Is this strange of me?

Is it weird that I'd rather book an earlier time at 'Ohana and watch the fireworks on the Poly beach rather than booking a later time and watching them from the restaurant??

I've read so much about the latter, than I'm doubting my desire to go with the former!

Not weird because I'd do the same as you. Or we're both weird! :confused3 I enjoy the solitude that you get on the Poly beach.

Not weird at all! At Ohana you will not be guaranteed a window seat, in fact you could be no where near a window. I'd much rather watch from the beach than stress about where my table was going to be. ;)

If so, then I'm weird too! I scheduled our ADR time with plenty wiggle room to make it to the beach with drink in hand to watch fireworks and then the EWP. We've never seen the EWP and this night will be the only opportunity to on our trip.

We have also booked our Ohana ADR in good time to watch from the beach both fireworks and parade. I think it will be much more natural and relaxed for children after having to sit in a restaurant.

Add me to the weird group... I would prefer watching from the beach rather than jockeying for position for a glimpse around someone else's table at the window.

Not weird. In fact, I think the people who obsess about seeing fireworks from a restaurant are the weird ones - there are so many great places to watch all the WDW fireworks shows that to spend time planning and worrrying about whether you will be at the right table at the right time at the restaurant to see the show is just crazy to me.

Not strange at all! I personally don't get too excited about watching shows from indoors. Especially in a crowded restaurant. It's much more enjoyable and magical outdoors!
Enjoy!

We tried wathching the fireworks from Ohana's and it was too difficult. I would have much rather have watched from the beach. Good choice.

Not strange at all...this is exactly what we want to do. In fact I was wondering what time to book.

We had ressies for 7:05 on 6/10. We were finished eating at 8 ish. Since it was cool and rainy we opted not to wait the two hours. My understanding is the Electirc water Pageant goes by first at around nine, (check the schedule), then Wishes around 10 in the summer months.

Add me to the wierdo list too. We prefer the beach at the Poly to 'Ohana for viewing Wishes and I made our ADR so that we will see the fireworks first and then have dinner (late November - fireworks are earlier than in summer).

That is my plan too - want a 7:30 dinner and then watch wishes at 9:00 from the beach - it just sounds so lovely. In fact, that is the plan for Day 1 - I think it is a great way to celebrate your arrival.

I have done both in the past two months with large parties and both enjoyed it equally. I agree with the other posters about the beach being much more relaxed and not having to fight to look over other's tables. The only complaint I have about the beach is that the music is not loud enough. They do pipe in the music but I could barely hear it standing right next to the speaker.
I am all about the music when it comes to Disney so that's a big deal to me.
