My hubby and I are celebrating our anniversary in Oct in Disney. I called to make my ADR's and I asked the CM if she could indicate that it was our anniversary on the reservations and we would like to request window table. (We would really like to view wishes from our table). Well she said no. She said you have to do it at the podium at the restaurant.

I am positive that I made a request for a specific table at Cali Grille for our last trip. I know that requests are never guarenteed but I would still like to request it.

Was she right??? She seemed grumpy because we called on Tues and she said they were very busy with calls for free dining.

Thanks.

I guess she was right I was told the same thing about requesting a window seat. You can tell them when you book your trip that you are celebrating your Anninversary.

Yes she was right you have to request it when you check in. At least this is what I have been told. But she should put down what you are celebrating. Make sure you tell them at the podium as well. They will do their best at the resturants.

Yes, it's true. They can put down the celebration, but table requests must be made at checkin.

thanks guys!! the reason I asked was bc she was so cranky and I didn't know if she was just annoyed bc of all of the calls.

For specific requests, you need to try and call the resturant directly, ask the person who answers if they can accomodate your request or if a mgr. could help. You may need to get an E-mail add. for the mgr. to send a written request.

I do not know if all the resturants work this way, but several at EPCOT do.

i've never heard of that thanks. We did the Cali Grille on our last trip and saw wishes from our table and it was probably one of the most amazing disney moments I have ever had.

I thought that was more for special diets not requests for table seating.

1) You must request special seating at the podium.
2) There are too many people that want special seating.
3) How would the CM at the podium prioritize ahead of time?
4) There are too many "special" occasions at WDW every day.
5) Not counting those who are celebrating, but want a special seat.
6) It is simply a matter of logistics.

EXAMPLE:
. . . let's say there are 8 window tables somewhere
. . . now, there are 12 ADR's who want window tables
. . . they all say it is a birthday, anniversary, or Saint Albans's Day
. . . who gets prioritized for window tables?
. . . it is better to want until they get to the podium
. . . now, they may or may not get a window

I do understand the logistics....and I am very aware that everyone can't get their requests. I was simply wondering about others experiences.

Often the CM on the phone will at least make you feel like they are noting something on your request. I am sure she did note your celebration, but she is right that you make the window request at the podium. It might serve you well to show up well before your ADR time and make the request. It would give CG a little more time to try and accomodate you. Of course, the restaurant is so busy that it may not be possible for them to accomodate. Good luck!
