Is this totally insane?

I'm turning 21 in Oct next year and have decided (depending on money) that I want to do it in Las Vegas - can't think of anywhere more appropriate! So we've been thinking about a Vegas trip for a few months now and as you may have guessed we've also been talking about adding on a few days over at Disneyland California afterwards. So far so good. Thing is the Mouse Tunes podcast recently made me aware that 2007 is EPCOT's 25th and that things are afoot over there. EPCOT is one of my real fave places and if something's gonna happen, I don't wanna miss it! So... would it be totally crazy to do Las Vegas -> Anaheim -> WDW?!?!

I've just costed it up based on the weeks we'd be going at this year's prices. For a flight to Vegas from Manchester, hotel in Vegas, car hire for a day up to Anaheim, hotel and park tickets at Anaheim, internal flight from LA down to Orlando, a stay at Pop Century, a 5 day park hopper and flights home from Orlando we're looking at £959.65 per person. I think this is way too much really :( Any ideas of cunning ways to reduce costs anywhere?

If you can do everything you listed, including all the flights, for only £959.65 per person that's unbelievably inexpensive. I would have guessed that the flights alone would be that much if not more.

I have to say I agree Queenie :) £959.65 seems an incredible deal to me. :thumbsup2

Yes, it's all that stuff for £959.65 per person, it's an amazingly good deal but we're meant to be saving money that year!!!

All that for less than £1,000 per person? I think it would be totally insane not to do it!

That seems like a bargain to me!!! I would go for it! :teeth:

I can't think of any way to reduce that price. Sounds really good to me!

It may seem expensive once added up but at less than £1k per person for all that it is reasonable :)

It sounds a great price Sophie. Think what an amazing trip you'll have!!
Where in Vegas are you going to stay?

GO FOR IT GIRL!!
Your only 21 once, life is too short :)

I am on jury service at the moment & have had to listen to some extremely sad & upsetting cases, makes you look at & appreciate life a lot more.

Do it-as someone who hs done all of the above you will love it. Hang the expense, you could be squished under a runaway Popcorn cart at MK on your last day :rotfl2:
Remember there are lots of rich men in the graveyard, but they're still in the graveyard.......

Go for it!!! That is an amazing price. As everyone says, you're only 21 once. You've got a whole life to save for stuff, and you're a long time dead. I did Las Vegas and NY for my 30th last year, and it was worth every penny to mark the occasion with something I'll remember forever.

Let us know when you've booked!!

We shan't be booking until after Christmas at the earliest I'm afriad! I've (very cautiously) brought this idea up with Scott, expecting him to say no, and he's agreed it's a great price and we should look into it. Thing is his parents were thinking of coming with us to Vegas/Disneyland so all this needs to go through them as well. I seriously doubt there'll be an issue with going to WDW (they love it more than me) but they own timeshare in Orlando so other options need to be assessed. The other major issue is that right now we're struggling to get the money together for this year's holiday so we have to think carefully about any sillyness like this!!

Anyway it's certainly being seriously considered!!!

With all that travelling you'll need a holiday when you get back!!!

Sounds like a great trip. We went to Las Vegas for my 30th. I'ts a mad place, like no other. If you do make it you have to do the helicopter flight out to the grand canyon- it is amazing not to be missed!

:goodvibes

I'd like to do that! Let's home the money I invested via Amazon in "fear of flight" curing books was worth it!

Great trip!! We did this last last new years. We went to Vegas for new year then flew down to LA (did Disney, US and hollywood) then flew to Orlando. This was the best trip we've ever taken (so far) LOL. Thats a great price aswell, I think we paid around £1500 each and I thought that was good.

Hope you can save the money.

Go for it! As others have said you're only 21 once and this really does look like a really good deal! :thumbsup2

We love Las Vegas but don't feel we can go back til DD will be 21 or she no longer want to come with us.

I certainly will be encoraging her to go for her 21st and probably fly back to WDW or just go for the second week to DL.

One set of friends who are coming with us to SSR for at week at WDW will be spending their first week in Las Vegas but I don't think they got it nearly that cheap.

Go for it and let us know what you decide. One way or another have a wonderful 21st.

Well we've basically decided that we WANT to do this, the only real problem is that we're thinking about moving house and our finances will be really stretched. We're not sure what's happening now, especially as my sis and her family told us that they'd like to come to WDW with us next year (big shock to us.) Oddly we're trying to talk them out of it (several reasons for this, I'd love to go with them but they really need to be saving for their first house.) So lots of things to consider but I'll definately keep you all informed!
