to "kick" a baby bunny that the family found in the backyard. Now THAT'S when you definitely start to worry!!!!

Probably just normal (I had girlie girls so I wouldn't know about the bug stuff) but the whole thought of stepping on and squishing something as big as a caterpillar is yucky to me....:scared: Now I know where my girls got it from.:)

It's normal. I don't like it, but it's normal. I shudder to think of the caterpillar death toll my kids have racked up (both my boys AND girls) in our backyard.

I guess what I personally found disturbing about it was that he was playing with it, in a kind manner like he had befriended it or something, and then all of a sudden when he was through with it he killed it. I personally don't think killing a catepillar that is not bothering you is that same as killing a mosquito that is trying to bite you.

 I think it is pretty normal for his age. Plus he thinks its impressive. You know shock people. I saw a boy "make a catapillar throw up" he squished it if you get what I mean. kids will be kids

That isn't how the OP described it, though.
