I've always been a very nervous swimmer (due to some rather unpleasant childhood experiences and swimming teachers
), not getting my 10 metres until I was 11. I can swim 25 metres now but get very very tired and panic in water I can't stand up in.
I've recently joined a gym with a pool and discovered that a private company offers 1:1 lessons in their pool. Perfect! The chance to improve my technique without feeling like an idiot in front of other people which was one of the reasons I used to hate swimming in the first place!
When I got in contact for prices, they told me they currently charged £20 per half hour!
I was quite shocked by this, it seems an awful lot. This has basically put the lessons way out of my price range
