Is this true about the iPhone?

Yesterday I was at a Bell store in Farview Mall and had a question about the iPhone. Anyway the sales rep told me that if there was a problem with it that you can not exchange it for another one which sounds very surprising, so I am wondering is that true if you have an iPhone with Rogers or Telus?

Hmm...I have an Iphone w/Bell. Can't say if that's true because I bought insurance that will replace it no matter what for something like 3 years beyond the warranty but I am pretty sure that were there an issue with the phone and it was under warranty they would replace? I can't imagine why they wouldn't? :confused3

I have a Rogers iPhone. The thing about the iPhone is that for repairs you have to go through an Apple repair location. When I got mine, for a nominal fee, I got full replacement/repair coverage for (I think) three years. New plans may of course be different. Hope this helps.:)

I bought the insurance with it as well, so I'd never have problems with warranty.

Yes without insurance I believe that is true... if you want a new one, at least this WAS the case when my friend dropped his in a puddle and wanted to get a new one.. they said he had to buy out his contact and start a new contract.. they would not just sell him a new phone (he just wanted to pay cash for a new handset and continue his original contract)).. this was not the mobile co's police it was Apple's policy and yet another reason why I will not ever support them... I will stick with Android open sourcing and freedom to do what I want with my phone, when I want to and not be tied to any contracts if I don't want to.

I had a problem with the reception on my iPhone. The tech support people at Rogers were completely useless. I made an appointment at the Apple Store at Fairview and they exchanged it for me with no problems. It was done right on the spot.

I can see the warranty being voided through something someone did to damage the phone..but not if there's a problem such as the one mentioned above, being the case. I wasn't taking any chances and took the addt'l insurance anyways.

I don't understand the problem, take it to Mac, they'll exchange it for you no questions asked. :confused3

no matter where u purchase it, if its covered under warrenty they will take it at the Apple store, and I have found people at the cell ohone places useless when it comes to issues with the iphone.

PS do not keep it in your pocket with a screaming kid kicking that pocket... the screen will shatter!
