Is this the best airfare I'll be able to get?

We're planning on going to Disney Oct 23rd-30th in a bit of a last minute trip.

I've been looking at airfare and I look like this ~ :scared1:.

Is $390 on Airtran the best deal I'm going to be able to find out of MKE? There are 4 of us and I really don't want to pay that much per person.

We have to drive 2 hours to the airport, so that's a consideration in times.

Any sites I can use to get a better deal? Google isn't really helping me much. lol

Thanks!

PS ~ If that's the best I can do, then I'm willing to pay it...but it will really hurt to do so. :rotfl:

At this late of a date it may be. We are traveling around those same dates and I got our round trip airfare for about $200 (with taxes/fees) but I bought it months and months ago during a sale period.

I know. *sigh*

Airtran has $120 one way and I'm thinking about just booking that for now and waiting on the return flight...but I don't want to end up paying a lot more if the price doesn't go down.

we were going to fly but then we saw the prices and the luggage fees. The only one that I found without kuggage fees was southwest and they came to about 1700.00 and that is for 5 people so we said let's get the car checked and we'll drive down so that's what we are doing now. we estimate to spend about 600.00 both ways and that is half the prcie for the tickets. yes, we know it will be a little difficult but we figured for us it would be financially better.. we will be there on Oct 17th to the 22nd

Have you considered flying into Tampa? We have done that before since flights were cheaper and just over an hour drive over to Orlando. Continental has flights with 1 stop for $212.80 including taxes for your specific dates. There is also Delta into Tampa for a total of $209.30 and total flight time is less than Continental.

No, I hadn't thought of Tampa! Thank you for the idea! I'll have to look a bit more today using that and see what I can find.

Thanks again! :goodvibes

We were originally also going to fly out of MKE for a 10/23-30 trip until I saw the cost of airfare on the 30th. I'm not sure why it is so high, but it caused us to change our trip to the 22nd-29th instead. There are return flights in the $100 range on the 29th.

Another option could be to fly into Orlando and then fly back from Tampa since several car rental companies do not charge a drop charge when renting within the state of Florida. I found this flight in Orlando for $100.60 inc taxes with Southwest. It has 2 stops but no flight change and you wouldn't have to pay baggage fees if checking luggage.

Milwaukee, WI to Orlando, FL

Travel Time 5 h 20 m
(2 stops, no plane change) #1111 Depart Milwaukee, WI (MKE)

Stops in Baltimore, MD and Raleigh, NC 12:45 PM

Webworm, I just want to thank you again for the suggestion of Tampa.

I was able to get a fare of $234 per person round trip (incl all taxes and fees) from MKE to Tampa at times convenient for us. I'm much happier with that than the $391 I was originally looking at!!

Since we were renting a car anyway, driving from Tampa is not an issue.

Thanks again! :goodvibes
